Unfortunately Square won't do it so we need to depend on passionate fans for a fan game although with how unknown the Dissidia franchise is I doubt it will happen
Y'know the interesting part is remembering this was on the PSP. This really doesn't look that bad even to this day. They could re-release it with literally zero changes except on a main console and it'd look just fine.
Ehh, you do gotta admit that the models are a little bit low-poly, and the HUD is also LQ. But if they added minor changes to make them look different, but with the same auras about them, then slap it all into the PS4, that would be absolutely killer. But for right now, we can stick with what we got.
Like stated above, just a HD remake on ps4 would have been just fine for a lot of us instead of the shit that NT is. 012 is a masterpiece for its age, you can't complain about the gameplay, graphics, OST, and content at his time. What i would give to see it back on console nowadays.
I love how if Onion Knight uses his EX burst on Cloud of Darkness she reposition herself to look like her in game sprite in her actual game and Onion Knight moving up to signify it's his turn to act, basically referencing how the turn base combat was like back in FF3. Little details like that makes this game incredible
Some of them are to an extent, but they're just standard HP attacks, such as Vaan's Red Spiral, White Whorl, and Pyroclasm. Sadly, none of them are cinematic, and I hate it. I would've liked atleast a 1v1 mode that retains a lot of elements of Dissidia 012, but I guess that is a bit much to ask, given it is based on the arcade game.
@@imackshungames4304 if you play Senran kagura Estival or even shinovi versus on PS4, they pretty much do what you want singple player mode has cinematics style skills , (even an option to turn off cinematics) and Multiplayer or PVP has no cinematics but the skills are still beautiful to look at, its great how they created a balance of looking good and playing good PS i know the game has a lot of fanservice but as an example you have to look at the excellent mechanics it is using and think of it as why they can do it and Dissidia NT cant
In the first one, i thought Gabranth's was overkill, but Yuna's totally blew Gabranth out of the water. I mean just look at this! The opponent is getting hit by: Valefor's Energy Ray Shiva's Heaven's Wrath Ifrit's Hellfire Ixion's Thunder Spark(?) Shiva's Diamond Dust Bahamut's Megaflare Ixion's Mjollnir Valefor's Sonic Wings Bahamut's Impulse AND Ifrit's Meteor Strike IN SEQUENCE! After which he explodes into those Moonflow thingies and is sent to X's equivalent of the Afterlife. This basically seems like Yuna of all people is actively trying to MURDER somebody! I mean, YUNA!
Charr maybe because I'm a Final Fantasy 7 fanboy but I love clouds. I love how sephiroth is sending somebody into a supernova. I like Africa only because he clown looking and it's like Joker murders the DC Universe.
Charr and then cool just like a Symphony of Destruction like Deidara and will be proud. I don't like Final Fantasy 10 just because I never played it and I like my characters how I like myself brooding and depress, but I do like the finishes because I'm like everybody else they can't get a perfect they're just doing great and that great just so happens to be massive destruction so that perfect will have to be the annihilation of the universe and I recently learned that Final Fantasy 10 might have happened before Final Fantasy 7 in terms of chronological or the where they might exist in the same universe so Tidus is technically older than cloud

What hurts the most is that we're probably never gonna get another Dissidia cause Square messed up with NT and might view the series as "unsuccessful" because they made the game less fun. I hope they take a crack at it again maybe sometime after FFXVI so Clive can join in and make the gameplay more like 012 and/or the original
I liked the names of Bartz' and Exdeath's EX Bursts in the first Dissidia game which is "Spellblade Dual Wield Rapid Fire" and "The laws of the universe mean nothing" respectively.
Peh, there is other amazing options. Rapid Fire + Blood Sword already breaks 90% of the game, Spellblade Dual Wield Rapid Fire is just a well known one, FF5 loves to let you break it over your knee with nearly anything and Four Job Fiesta shows this well
I would have liked for that to be a thing as well, with PSN functionality added. The new Dissidia looks great, but I haven't seen EX Bursts yet. and I prefer the 1v1 approach. It is definitely still fast paced though.
That's because there aren't EX Burst, the EX Mode has changed into something called EX Skill, that is a move that can either unleash a powerful HP attack (but without animations) or a powerful spell that buffs the allies and/or debuffs the enemies (all depending on the character)

