  • The Single Oak Project is the most extensive bourbon experiment ever undertaken-an industry first. Starting in 2006, Buffalo Trace Distillery set out to research the impact of seven important factors in the bourbon-making process. Learn from Mark Brown, Buffalo Trace CEO, what makes the winning formula, and when to expect the next Single Oak release.

      I agree. It’s beyond frustrating. I had EH Taylor single barrel at a bar in an airport. It was the best whiskey I’ve ever had. Been trying to find it for 3 years ever since. How can their be none? Somehow people are scooping them up to resell on secondary. Greed ruins everything. I’ve given up on Buffalo trace

      The Single Oak Project began in 1999, culminating in #80/192 being selected as the best in 2015; this was an experimental run, released in 375ml bottles for ~$45 per.
      As for your store, sadly it's up to their distributor as to what's made available and at what cost; too many distributors will force a store to buy tons of lesser quality products in order to get a little of the "good stuff".

    • @normlang1994
      @normlang1994 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@e4tango347 my ABC is state run, which means MSRPricing, but the tradeoff is a poorer selection.
      Also, I know that Sazerac/BT don't distribute to states evenly...some states are identified as "test" markets, so they get more product first.
      Most BT products, except for the bottom shelf like Benchmark 8, are VERY RARE.

    I’m sure it is good, but there is a ton of other stuff that is just as good or better that I can actually find, and actually afford.
    I live in VA and we have State stores. They do this thing now where they release a bunch of allocated stuff at random times at random stores. It is kinda of a dumb way to do it, but it gives you the chance to get some hard to find stuff at MSRP. Anyway, I’ve managed to get there for a few of these at different stores in the last few weeks. The store just puts everything they have in the drop on the counter, and each person can by one bottle of what they have out there. I was one of the first in one of the stores and they had a few bottles of Blantons, Eagle Rare, and regular BT. Those are good, but they also had Woodford Reserve Batch Proof 118.4 that no one was touching. I bought that. The other time I got there the next day and all the Buffalo Trace was long gone, but the Elijah Craig C922 was untouched. Noobs.
