@37kelso909 The era that Super Impose raced had EVERYTHING. It had more depth than at any other time in Austraian racing history. He was as good as any swooper that's raced in this country. Comparing him to a horse from a complete different era is always treacherous. Have a look at his Cox Plate win in '92. Tulloch never beat a field with that much quality. I don't think any other horse has. JMO.
Overall records are one thing, but the ability of Super Impose to do what he did in these races is another. The Epsom and Doncaster Handicaps have both been run for over 100 years, and no horse apart from him has ever won both races twice, the weights he carried to victory were amongst the biggest in history, and certainly the biggest since the introduction of the metric system.
Very true. Super Impose could not get near Vo Rogue in Melbourne at Wfa.. Then again Vo Rogue was not the same in Sydney with only one win. Vo's presence in either of those big miles would not have changed the winner. Super Impose was an incredible handicapper. Better Loosen Up tamed Vo Rogue, they were 3-1 on a head to head basis
One thing about Super Impose, you always got your moneys worth....champion horse who seemed to know exactly where the line was... it was always a thrill to have a few bucks riding on him :)
I love Super, probably my favourite horse of all time but come on...as good as Tulloch?? Even I would admit that Better Loosen Up at his best would beat Super more often than not at WFA.
An amazing horse who raced in a generation of stars!! I loved this horse !!!
What a wonderfully dramatic and brave horse.

These are the most amazing wins I have seen
That last win was simply ridiculous! About 200 out, Super Impose just exploded through traffic. What a horse!
Loved this horse and one of my all time favs but he still couldn't beat Vo Rouge,he was a freak

@@666dr . The days when people spoke of a good few great horses. Much more exciting than only one, like today.

There's a reason you still cheer these wins 20 years later - the horse was a freak!
