youre comparing a 28( all surface tire) to a 29.5 (100% mud extreme tire) thats night and day difference, be mad with yourself and not the tires. DUH....
Chad Robbins, yep the rider is better on the green bike. The mud lite rider pegs the throttle so hard soon as he gets in, of course he's gonna spin more.
Here’s the trick. The first bike is the trail blazer. That one pushes the mud out of the way so it has to fight twice as he’s. Then the second already has a pass plus the second is also 1.5 inches taller so it’s going to be easier for it by default. I love outlaws but if your going to compare you gotta do it evenly
The Outlaws are the better tire in mud but if you want a good behaving trail and mud tire the mud lites are the better tires. The Outlaws are heavier and will beat your gums out doin alotta hard pack trail riding
The mud lites are made for trail riding and additional mudding occasions, outlaws will most likely ware down a lot quicker on the road and the trail and not be as useful in the long run. It's different if you only want to mud with the tires. And I'm also pretty sure those quads are different weights which also matter when mudding.
Those mudlites are bald, not to mention that the first to go through a hole has to break the mud. I would have liked to see the green one try the "small rut" as you call it.
How do you like them? I ordered 2 for drive tires on my atc200. I got a different tire for steer, since I heard good reviews about a different style for steering on trails.
In half the mud holes your not even spinning the mud lites to clean them. They do great if you can spin them fast enough to clean them. You can take any tire and if you let them cake up they won't do as good.
mud lites are the most horrible mud tire you can buy they don't clean or bight worth a shit if you must insist on buying a mud lite i would recommend the XTR because they are radials and do a much better job at cleaning, biting, and a more aggressive tread:)
I have xxl mud lites on my 07 650 H1, small mud holes they do awesome in, anything else they just spin and get me stuck. I have about a 1 and a half inch lug, and I'm not pleased with the xxl's. My next tire will be mud zillas
Exactly!!! Everyone just says they suck because they have never owned one and seem to think the cool thing to do is to keep buying over priced over powered bikes that are constantly breaking...i kno because my firends all have can ams and brutes...they break something everytime we go out..owned my cat 2 years and have yet to replace anything and i go everywhere they do!
Good video... I'll take Mudlites over Outlaws ANY day of the week. I've had both ( and still have my Mudlites after 4 years and 3 different bikes) and can't stand the way Outlaws ride. Plus, they tear your bike up, AND THE TRAILS Very Fast! But no doubt, Outlaws are the best mud tire period. Mudlites, for what they cost, how they pull in the mud, and how they ride, can't be beat in my opinion...
i was having 4x4 problems right before the hole ,the front actuator was acting up ,the pro is going under the knife this saturday ,to fix it and the left rear axle
No one has pointed out that those mud lites are only at about 20% tread left. I ride trail and deep mud. I go everywhere the outlaws go. I am only on a honda 300
You said a key word HONDA 300, I have a Honda rancher 420 with super sampers used to have full tread mud lights but now I have 28 incher. My dad has a Honda 300 with 26 all the way around with one inch lift and passes me😢
Outlaws are definitely way better than mudlites but I think this was more of a ground clearance battle because both tires were balling up with thick mud and the mudpro has more ground clearance.
@laxxmann4610 They are very heavy, they put a big strain on your bike- mainly the drivetrain, including the belt. They also cause your wheel bearings to wear out very fast too. The c.v. joints will probably break (because of the agressiveness of the tires) before they wear out though. Outlaws are one of the roughest riding tires there is that's on the market today. If you mud bog, get Outlaws. If you want your bike to last, forget about Outlaws. Our hunting clubs are tore up because of them.
I have mudlites on my polaris. just got it though, haven't had a chance to test them out. I have kenda executioners on my kawasaki and they are awesome in mud. after seeing this, i want to sell the mudlites!
Hes the ting about mud lights... unless you your mudding on purpose out on the trailes it usually doesn get worth than that first small on and the lights still got threw, also mud light you can still take on hills, the road and spin around and go fast, plus they are alot cheeper! but As far as mud only... oh god you cant beat the outlaws.
