The pride these workers have in what they do resonates. Thank you for this insider look into the process.

One thing I learned in the Marines is put your rank on the line daily for your men. All the credit goes to the crew not me! 👊🏼

This was awesome to see! As a home distiller who likes making whiskey, it’s almost incomprehensible to image filling even a single barrel, let alone a thousand a day!!! It’s incredibly challenging to make good whiskey and it’s amazing to see it blown up to such a scale and so optimized.

We were at Buffalo Trace in October of 22 and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Completely worth the trip from the west coast. One thing you can’t get on video is that great smell of the mash and rick house.

As a Cooper from Kentucky Cooperage, it's interesting to see the other side of this process.

The thing I find most amazing about this tour is the fact that even with all that product, the only tiny amount of it that I have been able to procure is a single lonely bottle of Buffalo Trace. And I only got that because the clerk at the ABC store here in NC had one hidden behind the counter! And that is the bottom rung bottle that Buffalo Trace offers!
Where in the world is all that juice hiding!??!!

    • @Ralphinsc
      @Ralphinsc ปีที่แล้ว

The bottom rung bottles for each mashbill are Benchmark and Ancient Age. And even that can be a bit difficult to find around where I live due to the distributor issues.

Interesting to see how the proces works. With automated processes these days it's nice to see that there're still people involved in the making op whisky; considering the amount af noise I hear in the video, do they not wear PPE?

Very insiteful and I enjoyed this indepth tour of Buffalo Trace, I love this burbon and a great part of our American past. Definately something that would not be offered on a normal walk around as you and your guide have mentioned. Please don't take this the wrong way, I am not a safety inspector by any means. I know the distillery is old, I love that old feel of the brick and rails. If it looked safe to you great maybe there was something I missed with the video, but why aren't the guys wearing ear plugs or saftey glasses where its loud or hammering bungs? Safety harness for the guy on the lift?

I'm not the least bit surprised that it's lots of work to do a high volume bourbon production operation. To have a consistent supply in the future you've got to get a whole bunch of things done right now.

When it comes to the consumption of Whiskey one really need's to be disciplined with acknowledging the potential danger's of excessive use.
The commercials or advertisements of both Whiskey and Bourbon make it appear a man has reached a level of sophistication and perhaps peer acceptance as an above average looking man takes a swig with his 4 to 5 day stubble, the subtle message is if one partakes in a particular brand, they have arrived.
What is not advertised is the fact alcohol has ruined the lives of the well intentioned.
Alcoholism has destroyed so many marriages, children suffer from the unstable family unit thrust upon them.
Cirrhosis of the liver and complications caused by excessive drinking has been the early death of many.
The DUI'S and innocent people being killed by drunk driving is downplayed in these crafty marketing campaigns.
Some of the brand names may have a blurb on the label that says " Drink Responsibly " .. really just a facade.
I recognize some are able to have one or two drinks without the booze hi-jacking their lives, but all too many develop alcohol addiction and all of the problems not mentioned in their advertising pitch.
This is my observation for what it may be worth.