I agree, I feel like NT perhaps attracted new players, due to how visually amazing it is, but I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy the gameplay of Dissidia 012 a lot more. Add in PSN functionality, and I'd imagine it'd be active for quite a while. I still play 012 with a friend every not and then.
At times, I wish I had the patience to play as Exdeath, but the only counter character I like is Jecht. Exdeath is pretty broken, especially if the player is really patient.
Kefka's EX Burst is a thing of beauty. You know you're in for a world of hurt when ultima is used as the opening attack instead of the finisher. Getting virtually disintegrated by light of judgement is overkill
I really like how Cloud of Darkness actually has a personality in this game. I played FF3 DS religiously when I was younger, mostly because it was my first Final Fantasy, and I just couldn't seem to progress sometimes, especially in the days when walkthroughs were scarce. Once I got to her, I found it weird how in the overworld, she was just light, but in battles, she had the shape of a woman. And then I defeated her...and that was it. I prefer Dissidia's take on her design and personality completely. She's much more memorable this way.
I wish just like Jump Force, every other video game characters have this kind of game. Imagine Vahn from Legend of Legaia, inputting the required directional attack "arts" to perform "Vahn's Craze"
When Caos and Exdeath power off the music in the game at the end of their ex burst... Well.... This is a game that still 11 years pass , and i still remember with great love.
*NT* ain't that awful, but let's say *OG Dissidia & 012* were on another level (presentation, content and were fun games.) *Opera Omnia* it's great aswell and I consider it the true sequel.
I haven't gotten around to playing Opera Omnia yet, but I find the style really charming. Also, the addition of new characters was amazing. I'll give it a shot really soon.

i love 012 dissidia cause its so faithful to there original games even UI color and texture changes depending on which game theyre from like onion knight having a 8 bit text and Ex moves also showing there origins like how cloud of dakrness change to her original green color or the controls of lightning when shes on her odin summon
Gabranth still has the coolest looking Ex Burst. A lot of them are awesome but, his just is too good. Although out of Ex Jecht has the best combat style.
Sometimes, I have nightmares where a Jecht in EX Mode is chasing me and fully charging his attacks so that all of mine are meaningless. There is no escaping him.
Makes sense to give Gabranth the Quickening of Basch as the Ex Burst. It would have been pretty cool if you could chain it with Vaan's if you had him as an assist in Dissidia.
+Zack WhoAmI Thanks! Yeah, Dissidia 012 on PPSSPP is quite a sight to behold. It could even be rendered at higher resolutions than what I used when I recorded this video. Also, in the latest versions of PPSSPP, the developers probably fixed that ghosting issue seen in the build I was using. It isn't too noticeable, but it's there.
My favorite is Golbez. Partially biased, but it's beautifully put together despite being relatively simple... First off, the attack with the moons is badass. Then the Shadow Dragon as he casts Binding Cold, and the meteors that are already lingering in the air suddenly catch fire and go hurtling towards Cecil. Also, the pose and meteors on the Final Blow part just makes it that much better.
I would have put in regular Chaos' "utter chaos" in there too even though he's not playable. I thought that move was so badass looking for a PSP game even though its extremely easy to avoid.
I'm a fraud, I didn't know that existed until I read this. Now that I think of it, I don't think ever finished the story. After I tried to play against someone online, they advised me to download a 100% save so I can compete with their equipment, so I did and never looked back. Thanks for the heads up though, it looks pretty cool!
7:31 - It took me ten whole years to realize how cute Kefka is. This guy directly warns us (players) to be careful and watch the sequence of buttons carefully so that we do not enter them in the wrong sequence :)
This video really blew up overall, I'm glad that there are so many people that love this game just as much as I do. I'll try to upload online matches with whoever still plays this game nowadays. Feel free to challenge me. I'm not technical in this game by any means, but I know how most of the characters work in terms of what moves they have access to and how to counter them.
@@Chris-lb4wx Sorry for my late reply, but there are multiple ways. The easiest way at this point is to use an application called ZeroTier One to allow you to connect to others. Setup is pretty quick, and there are multiple guides for setting that up. If you'd like to play, I'd recommend joining the Dissidia discord.
@@dalethechipmunk3873 That's really hard for me to say. I enjoy playing a lot of characters. I really enjoy playing with Onion Knight and Zidane, but in terms of attacks, both are pretty basic. I really like Lightning, Cecil, and Vaan for their versatility, keeps your opponents on their toes. Then there's Kain and his ability to follow up with a dash, and Tifa with her feint mixups. All characters are just so unique, it's really hard for me to give a definitive answer.
I love the first Dissidia and even 012 as it introduced to me a lot of characters I never heard of! X being my favorite out of them really, i say those who haven't played it you should. The story, music and characters make it worth it!
This was suddenly shown in my recommendation. Got to say the best 10 mins, 30 secs of my day. After the flop of Dissidia NT and if they do decide to create another dissidia game, I wish it'll return to its roots with all of Opera Omnia characters.
I've been meaning to try out Opera Omnia. I really like the aesthetic. Also, additional characters are also a plus, like Sazh and Hope. Never really felt like playing it though, I feel like a lot of mobile games don't stray too much from the formula, and I don't want to be disappointed when I find that Opera Omnia isn't all that great. I definitely used more of the villains, haha! My faves are still Garland, Golbez, Gabranth, and Exdeath definitely captured me with that ending. Feral Chaos is so much fun to use too, and his moves are devastating! Hate how even the basic skills are costly, though, so you have to make a lot of sacrifices...As if obtaining him and his wicked battle theme wasn't hard enough.
@@FIREWING760 I think I looked that up a while back. There are a lot of subtle references in these EX bursts, such as how at the end of Kain's, he makes the pose that he does in FFIV's original logo.
It's nice to see how much love this older title still receives. If they wanted to they could still add ex bursts to NT. Just make them quicker. Give a special guage that has to charge then you can use it and it really could stop the screen like the summons do
Ahhh the beauty of button based reaction commands in video games back then vs now...they aren't as common or used as much in video games anymore which us a shame because HOLY shit is it fun and it makes things more dramatic and intense for the player
I have been playing this game since I was in 1st gtade, now I'm almost in college and I still couldn't defeat feral chaos. My PSP is still intact and I cannot wait for it to get fixed so I could play this masterpiece again.
Bro my PSP is intact but the battery seems to be weak as it shuts games off during play sometimes. I miss this damn game. I was thinking about it 2 days ago. Best PSP game besides KH Birth By Sleep for me
@@apocalypticfuryflame you can try to take battery out and play just with charger... Or buy a new one... I somehow lost the plastic cover for battery and when I was looking for it, I also bought new 3000 mAh battery... Boy that can last long... (About 40 hours of game time)

