This should not exist and has split
      the community, showing that
      many prejudices are true
and we live in a really, really bad age.
This Anime should not exist so hard,
and those that defended it, embarassed
themselves so hard; its outright stunning.

I'm more confused as to why he kept them both with pink hair. Like, you're trying to keep their true identities *hidden*, right? Is Pink hair that common in this world that it isn't gonna be a red flag to people looking for them? "Hey those two girls both have pink hair! And their heights about line up with the missing princesses! You think that's them?" "Nah, can't be! The faces aren't quite right. And surely, the Hero of Healing, who can use magic to change his own face, wouldn't use that power on anyone else!"

To be fair, how often do girls in these shows have different face structures? Other then hair and eyes, how often do anything have something different between each other.

it wasnt just eye color. the eye shape was changed, Freia has drooping eyes now. her chest is smaller shes covered up too, idk about her sister, how they hold themselves and the way they act. at most only Sword Hero Blade would might of known who she was, as she was fucking Thirsty as fuck for her.

@@henriquebecker4453 It's been a while since I say Elfen Lied, but if I recall correctly, at the start Lucy killed a large portion of people based on revenge. Revenge for the puppy, revenge for being lied to, revenge for being abused, revenge against people who loved their children when she had nobody. The first act of that story was nothing but revenge against everything that existed.

This just be my personal opinion but I think women tend to prefer a story oriented shows with cliffhangers than the one adventure per one episode kind of thing.
Kind of why I liked I like assassination classroom more than Saiki K, though the humour is very similar.
I think interspecies reviewers is great though. I do watch it sporadically. I did give up on redo after a few episodes. Not because of the violence per se. More because the MC feels almost inhuman. Everything he does is a means to an end. Those kind of characters make me uncomfortable. Kind of why I'm hesitant about watching classroom of the elite despite it having a very interesting plot.

I haven’t watched either show, nor do I desire to. However, I think it was just a very vocal minority that was hating on ISR, especially since it was a popular and talked about comedy. I never actually saw that much hate for it as a show as it was mostly random people complaining that it was so ‘ecchi’. Whereas I think more people knew what they were getting into with Redo and there was way less random people on Twitter overhearing something and deciding to attack it.
Same with Shield Hero, I only saw a very vocal minority complaining, yet lots of men and women gave the show a lot of views and an active fandom

