And everytime I see someone who is like 65 years old and has tattoos I always think that grandpa is a badass and the tattoos look great even if they have completely faded. One day I wanna be a badass grandpa like that thats why I got myself 2 fullsleeves tats and my chest done in the last year and now i've started with my legs

This resonates so much with me!! I'm only 24 but I remember vividly seeing someone with a blackout forearm in the supermarket back when I was 14 and totally fell in love with how it looked. At 22 I started a sleeve in my right arm (ornamental with quite a bit of black) but even though I really liked it I didn't feel fulfilled, so I started to blackout my arm last month and I'm feeling more myself than ever! You look amazing and I have so much respect for you for doing those arms in so few sessions! Sending greetings from Uruguay😊

It still has some design which I feel goes very well with my body's shape and makes me feel incredible, but images are visually too much for me in my own body. I like the bold and sleek look and I feel it's just an extension of how I like my life -minimally without too much clutter.
Man I'm getting ready to do the same thing. I believe in self expression, if you aren't hurting anyone it shouldn't make. We only get one chance to smell, see, and taste what life has to offer, please people take advantage of that.

I had tattoos from my elbow up . First I had a raven flying through a storm. I didn’t like it. Then I had it covered up to look like straps I got tired of it. Then I had it made to look like a robotic arm. And finally I blacked it out completely and I had a spider and a web on my forearm and my tattoo artist worked it into that. I get mixed reactions but it seems like nowadays people really enjoy it. I guess it’s a new generation. Sometimes it freaks me out but I try to keep it looking really nice and shiny and I like it much better. Any tips ?? Thanks 🙏🏻

I just blackened the inside of my whole arm 2 weeks ago to cover an old motive... the first two weeks went relatively well and since 3 days I feel very depressed because all the fears come up. I have already received a lot of criticism from my closest people and I fear that I will have to live with even more criticism and stigmatization in the future, that gives me currently hard to deal with. I believe 16 years is long enough to want a permanent body mod, and really ponder how it will look and what the possible repercussions may be. I got my first tattoo at 24, the second at 32, with the time gaps between each tattoo narrowing until the eighth one at age 44. I may want more in the future (with full support of my spouse), but I would never get more just for the sake of having more. The urge and the theme have to 'slam' my mind, and then I give serious thought to placement and design. I have yet to regret any, and I'm convinced that has to do with waiting till youth was ending and my impulsivity somewhat 'plateaued' out. The inked 'old folks' will have lots of company!

People dye their hair or get piercings to change things to their liking, so what’s the difference. I’m happy, I have nothing visible to the public that is offensive. I adore the artwork I have, and that’s truly it, artwork. I have what I want, bevause life is way too freaking short. I’m also a ward sister in the surgery department of my local hospital, I run it. Some people assume that every time I come out of a tattoo session I’m just a little bit dumber and less competent at my job ... no honey my degrees in psychology, biology and anatomy, sociology, trauma care, medicine etc are still there, I didn’t have my brain tattooed and scarred my brain tissue. Live your best life, do what you wanna. I love your blackout sleeves, they suit you so good, it’s not something I’m into for me but that’s not the point, I’m sure you wouldn’t want a bunch of the artwork I’ve chosen for myself on your body. I am inspired to find a space to get something heavily blacked with negative space artwork though, my artistic senses are tingling. I haven’t had any work done in about 10 years when I finished my neck with a throat piece. I found a local artist who is looking to convert to doing mostly blackout work and we have a session set up for Thursday. I am hoping to get my whole left arm done in the one session but I am not sure. I am 45 and am far from perfect health and believe it’s time for me. I have enjoyed your insight and posts. All I know is don’t wait to get what you want if it’s something you really want and can do it. All you will do is waste time. If you are scared not because you are truly scared but Becusee what others think then spend that time fixing yourself. Great video, you're very charismatic and a natural story teller, but you didn't necessarily address why you ''shouldn't have gotten it''. The only reason I can think of personally having some blackwork is that it gets fucking hot in the summer, and the idea of it being trendy makes me want to vomit. But I think we're over the 2015 blackout trend. It'll never go totally mainstream, in the same way that Cannibal corpse appearing in Ace Ventura didn't suddenly make death metal popular. Some things are just too extreme for the masses. Also, look up Myanmar Shan warrior, they've been blacking out their bodies for thousands of years. It was originally a rite of passage when you killed your first enemies.

I was wondering if it was more practical reasons like heat, or the permanence like you mentioned. But even then, you can get scarification and white ink, or a fresh-coat of black designs. So here is a question for you...3 years later. Let me preface that I don't have any tattoos so I don't quite know the process for what happens with healing. Could you more fully explain why there was scarring on your left shoulder? I don't understand. Also, they look awesome.
When I got my first tattoo at 18 I was unsure where I wanted it but I kind of wanted it on my chest. Listen, it was the age of Eve and she had those awesome ass claw pints don’t judge! lol. I told the artist but then said what everyone else had said to ME “but, what about when you’re 70 or 80?!” The artist looks at me so serious and says “who the hell is gonna want to see your tits at that age!?!?” 😂 needless to say I went with the placement I wanted. I’m 37 still love it, but now I want a blackout tattoo to cover a tattoo that’s a painful reminder of my ex who committed suicide in 2018. It’s on my hand I work in a public setting but I don’t even care to think what someone else may think about it. I just need to turn a painful memory into something that makes me smile. At the end of the day make yourself happy and others will join you. ❤️
How do I know this i what I want. Like I think about this type of tattoo all day every day, everyday I lookup videos about this style of tattoo just like I did for you this is really the only thing that I want rn and I've taken into concept how this would effect my future and all I can see is literally nothing due to the career path that I'm going to take I don't really ever stop thinking about doing this they just look absolutely beautiful to me and have meaning to me like am I ready I do endless research every day specifically about this tattoo.