Its probably just becuse she is my favorite character but I really like Shantottos ex burst. The way she shatters reality is cool and how she turns here back on the enemy and laughs while they get obliterated.

I wish they would re-release *Dissidia* and *Duodecim* together on the PS4 / PS5. The PSP’s controls are based on the usual controller so porting it and then translating it to the console controls wouldn’t be that hard. I would totally buy it!
I always enjoyed playing as jecht personally, the awesome brutality of some of his attacks are really fun, even though his EX burst is one of the weakest in the game, I still really enjoyed it, but I know in the original dissidia he did have the absolute weakest EX burst in the game but it was taken by another one in 012
I like how on this one jecht can turn into the final summoning. I also like how sephoroth can summon supernova. Man, I was having fun but after seeing this, fuck NT
Opera omnia player here I wish your wish came true but the new burst weapons are good note it only has one use save it when it is the right time also the music changes as well you have free 6 turns by yourself
Coz NT is primarily a multiplayer game, and that EX Bursts are quick time event minigames that would have the screen paused. Why the hell would you have such a thing in a fast-paced MP game?
+Kahntrast Another reason why 3v3 was a mistake. They should have kept that for the Arcade version, on Console it's just messy, clumsy and just not fun to play.

And it is not just the Cloud of Darkness! All characters take their in-game-sprite pose, which makes it even sweeter of a reference!
Not to mention he can be either a Ninja or Sage, the two "ultimate" jobs in FF3.
I love how everyone else tries their best to kill the opponent, then Chaos here just pulls the plug like "You played enough today, do something else"

I haven't gotten around to playing Opera Omnia yet, but I find the style really charming. Also, the addition of new characters was amazing. I'll give it a shot really soon.