But to simplify (and without major spoiler)...On the eve before her fourteenth birthday a young girl is on the roof of the school stargazing. When she was a child she saw a beautiful and unique star in the sky but hasn’t been able to find it since and often goes out to try and find it, she made a promise to her parents that if she can’t find it before she turns 14 she will give up her obsession with it. She bumps into a strange young man (and nearly falls off the roof) who is obsessed with all things aesthetic and beautiful. She tells him about the missing star and he tells her to come to “The Detective Club”, it turns out that in this very fancy elite school, that they attend, is a secret club run by this pretty boy, it’s made up of a bunch of attractive young men who each have some unique skill-set for solving mysteries and they agree to help her try and find her missing star within 24 hours. I won’t spoil what happened there but things only got more wild from that first plot with random secret agents, hidden casinos and weird mysteries.
However it’s incredibly uniquely composed with random camera angles, art-style changes and “Aesthetic” shots. Perfect if you love animation or interesting art styles but a bit weird to follow if youre after the plot because I can’t say that the cases or the way that they’re solved alway make sense, it’s a bit surreal. One of the themes of the 90's Batman movies and was actually spelled out in Batman Forever, is that revenge will not bring back what was lost. Batman got his revenge in the the '89 Batman movie, but it did not bring him solace. As he explains to Dick in Batman Forever, once you've gotten your revenge you still feel hollow so you seek out someone else to avenge yourself upon and another and another and you'll still untimely be left with nothing. I'll be honest (and yes I am hoping for conversation on this topic so feel free to reply everyone), I was expecting one thing from this anime after a friend recommended the manga to me (because I am a Shield hero fan) and I got through the first few issues - a detailed revenge fantasy that explored not just what it did to Keyaru but also what kind of world would be left in his wake.
The Count of Monte Cristo was exactly what was running through my mind. Genre-awareness wasn't a factor for me because Japan isn't America, so I wasn't ready to dismiss a work as having no redeeming value or greater message on the basis of its theme, subject matter, author, audience or medium. I truly wondered if Redo of Healer could be a contemporary take on a medieval morality play or even a Greek tragedy (the way it could be argued the first God of War game was). From the start it was obvious the series wasn't going to pull punches, and because it's classified as an anime, not a hentai, there would (or should?) be an expectation that there was a unifying narrative holding the story together. Keyaru was going to 'win', that much was obvious. His enemies would be killed or transformed into his service - also pretty much a given. The devil in the detail would be if the series would genuinely explore the consequences of his actions. Season 2 isn't out and the manga is nowhere near done but I think I'm safe concluding to my disappointment that it won't.
It isn't that Keyaru won't be destroyed or killed in the end. he may be. And it isn't that he's unscathed - the man started psychologically broken, a danger to himself and everyone around him that nobody genuinely believes is a hero - Flare and Norn are brainwashed (and I use that term because it's the closest approximation), Kureha is deceived, Eve is in an alliance of necessity, Setsuna is loyal to her tribe and morally indifferent.
The flaw in the story is that Keyaru is, in every meaningful way, happy in his madness. Not satisfied or content, genuinely happy: His relationship with his harem is fulfilling because his brainwashing is perfect and the (shallow?) personalities he has created for his victims are all he genuinely needs. He needn't suffer financial hardships because his skills make him wealthy. He doesn't need to suffer social consequences because his abilities grant him the power and freedom to go anywhere, do anything, and transform himself into a new identity if he so desires.
Keyaru can act with utter impunity because he can avoid every consequence of his actions; he avoids being alone, unloved, ostracized, financially insolvent, or personally unfulfilled.
The only true consequences he's suffered in the series are the death of his mother figure and the massacre of his village - the latter of which never really affected him. The former, well... that took a grand total of one night passing (doing what he usually does) for him to cope with it.
The only way he's going to lose is either an apocalyptic-scale attack (we're talking final Kamehameha or Blood Sacrifice here) or being murdered in his sleep; neither of which satisfies a character arc. And then there's that bloody self-righteousness, the delusion that not only is Keyaru avenging himself but that he's actually doing something good and necessary. That the kingdom and the world will be a better place once he's finished his tasks. The series appears on track to present that narrative. A black and white morality is something I can work with in anime. With it's implicit endgame goal of changing the world, Redo of Healer appears to building toward a final resolution. It's not 'good prevails over evil' cliché, and it's not 'evil wins because good is dumb' trope. Redo of Healer's world appears to push the message 'in this world there is an overwhelming excess of evil, and good can only come about when one particular evil gains an ascendancy, a monopoly, and all are forced to conform to that evil's worldview.' At that point my suspension of disbelief has had enough.
I stuck to the series because it had the potential to tell an interesting story. I am disappointed because it didn't. I'm not offended, butthurt or outraged by it, nor do I think it lived up to or failed to justify its hype. In all, it's not so bad and it didn't disappoint me so much that I am done with the series - if and when S2 comes out I will watch it. But in the end it'll occupy a very small part of my memory and, in five years, if I forget about it very little of value will be lost. As either a series that had the potential to tell a strong story, or a series that was just an H anime with a twist.

