Love this longer version... Song continues to evolve

This is the first live version I've heard in the key of B (via transposition on the digital keys). I think it's MUCH better for his vocal than B-flat was. I love how the band's arrangement continues to evolve.

Best version live since it's released.

I think some people cant get past the ear worm of the perfect pitch corrected studio version in a key he cant perform live with any consistency hence always being dropped live. I actually like this in this slightly higher live key, way more expression and the band arrangement is so good. Vocals not perfect, but they cant be. Agree with the first poster who said this is the best live version yet

Personally I like the live versions of this song better. I love the perfectly imperfect, real (aren't we all?), grittier, genuine Billy sound. I'll take it and day over auto corrected monotone fake sounding no emotion studio recordings.
This right here is pure Billy taking you on a ride of all the emotions of this amazing song.
Appreciate that he's in his 70s and he still sounds amazing. I've seen grown men. Ry at his concerts.
If you like pitch corrected fake perfect you probably shouldn't go to concerts unless they're lip syncing. But most of us adore Billy just like this.
      🎹😎♥️

Yesss to picking up the tempo! Drums should come in with vocals... My 2 cents

The tempo is finally back up to speed. Best part was how it started out of the blue... PLEASE, OPEN THE DOOR. Rip it! No little piano intro

The upbeat version is better, but Billy seems to struggle with this song live. Just my thoughts.

I completely agree. At the Grammy's he played it a whole tone flat, now he's taken it up a half, but still not the original key, and this time he only lost the first note or two, whereas other live performances he's had trouble with the whole first verse. Great song - wish he could nail it all the way through!

@alanvaytsman888 close, but you expect a C and get a B, it gets on my nerves, lol

@alanvaytsman888 umm, not sure I understand the comment. That is what I said, my ear wants to hear C when he plays it in B it bugs me :-) Don't need a tool for that....

He plays it in C. It's in C

@@jivebig5 Live he plays in C but his digital piano is transposed down 1/2 a tone. The track above is on B
