i just did the Adventure truck . i love it .i redid the body panels out of a sandpaper sleeve. magnet mounted. i'm doing both short and long wheel base, furitek motors, esc etc
These bodies are really nice! Too bad Axial doesn't provide them as a stock option. They look great and perform well once you replace the metal panels with something light weight. My body panels are lexan. The total weight of the body is around 25 grams. It is very light. The steel ones were heavy and would have ruined the performance. @@EXPIOWA I watched your video. I mounted mine a bit different. I haven't weighed it ? Super light. Youre right its the perfect size Its crawling really well. I love it
Keeping the front more tied down really helps these out a lot. It makes sense though. Most of the weight is up front. It works better when it is controlled. : )
Great information, well demonstrated. Nice job on the bodies, I really enjoyed your video showing how they are made. The camouflage looks exceptionally good.
I have anecdotally discovered that LWB rigs often outperform short wheelbase rigs outdoors. Nature where I live doesn't have the rough angles that I built into my course.
Those are Adventure Force bodies from Walmart. $15 The link shows how I modified and lightened it for use on an SCX24. th-cam.com/video/_CLS2ingyTA/w-d-xo.html
I agree stock works very well. The Hot Racing ones with dielectric grease and stock springs work the smoothest and most like a hydraulic shock in my experience so far. It may not be enough of a difference to warrant the expense though. Both work beautifully. I have the HR shocks only on my long wheelbase 4WS rig. The rest have stock. A set of Flexblades on the rear give it just enough extra articulation to hit the sweet spot on articulation but not enough that it becomes unstable. You can get them here: www.moforc.com
Cool video! I'm going to try both, short and long wheelbase (WB) on my next scx24 build. I'm partial to a shorter WB as I built up an old school CJ7 and I know what they can do. The Toyota PU would always get high centered where as the CJ would not given a similar setup on the same feature. When things get chunky I lean towards shorter WB. Having said that, the comp crawlers tend to have a longer WB. How long are each of the links in mm on the C10? J.P. Wirt has built a really short scx24 called the Kei. I think it looks really cool. Stock Deadbolt length in front and next shortest in rear. Check it out: th-cam.com/video/DNpqG22sdss/w-d-xo.html
It was only a matter of time before someone built a short wb rig. I would need to measure the C10 links to know how long they are. If you notice the unused holes in the back of the frame, you can see the alternate mounting position for the upper shock mounts for the C10 vs the Jeep.
A very good demonstration of a widely discussed topic among offroaders. I especially liked the conclusion.
always good info. useful when tweaking builds. thanks for efforts.👍✌

Good video I really appreciate the one just putting double barrel shocks on the rear it helped mine out alot👺🤙

Thank you. It started out with blue camo. I photocopied it in black and white and it looked much better.
Tough line for sure. With each Crawl, either truck has its ups and downs lol

@@EXPIOWA You bet, you push the upper limits of vehicles, same here
I got one of those savox servos out of chance to fit and what a beast!

Subbed!
whats you take on shocks? I'm finding the stock shock ,lightly greased is best so far for slow crawling,i tried a stiffer Rc4wd shock,.?

@@EXPIOWA The shocks are an emulsion shock, that's how I set mine up is by ratios, air and a super thick goop mixture I've made
I've hit 67 in my stock trx4, just from my setup, you said 73, man that's something

I performed way better with my c10 just under the wheel base of the gladiator Im running deadbolt in the rear C10 rears in the front
Different obstacles require different things. Find the one that works best where you crawl. : )
@@EXPIOWAI totally agree honestly I kinda made my little course catered to my wheel base when I think about it lol