Zillas and silverbacks are for people eho go through the same mudhole everyday and get it worn out and bottom out mudlites are for going across fresh mud not dug out and stuff
mud lights are good but they suck in that old clay mud. Now the Outlaws have deeper ligs on them so they can dig more. But a hole lot of it is the bikes if they had a Yamaha Grizzly or a Honda Rincon they would get through it no problem.
Outlaws are extreme mud tires, mudlites r for the trails to ! Remember that the quad with the outlaws was an 1000cc, or 800cc, as the mudlites were being pushed by what ? 600 cc
Your comment a good "all around" tire. I would like to know how putting them up against a bigger tire in only one sloppy mud hole proves they are not a good "all around" tire? Your test is a bit lacking in everything a test or comparison is. Put your outlaws through a deep fast moving stream with a loose gravel bottom and your outlaws turn into the most worthless tire made. You will dig and sink faster then an anvil and if the current decides it wants to takes you it will roll you over right in the middle of the stream. Then you are in a world of hurt. I guess that proves that the outlaw is a poor "all around" tire according to your standard of testing
Outlaws bite the mud and self clean better, mud lites are more geared for trail but still handle decently in mud. Always in deep mud? Outlaws. Lots of trail riding with mud holes? Mudlites.
actually if you want tires that are great for trail and mud and that goes farther than mudlites get 589's been ridin on highways mud and trail for 4 years and still got 90-95% tread left
stoichiometric I have a Honda 420 and it turns 589s fine you don't get in trouble till you are at the seat with mud. and they last I drive a ton of gravel and still look like new even with power braking They are the best tire ITP makes and mudlite wear in half a year if you ride a lot and I am always pulling my friends out even if we aren't mudding.
Outlaws are awesome in mud! but hard rocky trails or smooth hard pack and you will be in for a rough ride! I roll lites for trail riding and laws for mud. easy day.
Ever look at a tractor tire that's designed to pull a plow in dirt, and muddy fields and wonder why it's designed like it is and also wonder why that tread pattern has remained unchanged for 100 years? I guess that's why the author "nabob" of this video chose to include "no fair"
turn the mudlites around....you'll be amazed. of course, only do that when you get to the mud....I can't imagine riding down the trail or a road that way
Your Mudlites are over inflated. Take a little air out. I can see they are stiff and not conforming to the terrain below them. Only the center lugs were grabbing.
Mudlight XTR's are good tires. I have a pair on my xp 850 but it doesn't look like you have XTR's and the tires you have are almost bald. plus try doing so trail riding on those outlaws and watch them disappear along with the crappy ride! But hey everyone has their opinion
its obvious outlaws would win. but for road dirt sand and mud riding id rather have the mudlight. or in my cause i have itp mudlight XTR's. search them. i love mine
youre comparing a 28( all surface tire) to a 29.5 (100% mud extreme tire) thats night and day difference, be mad with yourself and not the tires. DUH....

jUST another guy driving around in 2 wheel drive in high range until its to late
The Outlaws are the better tire in mud but if you want a good behaving trail and mud tire the mud lites are the better tires. The Outlaws are heavier and will beat your gums out doin alotta hard pack trail riding
first one broke up mud made easier for second
Outlaws are great. Arctic Cat four wheelers on the other hand... I really feel sorry for anyone who bought one.
Velislide amen
my as worked on an artic cat more than yamaha
Velislide you ain't lying
Funny my girls 2002 cat 500 with 28in mudlights does just fine???
But then again I go threw the same mud with my kfx 700. With bear claws. 2wd also..
The mud lites are made for trail riding and additional mudding occasions, outlaws will most likely ware down a lot quicker on the road and the trail and not be as useful in the long run. It's different if you only want to mud with the tires. And I'm also pretty sure those quads are different weights which also matter when mudding.
Tires got to much air
It's not the tires, it's the driver.
Mud lites are fine, that ship just needs a Captain!
Those mudlites are bald, not to mention that the first to go through a hole has to break the mud. I would have liked to see the green one try the "small rut" as you call it.
Those mudlites look worn
100%
Yeah let's go buy a 13,000 dollar can am boys! Even tho that's more than what my truck cost!
