This harkens me back to when I was just a young lad, living on my family's almond farm in Northern California. And sure, I had a lot of chores, but my toughest one by far was waking up at 5 am every morning and heading out to the barn to milk the almonds. Sure, the cows always looked at me like I was crazy when I hooked up the milking machine to those freshly picked nuts, but I remained undeterred. Because folks would come from miles around to buy our "freshly squeezed" almond milk, some say the finest almond milk in all of Northern California.
Facts are simple. If you are truly 100% Vegan . There is absolutely nothing sold on any market except produce, fruits and all nuts , berries , anything that is not processed in anyway possible. All types of milks on any market is processed , period. And in order to maintain the longest shelf life possible. They must be added with some type of preservative to avoid spoiling . Salt and, or sugars are used for this a lot. If you want 100% vegan milks . You must make them yourself at home .
Just watched a video where they called almond milk “oxalate milk”… it’s confusing… I just want something to make my licuado with in the morning and that doesn’t ruin my intestines… 😕
I realize this is an older video, but I still have a question. I've made your recipe twice, but what i really need to know is; should you remove the fat from the top, or mix it in with your smoothie? When I made it and smoothed it with blueberries, strawberries and more, all I could taste is coconut?
Hmmm.... I actually love making my own almond milk but I agree it is kinda time consuming. What's cool about it is I use three cups almonds. I peel 2 cups and leave 1 cup with skins on. Once all the blending and straining is done. I end up gently cooking the batch with the skins on until it thickens. Let it cool and mix together. Add a pinch of salt and 2 to 3 teaspoons of real maple and I'm in heaven. I just ventured out and tried mixing some canned coconut cream with it. Liked it alot actually and was kinda curious about the process because I prefer things be uncooked.❤
Hey Autumn, great video! There are a couple of other foods that I would love your thoughts on. What do you think about lentil and chickpea pastas instead of normal pasta? Is it a better substitute, in moderation, or is best to avoid altogether and go for the real thing as a treat? Thanks so much!
Hannah Barber thanks for watching!! 🤓 this is an amazing topic - I’ll add it to my TH-cam content list and film it soon!! I briefly discuss this in my video on 10 health foods that aren’t actually healthy, so you can get some initial information with it there in the meantime!
While you did a good job highlighting the overall issues and concerns with mass-produced plant-based milk products, you didn't actually answer the question in the title or description. Sigh...
Coconut is healthy because it’s all natural and almonds has cyanide which is very high and it is a very toxic chemical almonds are not suppose to be consumed.
I grew up on bottled cows milk and I remembered it was yummy and filling as well. Hmm I’m wondering whether to go back on it like they did throughout history. Back in history there wasn’t so many obese people like there is today. I will try almond but I will keep cows milk in the back of my mind.
You're smart. It's rare that there's a nutritionist willing to give their time. I hope TH-cam, positive comments and all of the extra work makes up for that. Almond vs Coconut Milk video. Please redo. The audio was left channel only. But more importantly, there's no "next step" that you gave to viewers. I know, this video was from 2019, and the you right now isn't the you right now. What do I mean? Take Thomas DeLauer for example, he's not a Nutritionist, but is the best nutritional "content" on youtube that I can find. He'll go on and on, yet he'll make product recommendations and say so much that you'll question it all, and after doing research, find he's right. If there some science that isn't being publicized in Nutrition, and you can send that in an entertaining video, you will make a difference. Think of the food industry. You'd kick superwoman and wonder woman's ass, with only your words for all I'm concerned. Think about the food industry and what everybody experiences. There's videos of people that went to markets to compare the labels on all products in a category. For example, a video called "The Best Bread To Buy" 2.4M views, and it's astonishing just how bad the bread aisle is today. There isn't a bread aisle anymore lol, it moved to the frozen section. And another video "Protein Powders at Walmart". You're brilliant and if I could push a button to know what you do, I would. People don't want to see what you buy. They want to see everything possible to buy and for you to help guide them towards the best option. Make it a game, make it entertaining, don't solve it for them in the first minute of the video. There's a reason people are watching that content, they're on their phones, which every thing inside of it is a game itself. If you want to see how deep something like that could get, wikipedia: game theory, or just watch the ted conference on it like I did. Try tiktok, if you can cram something funny into 60 seconds, or sum up your videos into 60 seconds like Bob & Brad do, try it. I believe testing stuff on tiktok to find what works for you, will carry onto youtube to make the entertainment format people keep watching for. Don't clickbait titles again. Your downvotes, if someone watches an entire video and it doesn't fulfill the title you put on the video, they'll downvote and unsubscribe, dunno if that helps. btw, I love intermittent fasting as well and I can't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to retire with just youtube moneys other than the content, structure of that content, and quality of the video. copy what works and make it your own (ala Bruce Lee) cause the world needs you. :)

LMAO! This is priceless.
I would expect a bit more insights on nutritional comparison between these two types of "milk" This video kind of didn't really answer the question.
Like a CEO's Letter to Shareholders when having a losing year. Lots of words. Didn't say a thing.

I use both. I prefer coconut for my coffee and almond in smoothies and for baking/cooking.
My left earbud enjoyed this
Another thing to keep in mind is how unsustainable almonds are. It takes 1 gallon of water to grow 1 single almond.
That’s true!
Wow

Thanks for sharing. Hope I can find the recipe among your videos.
Homemade Hemp milk is SUPER easy to make and very nutritious!! I highly recommend adding it to your list of plant based “milks”! 🌱
Right 😁 It is so easy since there's no straining when using hulled hemp seeds 😁🎉
Which is healthier?
Have you tried Elmhurst Milks? Allegedly only the nut and water...

The almond milk called MALK is amazing. Only three ingredients. 😊
I still don't know which is better. Did you forget the point of the video?
where do you find coconuts and how do you open them? They are sooooo hard to open!
Iam from India (kerala) we use coconut very much like in every dish and use Chinese knife or gaint knife to open them .
Do you have some info or a video on Almond vs Dairy milk? Which is better for you??

Hello, great vid ... do you have a link to coconut milk making procedure? TIA
Question here! I bought 80 calorie original coconut milk for my smoothie , should I stop buying that?

Coconut milk in the can from Trader Joe’s only have 2 ingredients, coconut and water

You try the coconut creamer? Also Costco carries the unsweetened coconut milk by Thai.
