I have been subscribed for some time now and I have to say, you probably will never know how much joy you’ve brought to your subscribers. Your Amazon renewed series was fresh and fun! Unfortunately for whatever reason, the “algorithm gods” haven’t blessed you as I feel you deserve. Whatever you choose to make next, I’ll be watching. A nodule was found on my kidney…potentially cancerous and I have to wait until next month to see if it grows before my dr wants to take the next step. The anticipation and fear is scary but I’m remaining positive. Good luck on your journey and I will pray for you!

Travis, I enjoy these videos and been listening to them when on my walks, though one of them I didn’t get to finish and looks like I won’t be able to. As we get older, we often reflect and have a change in value for life. I tend to look at the positives and what the future could hold. It took me a while to realize that my outlook on life was very much changed when I had open heart surgery in 94. 30 years later, I have enjoyed life, travelled a bunch and remember that my surgery, as scary as it was, bought me more time on this rock hurling through space.
From one internet stranger to another, I wish you the best and will continue to enjoy listening to you while on walks and hikes for as long as you keep wanting to put out your work.

Travis - I completely feel you and can relate. I just turned 50. And ny health could be better. However i lost over 120 lb and kept it off for about 7 years now. My doctor told me I was diabetic 7 years ago, type 2, and completely reversed it through the keto diet and exercise. I exercise daily. Minimum 30 minutes on the treadmill or elliptical. I was lucky my wife cooks healthy for me. I also use intermittent fasting. I promise if I can do it, you can. There's no magic. It just took discipline. And I lacked it until I was told I had diabetes and I did not want to die or have complications.
I feel like I can hear the sadness in your voice also. I will definitely pray for you. I've enjoyed listening and watching your content. But I can tell you're different than how you used to be. The epidemic of men and loneliness as we get older is real. I'm glad to reach out and be your friend even if it's just via text, skype, etc. Please let me know how I can help. I can always use another friend. I'd be glad to listen and tell you what works for me. 🙏🏽❤

Travis I feel every bit of your pain and I know you are scared. I’m going through the same. This June had test found two tumors both benign. Liver is currently in fibrosis. Had MRI, CAT scan and Ultrasound. Through everything out of the refrigerator also because like you i figured I did some of the liver damage to myself with poor eating. Of course I’ve asked multiple times do I have cancer and the doctors tell me no. But I’m still worry. I just wanted to cry because it was so overwhelming. Good luck with the surgery! It has been about 9 years since I was mis-diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic. About 5 years later I was correctly diagnosed with late onset type 1 diabetes. With type 2 you will likely be given some metformin pills to take daily. I have 4 regular doses of insulin as a type 1 but can still enjoy all of the foods I love (sandwiches, burgers, fries) you just have to learn to deal with proper timing for meals and good moderation. 🙏

Travis, I wish you the best of luck with your medical journey and life journey in general. What you had to say was very educational, and I can totally relate. I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes only three months ago. I have been losing weight and trying my best to manage it. Unfortunately, it tends to run in my family, So I knew I would get it one day. Luckily, I don't have a severe case and can manage it with diet, exercise, and one pill a day. Hopefully, soon, I won't even need the pill any longer. Luckily, I never got really heavy or anything like that. But I hope to hit my target weight within the next 7 to 10 months. Hopefully, that will mean I'm healthy enough not to need any medication.
Cutting out carbohydrates is the biggest thing with type 2. Cutting carbs also leads to fast weight loss. I've already lost 30 lbs myself.

Note: If things get really serious, please take a second and a third doctor’s opinion, you’ll be surprised how a lot of them don’t know what they are talking about.

It's interesting I caught this particular episode this morning. I'm one of the ones whose life flipped completely in 2021 (not from pandemic). Yes, had a chronic illness that eventually forced me to resign from my career in 2021. Didn't even know that was going to be the relatively easy part😂
My health actually became worse within a month of resigning, and I lost everything.
I was approved for SSDI last year this time. I was able to regain some independence, afford a simple place for myself, and also have health insurance (Medicare).
I'm still shocked at how my life has completely changed in 3 years.
Your episode today caught me because, one of my major symptoms has come back heavy the last 2 days, a symptom I originally felt in 2021 but became somewhat dormant. Welp! Hear comes the anxiety and fear of something horrible about to arrive. Then wisdom arrived immediately and said "you've been here before, it didn't destroy you.". So I say to you, you've been through serious stuff before, we're roughly same generation, so go through all the feels, anxiety, and weirdness you've been through stuff before and survived. Best wishes

In 2018, Post surgury, my wound got infected and I had to have 4 extra surguries. (NICE). In 2018, durring my month stay in the hospital, I woke up in ICU...Hilarity Ensued..I can elaborate if you wish...but YT does not allow enough chatacters. That being said.. don't be privet about this.. blog it.. the more people know, the more prayers and positiveness.... I was on the FB the whole time...when I was awake. Love ya man... I strongly recommend that you should not touch your gallbladder, Castor oil wrap will clear the stone in just 3 days, then fill your body with the right minerals and vitamins to heal.

My cardiologist recently recommended I double my dose of metformin, now that my A1c is back to 6.1 instead of 6.3, which was definitely a pre-diabetic state. He wants be to be even more aggressive to keep me from becoming diabetic. So that’s what I’m doing.
I have an Inspire Sleep device implanted in my chest and neck to fight my severe obstructive sleep apnea in July. It’s activated by a device about the size of a computer mouse which keeps my tongue from blocking my airway while I sleep and keeps me breathing. I wickedly call the devices my Tongue Toys. 😜 The positive side effects of my Tongue Toys is that they hopefully help with my heart’s premature atrial contractions clocked at 15% of my heartbeats during one week of wearing a device on my chest, monitoring my heartbeats. (So I went from being a Borg to being a Bionic Man this year. WOO-HOO!) I’ve had other health issues that - like you, Travis - I won’t mention.
I mention these to say, “I feel ya, Bruh.” You are definitely not alone, although I felt I was a few times these past three years. You’re a reminder to me - as I hope I am to you - that there’s what I call a Siblinghood of folks going through similar health issues. And we got each others’ backs.
    We got this.

I often wonder if I had a YT channel could I use it to unload the things I’m going through. Not trying to make money but, just empty my mind. I have a therapist and
Psychiatrist but I can’t just call them any time
Of day, but there isn’t some I can talk to.

Oddly enough, these are the thinks i listen to on my drive in. It's usually a 15 min drive so the 20 min conversation isn't as bad as you think. Sorry to hear of any health issues but thats what happens when we get older. just gotta keep moving forward and not let some of this stuff hold us back from doing and being better.