Fyi pain level for lazor tattoo removal is the same but it takes several treatments and for solid black like that would probably take about 20 treatments so you would have to go through that pain several times and it will really mess up the skin worse than any tattoo will
I have a somewhat blacked out part of a tattoo to cover a previous tattoo and now that it’s healed, you can see the tattoo underneath it as if it was part of the new tattoo, it looked great and completely black when it was done, would you suggest just to keep getting it touched up until it’s dark enough

i know some ppl get black outs bc they get tired lookin at their old choices they made, but dude u work look sick! I would of kept the old ones or maybe suggest laser, then tattoo over again. either way ur a rad human, stay blessed!

I'm 25 and don't have any tattoos (the price always stopped me and I don't want to have small tattoos). But it's already such a long time when I'm sure that one day I'll have a huge blackout tattoo. But I want to leave some negative space.
I love Blackwork, I just got the top of my arm done with the punisher skull and deadpool logo in it and I fucking love it. Fuck what other people think it's your life, your skin do what you like

Love your stuff bro. I have around 230 hours under the needle at this point , and have been contemplating black out sleeves for about 3 years now. I haven’t had any work done in about 10 years when I finished my neck with a throat piece. I found a local artist who is looking to convert to doing mostly blackout work and we have a session set up for Thursday. I am hoping to get my whole left arm done in the one session but I am not sure. I am 45 and am far from perfect health and believe it’s time for me. I have enjoyed your insight and posts. I hated those stick n poke biker tats too. Why I always liked solid color ink. Now I have a black arm done over some old traditional tattoos I was tired of looking at. I just did a second pass over the black the other day. Ouchhhh & Oh how times have changed!!! 🖤🖤🖤😅

I like the blackout. I would do some white design on it myself after doing a few more sessions of black, but yours is cool as is if that is what you want. By the way, I'm 68......

Will you black out other parts of the body? I totally approve the black expansion. I love the idea of full body black out except some areas like hands, face and feet.

The only negative I can see is that it makes your arms look super thin in comparison to your torso.
All I know is don’t wait to get what you want if it’s something you really want and can do it. All you will do is waste time. If you are scared not because you are truly scared but Becusee what others think then spend that time fixing yourself. Once you figure out why you care about others opinions in a way they change your life or prevent what you want you will see they don’t matter
Great video, you're very charismatic and a natural story teller, but you didn't necessarily address why you ''shouldn't have gotten it''. The only reason I can think of personally having some blackwork is that it gets fucking hot in the summer, and the idea of it being trendy makes me want to vomit. But I think we're over the 2015 blackout trend. It'll never go totally mainstream, in the same way that Cannibal corpse appearing in Ace Ventura didn't suddenly make death metal popular. Some things are just too extreme for the masses.
Also, look up Myanmar Shan warrior, they've been blacking out their bodies for thousands of years. It was originally a rite of passage when you killed your first enemies.

I was wondering if it was more practical reasons like heat, or the permanence like you mentioned. But even then, you can get scarification and white ink, or a fresh-coat of black designs. It's endless.

The one and only reason why I shouldn't have gotten this according to others is because I'll regret it when I'm older, thing is I waited until I got older to finally get the sleeves done. When I got my first tattoo at 18 I was unsure where I wanted it but I kind of wanted it on my chest. Listen, it was the age of Eve and she had those awesome ass claw pints don’t judge! lol. I told the artist but then said what everyone else had said to ME “but, what about when you’re 70 or 80?!” The artist looks at me so serious and says “who the hell is gonna want to see your tits at that age!?!?” 😂 needless to say I went with the placement I wanted. I’m 37 still love it, but now I want a blackout tattoo to cover a tattoo that’s a painful reminder of my ex who committed suicide in 2018. It’s on my hand I work in a public setting but I don’t even care to think what someone else may think about it. I just need to turn a painful memory into something that makes me smile. At the end of the day make yourself happy and others will join you. ❤️

How do I know this i what I want. Like I think about this type of tattoo all day every day, everyday I lookup videos about this style of tattoo just like I did for you this is really the only thing that I want rn and I've taken into concept how this would effect my future and all I can see is literally nothing due to the career path that I'm going to take I don't really ever stop thinking about doing this they just look absolutely beautiful to me and have meaning to me like am I ready I do endless research every day specifically about this tattoo.

I thought you were going to say . Because it gets burnt and is susceptible to skin cancer as I got fried in the sun and ended up having a sun spot cut out ..
Fyi pain level for lazor tattoo removal is the same but it takes several treatments and for solid black like that would probably take about 20 treatments so you would have to go through that pain several times and it will really mess up the skin worse than any tattoo will
I have a somewhat blacked out part of a tattoo to cover a previous tattoo and now that it’s healed, you can see the tattoo underneath it as if it was part of the new tattoo, it looked great and completely black when it was done, would you suggest just to keep getting it touched up until it’s dark enough

I've seen it done... With proper aftercare it should heal quite nicely.
Looks amazing... can you please please please let me know which black ink was used. Im in my early 40s and I want to do this to myself as well but all the inks I see heal are off color...
