The fact that you have to bring the mouse back to make a higher sound, and the mouse forward to make a lower sound is actually genius. You would expect your mouse movement to go with the circle, but that would be lazy. You said that you used to play trombone, but you should know that bringing the slide back makes a higher sound, and vice versa.
