Wow! A great speech with excellent content. This is a must watch for growing kids. I will get this viewed by my daughter who is 13. Children really need to be brought up with an open mindset and they should see this.
Unfortunately, the audience don't seemed to be as enthusiastic as I was listening to this one.

Really a great speech. It is to be taken to every nook and corner of this state.
Why Bhuddisam was erased from India may not have recorded in our history but as Ambedkar said the actual history of India is the war between Bhuddisam and Hinduism.
Every Indian to put forward a question. When the Bhuddisam and Bhudda emerged from India and both have been celebrated in many other countries and in many contexts why both were referred but not adopted in the way it would have been?
Second question when the Hindu religion claims that it's the oldest and teaches many worthy matters, why not it was practised in many countries?
When there were so many references in books about the existence of Bhudda Vihars where are they now?

A good lecture promoting the practicing of Scientific Temper. But, the problem is that such lectures have to be simplified like that of Periyar so that it reaches a common man. It is like the books written by the great intellectual B.R. Ambedkar.

For this man i want to say..
That over relience on rational thinking and western driven scientific thinking is also a form of superstition, as in the pursuit of rationality the scientific inquiry rising out of curiosity gets limited due to such over reliance. From 200bc to 1200 CE ancient Indian knowledge dominated the entire eastern hemisphere of the world and this phenomenon called indosphere.. meaning Indias sphere of influence. Infact this is the primary for the knowledge thrived western minds to look for India to gain answers for the scientific inquiries which is thoroughly lacking in there traditional knowledge. This speaker has relied the most rudimentary form of argument to put across his point as his case lacks merit he has simply ridiculed the existence of traditional knowledge in the eastern world by form of his opinions as a scientist he should have examined the validity of traditional knowledge through hypothesis contradictions and facts but this requires and openness in mind to accept the possibility of existence of an alternate fact and knowledge. But the western trained scientist of today have became inadvertently gullible to the western sciences which draws its glory by merely ridiculing the knowledge and principles which do not fit into the predetermined minds of western scientific world, i think this also qualifies as a form of superstition because they are blinded by the sludge propagated by western thoughts.

Think of a 1,000 scientific discoveries and inventions that have made a significant difference to the world and the way we live and work.
Can you list 20 things that originated in India? Or, at least 10 things?
India did make significant contributions in mathematics, metallurgy, medicine, architecture, etc between 5th century BCE and 8th century CE but almost nothing of note from 8th century CE to 19th century CE. That's because India was riddled with superstitions and useless rituals and our people lost their scientific temper during this period.
Science is universal, there is nothing like 'Indian science', 'Chinese science' or 'Western science'. Science is the common heritage of all mankind. Parochialism has no place in Science. Science unites, Religion divides.
I may be missing something. Can you please enlighten me with specific facts and figures rather than making vague, general comments?

Scientific temperament is appreciable. But science itself is a relative truth. It is is unable to answer a vast majority of existential and sentient connections. So let's be rationale but not critical of all practices without full evaluation.
Every person has a right to faith as long as it is not harmful to fellow beings and nature.
Sanatana Dharma is very open and questioning is most welcome and that is the only way.
Sadly Buddhism is on a decline it's not the only path as is being projected here.
Let's have the scientific spirit to understand existence and consciousness rather than live in a material world alone.

Scientific temper also includes admitting things that you have no understanding about. The speaker has no understanding of Hinduism which he tries to ridicule. A real scientist sticks to his field of enquiry. Spirituality is a realm that science is yet to explain. The fact that he is tolerated and is able to go about his business without any hassle is testimony to the tolerance of Hinduism. Had he ridiculed Islam or Christianity for that matter, he would be hiding in some obscure hole.

Can you please point out where I have ridiculed Hinduism? Pointing out the absurd statements made by some so-called educated people who should know better is not 'ridiculing Hinduism' as you put it. Do these guys represent Hinduism in your opinion? If you listen to the video fully, you will find that I've criticised Christianity and Islam in many places. I've also said that Buddhism got corrupted with superstitions later on and only Buddhism as originally taught by the Buddha was rational. Please read my reply to another gentleman (Vedic Living or whatever) who made a somewhat similar comment.

    • @madhuryaray7783

Just because science is yet to explain many things doesn't naturally mean that god, religion or spirituality has to fill the void... not knowing is a part of scientific exploration.. just because we don't know about many things yet, doesn't mean religion or spirituality can make any ridiculous theories about them and everyone has to abide by it ... read about the god of gaps.. and yes he hasn't ridiculed Hinduism... he has simply ridiculed the superstitions

Despite such a clear speech, your eyes are still closed. You clearly are an example of one who denies to think rational. There is nothing to be offended or to challenge here if you can think rationally.
