This makes me cry, the fucking nostalgia. I remember when I first got my Wii and played around in this channel. I didn't have any photos, but for some reason there were already screenshots in the photo channel (the Wii was probably used) and I played around with them. I especially found the puzzling fun and I believe I became pretty good at it. Why the hell didn't the Wii U have cool channels like the Wii? Heck, it doesn't even have a photo channel, which I always found super weird.

That’s more than likely because it was mainly made by one person, Kazumi Totaka He’s the one that made all of the Wii music from the menu, to the Wii’s channels and some games as well, like Wii Sports
Okay..... I hated the Wii hardware from its launch, all the way until the superior, high-definition Wii U came out... But I will forever miss the quirkiness of the Wii's user interface and the music of its basic included applications. For example, the flute used at 0:21 sounds very decidedly retro even for the 2006 Wii, almost as if preserving memories of the Super Nintendo and Mario Paint. But it's an absolutely delightful sound, and is something that is noticeably missing from the 3DS and Wii U's system applications Edit, 4/2018: The Switch has nothing... No Wii-like quirky music or interfaces... Not even 3DS or Wii U-like interfaces/music... Just nothing, like a PS4 or Xbox One. I feel like crying...
yeah, the switch lacks a lot of the charm the wii had. and the slight charm the wii u had too. i was heartbroken when there was no mii making music for switch.
Wii U is like spoon feeding little children in video games. Back in 2006, the original was more difficult and challenging. Plus the music was so much better.
While I agree that Wii games were more challenging than Wii U games, I still think you're not reaching far back enough. I was raised on NES and Game Boy games that I still can't beat *to this very day*, as well as SNES/N64/GameCube/GBA games that were difficult enough to push some story-driven games into triple-digit hours in the play time counters before I actually finished them. On the Wii, I never had such hurdles, and big story-driven games took me roughly 30 hours on average. (though, I expect Xenoblade to take me way past 50 hours when I have my first playthrough)
