- A how to, on the way you should go around getting up the two main grades in the Spirit Of Steam route, first being at the beginning...Liverpool Lime Street & the other being just past Runcorn. Hope this helps!

wow, you back the reverser off so far so fast ! It works better than what I'm doing though so I'll give it a go :) Then all I'll need to do is learn how to control the braking LOL

Thanks for this! Now i just need to learn how to brake properly, I go slow on passenger trains cause if I go fast I won't know when to brake and end up over running the platform

I followed the steps but I always run out of steam before exiting the climbing
Make sure you have auto firing mode on - found in the settings

Apply sand on the front and give it very light regulator only about 8% and then release the brakes
I've climbed out of Lime Street without using the sanders with 12 on. I'm always late at Edge Hill though. Every time I do this run I stop at Crewe , before tha analyses screen appears, I get a blue screen saying "an error has occurred update system software" although when I try that, it says the latest updates are already installed. This is on an original PS4.
Unfortunately this is an issue currently

How do you recover after a stop or maintain speed I can’t ever get over 20mph or maintain it for more than 5 minutes and when I stop I gain speed really slowly unlike when you first load in and gain speed quickly
I’d say you most likely have low steam pressure. Once you get moving it’d be a good idea to open up both dampers in the locomotive. And with you not getting over 20mph, I’m wondering if you’re backing off of the reverser at all

Steam Firing Mode - Automatic
Please make a video on the edge hill gradient, I know it's only 0.8% but with full mineral wagons and starting on a hill it's impossible to climb
Is that the left hand bend heading over the fast lines? If so I recommend going above the 20 limit to tackle it

Also, whatever I do, I just cant get this one train moving, it's loaded mineral wagons on the ends with 6 planks in the middle
Check to make sure the Handbrake is off. Every time I start at edge hill the handbrake on the loco has been on
@@seaniam81 I've tried that and I think what's wrong is the trains so heavy while also being loose coupled, the 8f can't get enough momentum and the steam chest pressure locks up
Does this work on x box, cant get over 10, despite following your advice

On both gradients I'm on ps5 and yet I still lose speed
I think it's a console issue. I've followed these steps on the same service, second by second and matching each setting exactly. No matter what though, the speed always begins to drop off around 13mph, then starts to pick up again in the low 7mph range.
