A special thanks and shout out must go to Sir Timmy Thomas Singer/Songwriter/Musician for his Great Composition "Why Can't We Live Together" here Performed by Sir Carlos Santana. The Band's Performance was fantastic! Thanks for sharing this Video @ EpicConcerts.
Też się bardzo cieszę, że znalazłam coś niesamowitego,coś co przeniosło mnie w inny wymiar rzeczywistości...ale nie ma co się dziwić, Santana to klasyka, perła muzyki ❤
I first came to know this song from Sade, i did not know she was not the original singer/composer but she gives a great rendition of the song. Ah and tonight i heard the original song by Timmy Thomas. Cheers
Today's the day I FINALLY found this song again!! I first heard it in early 1973 while I was in night school, and I've never forgotten it--just the song's name and the artist. @@ If I could've remembered the lyrics...I would have found it decades ago, but now I remember. And those heartfelt words are even more meaningful today as they were back then--if that's even possible. War in Ukraine. Out of control tribalism in the west. We're all brothers and sisters. Let's live in peace, huh? Let's sit down together and solve problems without demonizing everyone who disagrees.
Here iam… 2024, Oh Yes! I can relate to some Michelle Branch and the “The Legend” of Carlos Santana… really? He’s a magical, mysterious, musician, sent down to me from HEAVEN. No body better then Carlos.
No more war no more war just a little piece on this earth - no matter no matter what color you're still my brother... Why people don't listen to those simple words? Put their guns away, shake hands together...
nothing to do with guns....everything to do with cultures and mind set....if guns didn't exist people would use another weapon... change the thinking....read and become educated first, most people with a violent tendencies are uneducated
Originator and written by Timmy Thomas. It's a fabulously perfected song! He wrote this out of caring and compassion for what he learned upon the amounts of sons in the war, from Americans to the Vietnamese which gave birth to this song - No one could take this away from Timmy Thomas. Santana however, did a fabulous job in this cover. Alex Ligertwood excellent in vocals, Chester Thompson in Keyboards, Jorge Santana as well and the band which is phenomenal fantastic. They did a great cover that still hits the feeling straight to your heart as did Sade and her band. It makes me think of Apple pies ....... I've tasted so many apple pies and made out of different recipes but all in all it's still apple pie - this song should not be taken away from neither of these artist they are fantastic! Thank you, to Timmy Thomas because you always mention during your live concerts that here's the point in the song: "No matter, no matter what color You are still my brother, I said no matter,
I was among a couple hundred lucky folks who saw Carlos and the band do their dry run for this show here on Guam, at our little baseball field by the ocean. Magic.
why cant we live together, everybody wants to live together, why cant we, no more wars just a little peace in this world, why cant we live together, no matter what color you are still my brother, why cant we live together, everybody wants to live together.
Music with live instruments, meaningful words. Music that filled up the Atmosphere. Santanas, Sades, of the World of course their are others. Where are you?
This is one of my favorite later Santana videos. I favor the "Welcome" era Santana, but this is very soulful. Cool how Carlos and Jorge harmonized at the outro. Alex Ligertwood is fantastic on this. I remember him with Brian Auger.
no matter what color You are still my brother " The song brings chills along hearing the lyrics, understanding the meaning of what Timmy Thomas gave birth to - something we all should EMBRACE and THINK ABOUT, Love and Peace ~
Uno de mis temas preferidos. Me encanta la voz de Alex Ligertwood. Un magnífica interpretación junto a Santana. Muchas gracias por compartir Lo agregué a mis favoritos. Sofí
I never had listened to this Santana cover. Loved it. PS: I never knew that Carlos had a brother guitarist. At a certain point of the video I talked to myself "WTF there are TWO Carlos Santana on the stage!" LoL
Listen to the Lighthill Gospel choir in Germany perform this. I ran up on it the night before MLK's birthday 2018, by chance. I really like it and I hope you who see this will too.

Carlos can make a guitar sound like magic. As Jorge can too...
But he´s also very talented in showing a crowd that he´s not in the mood...to say the least :)
The look of love, pride, and respect that Carlos gave Jorge is priceless! "Blood's thicker than the mud; it's a family affair." - Sly Stone
