    I find its great to get away from it all on a bike in some fine countryside like this. It sort of reinvigorates a bit. Thanks for this video.

    Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I grew up in Leek and fondly remember the Roaches and Tittesworth. It was especially nice to see the heather in bloom. Now living on the other side of the world ....

      Happy I brought back memories for you. On the next Staffordshire Moorlands video (yet to be edited), I will be meeting Martin Trafford (Moorlands Biker), who will then take me on a magical mystery tour to Warslow. Might be quite a long video, in not so perfect weather at times. Thank you.

    Thank you Ian. I really enjoyed this video. Thanks to you for all the effort you put into recording these sweet rides. My surgeon said “no motorcycles for four months!” I just had my hip replacement, and your videos make my day.

    A nice portrayal of my patch Ian thanks.
    The factory premises at Upper Hulme was one of several built by one of the largest textile companies in the area....a big local employer - later split up into various smaller concerns.
    The local rock/stone is gritstone or millstone grit (used to make millstones for grain mills)
    How very dare you ride your nasty, noisy motorcycle on the public road! Unforgivable!! 😅
    You can see now what a horrible job I had as local copper to the area - somebody had to do it! 🤔😅
    Thanks again Ian. 👍

    Another cracking ride Ian, a beautiful part of the country and you found some lovely lanes to explore, I stayed at that camp sight a few years ago and was wanting to leave early about 5am and I was so determined that I wouldn’t forget to post the barrier key that I did it before I was out of the barrier 😂 I had to wait for someone to go to the toilet and ask them to let me out 😂 didn’t think the warden would be happy if I knocked them up at that time 😂 all the best buddy 👍

    Good to see you, and nice to see Ann walking Pip, love the moorlands, Sunday rides were always good there, sadly the only Roaches we see are cockroaches, lovely they are not! CHEERS, DINO, PANDA, And BOYS. Ps, you can tell it's Summer by the cars dumped along the roads.

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Dino and the gang. When we lived in Nantwich, we often bazzed along the Leek to Buxton road at silly speeds, but nowadays finding these brilliant lanes is where I get my pleasure. That ice cream seller obviously gets a good trade too 🫣

    Hi Ian, good to see you both out and about enjoying yourselves and I hope Ann's appointments go well. That was a great little ride through an area I'm not very familiar with, the views over to Cheshire and Shropshire were worth the wee climb. I finally got an MOT last week and had a couple of good rides myself over the weekend, with lots of faffing about trying to get decent sound from the audio recorder and a 360 view of the Moray and Dornoch Firths, strange coincidences! Cheers, Mick

    A nice video. I like to do it in reverse from Leek Sainsbury’s back to home in the moorlands. Lots of lanes to explore around us very spoilt. Enjoy Audlem, we moor our canal boat up from Audlem overlooking the Wrekin so when I see the Wrekin from hi up in the moorlands I’ve literally looking over our boat. Ride safe.

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Nev. We enjoy our annual pilgrimage to Overwater Marina caravan club cl. We lived on narrowboat’s for 8 years. Started on a 42ft semi trad (Rhoda May), then a 62ft tug with old school mechanicals (Ben Truman no4), then a 50ft trad (Chardonnay) which we did up to sell. Sometimes miss the boatie life. You certainly are spoilt for wonderful lanes. Take care

    • @yellownev
      @yellownev 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ianhughesroyalenfield that’s a decent boating CV ….we’ve just had our boat blacked at Overwater… a lovely place. I lived aboard for a couple of years at Fradley a great experience. Now we live in the Churnet Vally overlooking the Caldon, a canal I’ve done a few times including my retirement cruise when we made it thru the tunnel and into the basin. Hetties tea rooms are a good ride destination. I enjoy your videos thanks for making them

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @yellownev thanks Nev. So you will be familiar with Cheddleton then……about every other month, we stay with my brother in law in their cottage overlooking the canal (by The Boat pub). We are also rather familiar with the HolyBush, at Denford……what a pub that is 😎 been a bit wobbly in there a few times 😂

    • @yellownev
      @yellownev 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ianhughesroyalenfield yes we walked from Cheddleton to the Holybush a couple of weeks ago and I’ve called there on the Himalayan a couple of times when visiting Screwfix in Leek as there s a nice route from Cheddleton to Leek via the back lanes. As you said in your previous comment there are some great lanes …. I’m sure you watch Martin’s Moorlands Biker channel a great watch. Some good exploration over the other side of us on the lanes to Ashbourne via Alton and Wooton and the like. Get up onto the top of the Weaver hills off the A52 ( martins tractor run route) for some very far reaching views. The Himmy and the likes of the classic are perfect bimbling bikes

    Nice first pic Ian and that waterfall the first stretch of tarmac look really nice how rare is that 😉. Have to say if your on an open road with a dog it should be on a lead I reckon even if it just for the dogs safety . Gotta say why on earth do people throw rubbish at the side of the road when they have bins at home or there are an abundance of tips to be found in every area of the country I can not understand the mentality of the morons who do this .😡 fabulous views of the rolling countryside from that high point . A nice place for a cake and a coffee at that reservoir Ian that would suit me 😛.A lovely place staying too by the looks .👌👍

    What a lovely reservoir to visit, cafe looks great , thanks for sharing 😊. You have quite a big caravan to tow , how do you find it?

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Afternoon Donna, Zebedee is a Gobur Folding Caravan. When folded, the height is just over half the height of the van (if that makes sense), and only about 2 inches wider each side. Total length about 17ft. Honestly hardly know it’s there when towing, and no drag unlike a normal caravan. Here is a link from the manufacturer, though they ceased producing them in 2016. th-cam.com/video/Tszzs9mEcsw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=czpQbSuSdwsKptyF

    Hi Ian, Hope all is well, unklike the wet weather we have currently in Wales. Question 4u. Have you done the 16t sprocket mod on Clemantine? Reading other blogs some have reverted back to std 15t as the rear wheel is 18 inch unlike my hunter is 17 inch. Mods to my Hunter . air filter/performance exhaust and well please with the results. Still unsure with sprocket .Whats your thoughts. Bfn Mike

    • @ianhughesroyalenfield
      @ianhughesroyalenfield  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Afternoon Mike. A bit damp here too. I haven’t bothered with the sprocket change, didn’t really see the need. You might notice a bigger difference with 17” wheels. Might just give the Hunter longer legs. I am guessing the sprocket isn’t mega expensive, you could always just try it, and if it doesn’t work out, put it back to standard.
