    I've had my Harvey Alpha saw for about six weeks and, this weekend, I finally found the time to work on my latest project. I have a couple of thoughts.
    First, I am lucky enough to have a proper 20 amp circuit in my shop. I do have a 230V circuit, for that's dedicated to charging my EV. If I ever decide to convert the saw to 230V, I won;t have to order any parts. (such as with the Laguna F2, another saw I considered) as it comes with everything except the plug. Nice.
    The miter gauge is outstanding. I have been conditioned not to trust miter gauge scales, but this one is just about perfect. It is a pleasure to use.
    Now, for what I don't like and it's a big one. I really don't like the blade guard. I'm one of those people who actually uses the guard whenever possible. I really wanted to like this one. But it's hard to use with the miter gauge as it is almost impossible to see the cut line. Of course, it can be removed. However that brings me to me second issue: It's not easy. the release needs a long finger to activate and it takes quite a hefty pull to remove the riving knife. Which brings me to the third issue. I had removed the guard to set up a mitered cut and when I set it down, the hinged acrylic panel on the fence side broke at the pivot point. I managed to superglue it back together but this was a real disappointment, it's just too fragile. For now I"m going to live with this, but it needs to be addressed to really allow this saw to do what it can do.
    Now, having said all that, the saw is really quite good. The finish and precision of the parts is a step up from the Grizzly 1023 I used to have. The fence glides nicely and locks in place tightly. I really like the overhead dust collection, even with my small dust collector, only a small amount of dust escapes. Accuracy is very good. The top came properly aligned right out of the box the included accessories such as the dado insert are very nicely made being anodized aluminum.

    I have been looking for a better saw for a long time. Just ordered the Harvey alpha 52 inch 4hp. So excited after coming from store brand low power saws.

    Love Izzy’s work and comments on his posts. Was actually looking for his thoughts on the Harvey saw. I’m looking at their saws and viewing as many different brands to see which one users prefer, their likes and dislikes, but this “review” didn’t talk much about the saw itself. But I’ll keep watching Izzy’s stuff. Great channel.

      Hey Ed! If you follow Izzy on Instagram you can find more content on the table saw itself and he's told us it will be the last table saw he owns! Thanks for watching!

    Nice organization! I wish to become that organized but the shop is 26 years old and I’m still working on it.

    Thank you, great idea with the drawers underneath. Do you get any dust on the top by using the feeder instead of the dust shroud?

    Thanks for showing us some possibilities. I would like to mount a draw on the right side of my Harvey like you did, how did you attach it to the iron top?

    Rushed over to get me one of those last infeed tables because we have our new Harvey coming in this week. They are already all sold out. 😢 Well, I shouldn't have missed this when you first posted, huh? So happy for both of you in your newest adventures.

    Beautiful setup. Hoping to buy a Harvey TS soon. Which model is Izzy using? Still deciding whether I need a 3HP 220 or can safely get away with the standard outlet config considering I do a lot of hardwood.

      @HarveyIndustriesIntl  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you know you’re doing a lot of hardwoods we’d recommend the 3hp and if you’re setting up a new 220 outlet you can also consider the 4hp S model. Both are also now available with the Big Eye Fence included (PG & G Models)

    That's nice material, but for the Price I dont understand you dont buy a hammer or SCM machine that is maybe little bit more extensive but so much better in everything.
    More power, biggest table, huge précision, more optionnal stuff etc...

    Where did you get the shelf that is attached to the router table legs that hold the router fence? Do you have the plans? Dimensions etc?

    I’m amazed at the machines and tools that Harvey and Bridgeworks has to offer, I payed $$$ for a measuring tool only to find out it was made in China. There was nothing wrong with the quality and I’m pleased with performance. I did inquire with Harvey about the Made in China issue and received a very polite, detailed explanation of why Harvey’s tools come from China. Essentially the response was that they couldn’t get funding in the U.S. and labor met a lot to be desired. So they took their ideas and skills to China. There is well documented history of Communist China stealing American intellectual property and anyone can see that China is striving to sub plant the U.S. as the worlds dominate power. Personally I’ll take my flawed government over communism any day so I can’t support Harvey. They sold out to the Chinese.
