Hi Dr V! I just wanted to let you know that what you’re doing in terms of educating specifically for skin of colour is extremely important and I am so glad you have chosen to pursue this completely sponsor free!! There are so many unique struggles for skin of colour and finally being able to understand ingredients and how they affect my skin has helps in so many ways. So thank you for all that you do and continue to do for our community!! You are a trailblazer and will start a movement in the skincare industry to be more colour inclusive and colour conscious !!! Thank you thank you thank you!

I love the vanicream body wash. I am going to try their cleanser. I haven't had an eczema breakout since 2013. I take cold showers (didn't have a choice in the Navy and in some countries, but my skin felt amazing). I use Ceramedx Ultra moisturising creme and paw paw ointment right after. I hope that those two are not harmful for skin of colour.

Dove is one of the last brands I ever use because it tears my skin up. 🙅🏽‍♀️ I am a person of color and I only use Olay body wash and L’occtaine Almond shower oil in the shower. Neither one of those break out my skin or irritate it. They are both very moisturizing. 😊

Could you do moisturisers for Black people please? I’m actually overwhelmed on the amount of information and it will be nice to list ingredients to look out for that don’t benefit our skin in body skincare products. Thank you for what u do on your platform.

    I have 3 more options for anyone else in the UK. All of these I have used and worked well for me, so give them a try if you'd like (they're cheap and easily accessible too!);
    1) Simple Hypoallergenic Shower Gel
    2) QV Gentle Wash (check your local pharmacies for these)
3)Baby Dove Sensitive Moisture Head To Toe Wash (make sure it's the one labelled 'sensitive', which is fragrance free).

Hey Dr V! There’s been a lot of debate on the internet about how to apply soap onto the body. Hands, wash clothes, or loofahs/body puffs. Could you do a video discussing this topic? Also, what would be the best way to exfoliate skin on the body? Chemical or physical exfoliation? Oh. And what are your thoughts about using emollients instead of soap when bathing.

I've been using Uriage Xemose Cleansing Oil body wash. It's great. It can find it at any Canadian and likely European drug store. Bioderma makes one too, but it has parfum in the ingredients even though it is advertised as fragrance free.

I use cerave foaming facial cleanser as my face and body wash. Slight cons is no fragrance (good/ bad), it doesn't lather as much as I would like and you have to use quite a few pumps. On the flip side no other body wash makes my skin feel this hydrated. I like to use minimal products.

Doctor, what about castile soaps? Dr. Bronnor's soap and liquid soaps come in baby scent to lavender and eucalyptus. Another castile soap manufacturer is Dr. Jacobs Naturals. Same product but more emollient than Bronners. All recommended to me during chemo/RTX. My skin is even more sensitive 15 years after cancer treatment and now I am DRIED out from head to toe.
Your videos inspire me and give me hope when I feel down about all the damage done to my body to cure cancer. Thank you.🎀

Use a gentle fragrance-free baby wash. Eucerin, Cerave, Vanicream, Dove, Aveeno, Cetaphil, etc. sell them.

Hi Dr V I have eczema and use the Boots derma care cream wash or the dermexa shown. Childs farm do a baby wash that is fragrance free with oats btw that works fine for me. For shampoo I use the Boots expert line for sensitive scalps which is fragrance and sulphate free (curly long thick hair and eczema prone scalp) and the corresponding scalp lotion. Best wishes.

Hi Dr. Rattan, I recently discovered your TH-cam channel and like binge watched it. I have been fighting hyperpigmentation for years, but with no result. You really helped me understand my skin and I have completely switched my skincare. Thank you so so much! I do have a question. I have had eczema in my past and I stopped using bodywash in the shower and only use water. I want to know if it is better to shower with or without bodywash?

Been waiting for this video! Dr Vanita I've been wondering about Hair care as I've been on this course for better hair (Hair Growth Lab by Sarah Tran). I am slightly sceptical and overwhelmed by the information given. Sulfates and Silicones and other ingredients are covered e.g. the fact that some sulfates aren't bad and are actually needed etc. The course is good but doesn't recommend products. Soo I was wondering if you could recommend any good shampoos and conditioners for Skin of colour because even the Paula's Choice shampoo you recommended had harmful ingredients in it (according to Sarah Tran/not me!). Thank you and sooo much love. Honestly I can't stop raving about your channel to my friends and family xx

Oh! what an useful video 👏🏼 Thank you Doc
Am switching over to products you advised for the family!
Requesting for (1) men’s basic skincare (face) and haircare products....the less products to use, the better and easier is their mantra :)
    (2) antioxidants for the day
......eagerly waiting for them. Much thanks Dr V, love - RUPA

Dr Vanita Rattan, is it possible to do videos about the sunscreen and serotonin? The sun stimulates seratonin release so would sunscreen blocks it?