Those are arctic cats
Prolly the mud lite a/t tires which is what I have on my 3 wheeler cause there less aggressive with smaller lugs
How do you like them? I ordered 2 for drive tires on my atc200. I got a different tire for steer, since I heard good reviews about a different style for steering on trails.
also, he has the at version of mudlites where he needs the XL's or XXl's
In half the mud holes your not even spinning the mud lites to clean them. They do great if you can spin them fast enough to clean them. You can take any tire and if you let them cake up they won't do as good.
Last set of mudlites I had I had them mounted backwards they did ok like that but were out very fast.
mud lites are the most horrible mud tire you can buy they don't clean or bight worth a shit if you must insist on buying a mud lite i would recommend the XTR because they are radials and do a much better job at cleaning, biting, and a more aggressive tread:)
The guy with the mud lites made this video to show his wife he needs more expensive tires. And this is his way to prove it. 😂
The tires don't suck for one the mudlites were smaller and two it was on a different four wheeler mudlites are the lightest mud tire out there
U have the mudlights mounted right. One way mud. The other snow.
I have xxl mud lites on my 07 650 H1, small mud holes they do awesome in, anything else they just spin and get me stuck. I have about a 1 and a half inch lug, and I'm not pleased with the xxl's. My next tire will be mud zillas
Thanks for taking the time to make that video. I appreciate the muck y'all endured. The outlaws are the way to go - - - no doubt
I run gators, 26 front and 27 rear. Does a hell of a job. My bike is a 03 arctic cat 300 4x4. Very tough
Mud lites are great in sand but outlaw 2s rob lots of power + mud lites are super lightweight
Red needs less air and driver mod ;) lol
man if you wanna go you gotta get em spinnin so they clean out not the tires fault entirely
mud zillas are pretty nice also im running 28" mud zillas on my rancher 350 and it pulls through like a champ.
@231MasseyFerguson not because of the tires...because your fellow lease members chose to hot rod their bikes on your trails/roads.
Mudlites, for what they cost, how they pull in the mud, and how they ride, can't be beat in my opinion...
brand new outlaws v.s. worn out mulite no wonder its not fair
Not sure how accurate that was since the frame on the 28" mudlite wheeler was scraping and the frame of the 29.5" outlaw wheeler was not.
i was having 4x4 problems right before the hole ,the front actuator was acting up ,the pro is going under the knife this saturday ,to fix it and the left rear axle
No one has pointed out that those mud lites are only at about 20% tread left. I ride trail and deep mud. I go everywhere the outlaws go. I am only on a honda 300

+We boy Gun club they are just so light. They just never have brakes
You can’t beat a Honda no matter what you have
Outlaws are like..mud get outta my way.
Outlaws are definitely way better than mudlites but I think this was more of a ground clearance battle because both tires were balling up with thick mud and the mudpro has more ground clearance.
cats dont suck they got the best clearance and they are really relable machines stock
Awesome test, try some vampires vs bear-claws. this really help me make a decision on my tire purchase thanks!
tires outlaw 29.5x10x12 and 29.5x12x12?
@laxxmann4610 They are very heavy, they put a big strain on your bike- mainly the drivetrain, including the belt. They also cause your wheel bearings to wear out very fast too. riding with your knees on the seat raises your center of gravity... makes it tippy
my Honda 300 with 26" vampires will go farther than all of yall
just keep your teddy bear close so he can wipe your ass when my arctic cat comes through and pulls you out☺
I hear ya I got a Honda 300 4x4 on 28 inch outlaws and it is nasty
+Eric Thompson I believe not
+Drzdipper15 I bet you got a Chinese fourwheeler dumbass I go over the handle bars and I hit ever hole I see
+Colby Fowler I wasn't talking to you, can't you see who I tagged?
was the mud pro's diff lock not working?
Should probably use the same size for accurate comparison.
I have a Yamaha rhino 660 with mudlite xtr and ive been through some deep deep mud and only got stuck a few times
I have mudlites on my polaris. just got it though, haven't had a chance to test them out. I have kenda executioners on my kawasaki and they are awesome in mud. after seeing this, i want to sell the mudlites!

