I've got to say the progress over the last few weeks has been amazing to watch... truly inspiring I'm sure the fact that winter is coming is giving yall some great motivation haha
@@franzlubeck9669 thank you! Definitely the winter gets us grooving, but it is also just the time frame we are on and simply how the build progresses, at some point things are able to just go a bit faster. ✌🏾💜
I am grateful to bring some calm to your days 😊 we did a lot of building on our MT homestead 😅 bringing all that experience to build #5 in AZ! Take care as well! ☺️✌🏾💜
I buy green olive oil bottles, when empty..they are washed well, rinsed well, then they are put above the kitchen sink window. Our city water smells so filling up the bottles and waiting a few days, while the smell goes away. Works for me. I like the green bottles poured for the house plants..seems healthy to me. I like green bottles the best and then the water in the bottles with the sunshine pleases me so. I never see blue glass bottles but if I did that would be cool to pour them for the plants too. Green for growth and blue for water..Love the concept..
Just to make sure I understand the build, this bottle wall is the south wall, right? Separating the residence from a semi-indoor area for plants? And you won't have any big windows in the other 3 directions?
Yes! That is correct 😃 so we get to absorb as much sun through the windows/bottle walls, during the winter to keep warm, and a bit less in the summer to stay cool ✌🏾💜
@ so cozy! And amazingly effective in keeping warm. In our MT EarthShips when winters would get down to -60 or colder, always “warm” inside (60 ish) even without a fire going. They are amazing structures 🥰
When I have to harvest tomatoes or peppers earlier than I would have liked, I leave the fruit on the plant when I pull it up, and hang them by the roots. Would than help to get sunflower seeds to maturity?
@@louiseswart1315 in my experiences when it comes to getting seeds to maturity and having good germination rates it’s more about leaving the plant in the ground as long as you can so it can give as much to the fruit or seed as long as it can. Hanging upside down then helps to dry things out and cure better. And avoid molds. But can definitely help to mature things too! Many ways to reach the same goals. I will do more hanging for some things when we build a root cellar 🤗✌🏾💜

loving watching your progress, you and Brandon are both awesome xx
We appreciate that so much! 🥰✌🏾💜
You're colder at night than we are here! Crazy! Lol loving the progress you guys are awesome. Sending all the love 🖤🖤🖤
It’s been oddly chilly down here from what we are told. The weathers doing a swaparoonie on us! Sending all the love to you back! 🥰💜🧡💜🧡

@@a_fellow_homesteader That sounds very cozy, being buried in the earth from three sides.