Saying that Kureha is deceived is debatable. I mean, she'd been deceived by her own country for years. Kearu uncovered that deception for her and showed her who her king really was, and what her country was really doing. Sure, he was deceitful regarding his kidnapping and brainwashing of Flare, but he also wasn't really lying about his goals. He just didn't tell her the true reasoning behind his goals. As for Setsuna (who is best girl, btw), Kearu gave her a chance to overcome her own weakness. Setsuna is a warrior who was destined to remain hopelessly weak because of her low level cap. Kearu is working to increase that level cap of hers, allowing her to become stronger and stronger. She willingly became his slave because he saved her village and helped her get stronger. It's not so much that she's morally indifferent, but that she has seen the evil of men and of the kingdom. She may not have been broken nearly as much as Kearu was, but she is still a bit broken. When Kearu left the decision of whether to convert the poison in the town's water source into a cure or to strengthen the poison, she chose to have him turn it into a cure because she didn't want innocent people to suffer unnecessarily. As far as Eve is concerned, I'll agree that it *did* start out as an alliance of necessity for her, but it has evolved past that. I haven't watched the anime yet, so I don't know how far it actually got, but I've been keeping up with the manga and started reading the light novels. While their relationship did start out as "he saved her life and kept her alive," it quickly became more than that for Eve. He gave her the resolve to move forward and try to make actual change, whereas before she had just been running and hiding. Kearu helped Eve overcome her fear and gain some resolve, making her stronger in the process (emotionally and experience-wise, as her level cap is already insanely high). There is also a situation for Eve similar to Setsuna's that he helps with. Admittedly, Kearu mostly helps Setsuna and Eve for his own ends, but he does do a lot to earn their trust and loyalty. He is very much the type of person that does the right things, but for the wrong (or at least not right) reasons.

@@EpyonRules We're probably going to be talking past each other a little because you've not seen the anime and I've never read the light novels (I finished the anime, I'm at 35.1 of the manga) but for the most part the anime is the same as the manga (arguably toned down in parts and very abridged) so hopefully any differences will be minor.
In hindsight Kureha is a special case. Because she's a swordsman from a prestigious family clan who was presented to the king himself, she has to be a noble. Because her flashbacks have her training and fighting alone, she must be a sort of monster or demon hunter and not the leader of a group of hunters or the general of an army.
So she's been isolated with a very narrowly focused life from the start.
In some ways that makes her situation worse than my initial assessment because then she's not a person with independence and agency like Hawkeye, she's just a tool deployed by the princesses or king as needed just like the heroes. Norn once dismissed Flare as a weapon of magical mass destruction - a similar description could apply to Kureha. So she is still deceived by Keyaru because he treats her the same way the kingdom did: they present themselves as heroic, their struggle as necessary, and allow her to play the role of noble avenger and defender. The kingdom only wanted her as a great demon slayer. Keyaru already got most of the use he wanted out of her by leeching Clyret-style swordsmanship from her, now she serves as his spy and informant and (because he did modify her for this task) his concubine. Because the alteration isn't total she's somewhere on the scale between the enslaved Flare and Norn on one extreme and the untouched Eve on the other, but she's not empowered or self-actualized and she's not really free.

    • @EpyonRules
      @EpyonRules 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@mandragoradravgis He didn't *actually* "modify" her at all, though (unless you count "gifted" but factual memories as modification). He administered a powerful aphrodisiac during their fight because he had no other path to survival and gave her some selected memories to show her the kingdom's dark side. He then fed her a few lies and half-truths, along with some actual truths, before realizing that she was still under the effects of the aphrodisiac. Kureha, inexperienced as she was in the ways of the world and with her own body, wanted some "action" that Kearu was all too happy to give her. He somewhat stealthily administered more aphrodisiac in the hopes that it would make her attached to him, and to say that it did would be an understatement. He *might* have used a bit of magic to enhance its efficacy, but I don't remember if he did or not. The aphrodisiac greatly increased her pleasure, which Kureha, who had no experience with men (or women, for that matter), [confused with/equated to] love. He didn't actually mess with her personality or her own memories at all; he simply relied on the fact that she had a sheltered, combat-focused life. Kearu *did* consider brainwashing Kureha into blind obedience, but he decided against it because he both didn't want to inflict that punishment on someone who didn't deserve it and because he valued her too much and didn't want to screw anything up or mess with her personality. He didn't want to use any brainwashing techniques to win her over unless absolutely necessary.

