I haven't learned classical music. Neither do I sing. But I do listen music a lot. When I am at home, my neighbours really know that this fellow is at home or is on leave. This rendition of " Ajitha hare...... " by Sri. Sreevalsan G Menon is something something special. I listen it repeatedly. Its soothing effect mesmerising.
The low profile musician is one of the best in professional excellence by all standards. Still he hasn't got the recognition due. Poor marketing, or is it that he doesn't belong to the dominant community ?

He is a man with no ethics and unnecessary interfering others matters rather than focusing on him. Yes, he is talented, but he never reach anywhere because of his mindset.

He is not dominant because he lost focus and went into the film industry...the "dominant community" didn't become dominant because of films, but because of their mental discipline and spirituality. They lost that discipline and spirituality over the last 300 years, and are now subject to ridicule from morons like Vijayan
The rendering style is neither Carnatic nor Kathakali in pure form. That is one problem with Dr Sreevalsan Menon. I feel, he as well as many malayali Carnatic singers need more involvement with what they develop in their singing. It's nothing of caste or community.
Don't agree with your views. This sing though basically used fir kathakali renders itself well to carnatic music also. By your logic viruthams shoukd not figure in carnatic music nor Thirupavai rge ragams fir which were not given by Andal but probably other notable singers like Aryakudi. So I don't think your views are correct.

SJ Menon is a talented singer, unfortunately he spoiled this Padam by casting it in the typical RTP framework. 😤 Hyderali, Kottackal Madhu and Pathiyoor Sankaran Kutty et al., have rendered it so nice in traditional style!
Yes .... He spoiled it. This padam particularly is to be rendered in its original way, as s kadha kali padam. Neither mrudangam nor violin suits it. Absolutely makes no sense, no feel and bhavam. His attempted gamakam made it even worse. .....ഇത് കേട്ടാൽ ഗൾഫ് യുദ്ധത്തിന് ശേഷം സദാം ഹുസൈൻ ജോർജ് ബുഷ്നെ ചെന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ പാടിയപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു. കഷ്ടം.
