@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 ok , I’m not far from you . I’m in Maryland. I will check a local bodyshop but if I come to you how do I get in contact with you ?
That little sander you were using is that a harbor freight regular sander? You dont use a DA ? It looks amazing by the way . I have alot of questions anyways thanks. If you have time I have a 2013 ebony black mustang need to paint fender and door which are those black primered replacement panels. Im a novice dont want to keep car what products should I use economical primer and clear coat also does your brand make basecoat? Can you get your base coat a different brand than your primer clear coat?
Yea hf sander. Primer not really needed if you sand properly, base coat and clear coat we sell. Send them your paint code and we can send a quart of base with reducer. Clear coat just grab the ss1210 IMO only around 100 bucks works good
Turns out amazing brother, I keep saying this man but you’re definitely great at your craft. Even if it’s a cheap job you still do good work! I’m sure the owner is happy
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 Can I spray hot rod black paint over (dupli-color paint shop paint) base coat? I know you said speedokote can be sprayed over almost anything…
Hey Marco. That came out awesome! Two questions. 1.) When you do a full respray, do you do the door jams first or afterwards? I'd think first right? 2.) What was the colour code on that base coat? I absolutely love that colour! Keep up the great content 👍
Hey Marco I have a question about the SMR 3500 LV-Q I'm think of buying to mix with some pearl to spray as a tri coat. Spraying 3 coats and then clear will work?
I would call that one "a bit rough" Seems the cars I call Rough here in Michigan have holes you can put your hand in😅 That sealer helps every paintjob, I think. Little extra money, but it's a nice foundation Lastly, just used the SMR 42 for the first time today! Impressive shine and reflection. Of course, I got some little nibs to buff out, but that's normal. I may go ahead and wetsand it before buffing. At least the hood. Sprayed the clear with 1.3 Iwatta lv2 cap and 2 compressors running. Really like that clear! It's going on every car that fits the budget from now on! I'll still use the cheaper Speedo clear for touch up jobs, repairs, ect. But for an overall job...man, I gotta go with the 42👍wooo!
I have to agree I shot an infiniti g37 convertible this weekend used the smr42 and the dv1 gun I purchased from you a month or so ago from you and admit there is no shrinkage or reduction in the gloss after 3 days. Wanted to thank you again for being honest and helping out the DIYers!!
@@speedokoterefinishnetwork4937 just when things are going pretty darn smooth...an issue pops up. Spraying the SMR 42 yesterday and got about 3 different areas with....FISHEYES! Not something I normally see. I cleaned and cleaned, so I believe I may have had contaminants in the air line. Oil maybe? Can't be sure, but dusted myself off today, sanded the entire side, clean, clean, clean, changed desiccant beads, sprayed a lot of air out of line, basically then did a flow coat and this time, got the results I am used to. A minor buffing to remove dust specs and I'm good to go. I flow coated the hood after wetsanding as well to bury the center stripe edge. And great results except those pesky specks. I tack over and over and still get the specks. Oops. Running long on comment. Another mistake I made was trying out an unproven gun that got good reviews. Got orange peel I didn't like. Went back to what I know. Iwatta W400 lv2 1.3. I know the gun and can dial it in for clear. I use it only for clear. Any one of my other guns is capable of base. Some day when I get sum extra jingle, I will try out the mark one eco if you continue to stock it.
how the heck did i not see this guys content. been searching these paint jobs for a good while..... not cool for the algorithm, this is an awesome channel and never once did it ever come up in my searches..... sumthin wrong here
Sucks the cheap paint made life difficult but I love the color. I know the guys that throw down some heavy/big flake will hit it with a wet sand before they put on their final layers of clear. More work but I guess if you just had sand paper and not alot of clear that would get it done lol
Bought a can of basecoat activator and started adding a splash of it to all my paint for a little extra insurance Do you ever add the activator? Do you think it makes a difference in the paintjob?
My Dude! You knocked it out of the park even though you had issues! Curious Marco why you don't use a cheese grater on the bondo to save all that sanding? Is it a flip? This one is a top 10 !

Thanks for going through the plan you had for sanding. The rough jobs like your mustang can throw us off and the job can go sideways, wasting sandpaper and waste time. Again, nice work!
That was a junk pile, awesome job man! I know how difficult that color can be spraying without mottling, turned out amazing. Curious how many hours you had into this project?
I love that blue! Pretty!!!!
Thanks!
I did NOT like that color on that new edge Mustang but the final outcome outside looks really good.
Thank you
It would be nice to do a head to head ACME and Speedokote