those are mud lite at's, need muud lite XL, deeper tread than the 3/4 deep at's
Zillas and silverbacks are for people eho go through the same mudhole everyday and get it worn out and bottom out mudlites are for going across fresh mud not dug out and stuff
thats thick shit i aint gone lie but i love my outlaws
mud lights are good but they suck in that old clay mud. Now the Outlaws have deeper ligs on them so they can dig more. But a hole lot of it is the bikes if they had a Yamaha Grizzly or a Honda Rincon they would get through it no problem.
Mudlites are more of a trail tire...they do excellent up to a certain level of mud
Outlaws are extreme mud tires, mudlites r for the trails to ! Remember that the quad with the outlaws was an 1000cc, or 800cc, as the mudlites were being pushed by what ? 600 cc

that hole made my Brute overheat. that shale crap clogs a radiator right now!
the green articat needs a little more power to actually take affect of the 29.5 outlaws
they also made the mud lutes the trial breqker
Would they be too hard to turn on a outlander 400?
Outlaws bite the mud and self clean better, mud lites are more geared for trail but still handle decently in mud. Always in deep mud? Outlaws. Lots of trail riding with mud holes? Mudlites.
actually if you want tires that are great for trail and mud and that goes farther than mudlites get 589's been ridin on highways mud and trail for 4 years and still got 90-95% tread left
589's are a very tough, rugged tire. Which makes them kinda heavy. Depends on your needs.
stoichiometric I have a Honda 420 and it turns 589s fine you don't get in trouble till you are at the seat with mud. and they last I drive a ton of gravel and still look like new even with power braking They are the best tire ITP makes and mudlite wear in half a year if you ride a lot and I am always pulling my friends out even if we aren't mudding.

I have mud lites on my rancher 350 and it won't stop through every thing
Mud lutes are a lot Cheaper and there an all around tire and plus the green mud pro is a lot stronger and the rider knows what he's doing
It's harder on the lites because you broke through the mud then the outlaws went
Use your weight on both sides, sway back n forth, spin the tires faster so the mud doesnt pack on giving you no traction
Ya but the mudlites will save you a whole lotta money!
yes definetly they will do great and since it can am it will easily pull them..
What's your comment on the mudlite XTR?
@xPunisher1000 Outlaws. What ATV do u have?
hit the damn throttle. that looked so boring
To me tire pressure is every thing like running 4 pounds in my mud lites and they bite real hard
I think they weren't hooking up because there was to much air in the tires
Nick Carey no tire speed to clean the tread out.
the lites are bias the XTR's are radials the outlaws come in bias and radial Radial > bias any day of the week:)
let a sportsman in there it will show u who the boss is
Outlaws amazing imagine them on a better bike.
turn the mudlites around....you'll be amazed. of course, only do that when you get to the mud....I can't imagine riding down the trail or a road that way
articat means ya they were out of canams and you couldn't wait!
floor it! you need to keep the tires cleaned out!
But hey everyone has their opinion
your running a 30 class tire next to a 28 all terrain what the hell...
I just bought a 2017 Honda rancher 420 4x4
Daniel Combs congratulations
way to go into two wheel drive before going into the rut with the mudlites.
It's a prairie 650.
He is using a type of Mud lite that isn't for that change them up for the Mud terrain
Mudlites had no tread probably started eating them like chocolate donuts
only thing arctic cats are good for is snowmobiles .
but seriously mud lites all they do is just dig holes
ITP MUD LITE XTR's better tire
should i go with outlaws r silverbacks?
also the mud lites still made it threw the hole and there on a p.o.s. artic cat
mudlite xtr is no challange tru the xl or xxl next time . bet you wont be too happy
its obvious outlaws would win. but for road dirt sand and mud riding id rather have the mudlight. or in my cause i have itp mudlight XTR's. search them. i love mine
The mudlights are almost bald
my brother has 27 in mud machine tri-claws and those things are unstopable
@SUPERT51 get 28in silverbacks.thats what im doin :).but ya may need wheel spacers and have to take the rear fender off
trade the mudlites for silverbacks then compare, that would be cool
somebody teach the dude on the red bike to mud.
the outlaws tread deapth is way larger- deeper than the mudlites so of course the outlaws will better in mud
Buy a good mud tires it prolly help even more