Yeah, the auto-heal was important to his victory, but the range extension on his Corruption skill (or whatever they called it in the anime) should still have made Hawkeye a walk in the park to beat. Like, 1 meter? Really? You're definitely gonna be within that range, just sitting in the same carriage! I don't understand why Kearu dragged out that fight as long as he did. Also, I way prefer the ring form his weapon took on in the manga over the gauntlet form in the LN and anime. Makes way more sense for it to be a ring, as one of his main concerns was that it needed to be something that he always had equipped, and a gauntlet like that would be in the way while increasing Setsuna's level cap.

    • @squirlking2
      @squirlking2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@EpyonRules I also liked the manga having a ring. It makes it harder for hawkeye to know whats healing him. In the manga as they where in the carriage they where actually hitting each other faster then norn could see. But the auto heal was more then the damage hawkeye was doing.
Hawkeye knew he needed to strike one big finishing blow but not get into the mcs reach. When he made his move he almost beheaded the mc if it weren't for his arm taking a massive portion of the blow. And at that point it was over. Hawkeye realized he lost and the holy armament was a ring.
He complimented the mc on a well played fight and died.
overall the manga does a way better job with the fights and really giving us way more details.

As someone who already watched the series, my response is as follows. Game of Thrones was far worse in my opion. So many people raved about GoT. but it was to much for me. in redo of healer, he only does bad things to those who do bad things to him.

    Oh Boy
    The Full Review is here
Okay here is my full-on backstory with my experience with Redo.
I was planning not to watch this, with everything I was hearing involving around it and that it would trigger Twitter I was like you know what I might skip it.
Then I saw Sentai filmworks Twitter feed, back in December when they posted their announcement that they were going to distribute this anime in 2021, and looked around at the comments and so far majority of them were positive and even bragging that they were grateful that FUNimation wasn't going to be the distributor of this.
But then I saw a comment from a certain notable person that mostly is dislike severely by anime Twitter fandom world, many of you know her for her handle: "@ljmontello", her response to this announcement was the following:
"Why are you promoting this assault of women as a fun romp for the incel set?"
DING DING, (cue The Price Is Right Theme).
HERE IT IS!, THIS is the comments on Twitter that Joey The Anime Man was warning us about that would happen.
Yes, once I saw this very notable #KickVic supporter express disgust at Sentai for being the distributor of this series, she even went as far as to even defend interspecies reviewer that even despite that she sees it as being crass and p***, she was told that it was still consensual and sex positive.
Which was funny coming for her because I distinctively remember after FUNimation pulled the show off the air she started bragging about how Japanese networks were beginning to also do the same thing, oh how the tables have turned.
So yeah once I discovered her backlash I was a bit little curious, I was like "OK, even she's aware of how crossing the line This is, now need to see if it is that extreme". Then I watched the infamous clip from episode 2 and that's it.
Now I will say this, my dislike of this show has waned a bit I do not believe it is the number one worst anime of the year, it's still going to be on my worst list, look I'm a vanilla boi, I am more of a supporter of consent and sex positive cultured animes, I'm trying to reduce and stop watching these Torture R***, Incest and other animes that have the Graphic themes that redo displays and while Robyn here has admitted that you get used to it after you watch the series as a whole, firstly there's a lot of other shows I'm watching right now that I don't really have time to watch this series as a whole, secondly I don't have hidive anymore and third I really don't want to subject myself to this, if you're like Robyn and you enjoyed this show particularly for the story then okay I'm fine with that but for me I have no interest in watching this series. And that is my little story involving Redo Of Healer.

The controversy of this anime is that it's male version of I Spit On Your Grave but the victim & the protganist is a man & antagonist/rapist are women & a man named Bullet.
The controversy of this anime literally exposes the hypocrisy of feminists like the twitter user ljmontello saying it as an incel anime. Really, What if genders were reversed ? What if Keyaru was woman ? I am pretty much she would have hailed it as a feminist anime.
I mean in hollywood there are so many so called feminist movies where men get castrated by women because of course he is a rapist & people don't have any problem with it. But soon as genders are reversed people get offended. Remember they did this with Rise of the Shield Hero too.
I hope Redo Of Healer gets second season. I don't care about haters & those feminists. Because this anime ended in cliffhanger.