I just noticed they used the original UI and sound effects from their respective games, that is so cool.
i love 012 dissidia cause its so faithful to there original games even UI color and texture changes depending on which game theyre from like onion knight having a 8 bit text and Ex moves also showing there origins like how cloud of dakrness change to her original green color or the controls of lightning when shes on her odin summon

Gabranth still has the coolest looking Ex Burst. A lot of them are awesome but, his just is too good. Although out of Ex Jecht has the best combat style.
The Game Knights Jecht is always like “Fuchk you all! I am da mighty Jecht! Eet mah meteor sonn of a beetch!” combat style, strong as shit
Sometimes, I have nightmares where a Jecht in EX Mode is chasing me and fully charging his attacks so that all of mine are meaningless. There is no escaping him.

Makes sense to give Gabranth the Quickening of Basch as the Ex Burst. It would have been pretty cool if you could chain it with Vaan's if you had him as an assist in Dissidia.

+Zack WhoAmI Thanks! Yeah, Dissidia 012 on PPSSPP is quite a sight to behold. It could even be rendered at higher resolutions than what I used when I recorded this video. Also, in the latest versions of PPSSPP, the developers probably fixed that ghosting issue seen in the build I was using. It isn't too noticeable, but it's there.

My favorite is Golbez. Partially biased, but it's beautifully put together despite being relatively simple... First off, the attack with the moons is badass. Then the Shadow Dragon as he casts Binding Cold, and the meteors that are already lingering in the air suddenly catch fire and go hurtling towards Cecil. Also, the pose and meteors on the Final Blow part just makes it that much better.

I would have put in regular Chaos' "utter chaos" in there too even though he's not playable. I thought that move was so badass looking for a PSP game even though its extremely easy to avoid.
I'm a fraud, I didn't know that existed until I read this. Now that I think of it, I don't think ever finished the story. After I tried to play against someone online, they advised me to download a 100% save so I can compete with their equipment, so I did and never looked back. Thanks for the heads up though, it looks pretty cool!

This video really blew up overall, I'm glad that there are so many people that love this game just as much as I do. I'll try to upload online matches with whoever still plays this game nowadays. Feel free to challenge me. I'm not technical in this game by any means, but I know how most of the characters work in terms of what moves they have access to and how to counter them.

@@Chris-lb4wx Sorry for my late reply, but there are multiple ways. The easiest way at this point is to use an application called ZeroTier One to allow you to connect to others. Setup is pretty quick, and there are multiple guides for setting that up. If you'd like to play, I'd recommend joining the Dissidia discord.

@@dalethechipmunk3873 That's really hard for me to say. I enjoy playing a lot of characters. I really enjoy playing with Onion Knight and Zidane, but in terms of attacks, both are pretty basic. I really like Lightning, Cecil, and Vaan for their versatility, keeps your opponents on their toes. Then there's Kain and his ability to follow up with a dash, and Tifa with her feint mixups. All characters are just so unique, it's really hard for me to give a definitive answer.

I love the first Dissidia and even 012 as it introduced to me a lot of characters I never heard of! X being my favorite out of them really, i say those who haven't played it you should. The story, music and characters make it worth it!

This was suddenly shown in my recommendation. Got to say the best 10 mins, 30 secs of my day.
After the flop of Dissidia NT and if they do decide to create another dissidia game, I wish it'll return to its roots with all of Opera Omnia characters.
I've been meaning to try out Opera Omnia. I really like the aesthetic. Also, additional characters are also a plus, like Sazh and Hope. Never really felt like playing it though, I feel like a lot of mobile games don't stray too much from the formula, and I don't want to be disappointed when I find that Opera Omnia isn't all that great. I am glad that I was able to make your day. Thanks for watching!

My faves are still Garland, Golbez, Gabranth, and Exdeath definitely captured me with that ending.
Feral Chaos is so much fun to use too, and his moves are devastating! Hate how even the basic skills are costly, though, so you have to make a lot of sacrifices...As if obtaining him and his wicked battle theme wasn't hard enough.
Gabranth's voice sounds so chilling when he says "take your last breathe" during frost purge. very appropriate 👌

@@FIREWING760 I think I looked that up a while back. There are a lot of subtle references in these EX bursts, such as how at the end of Kain's, he makes the pose that he does in FFIV's original logo.

It's nice to see how much love this older title still receives. If they wanted to they could still add ex bursts to NT. Just make them quicker. Give a special guage that has to charge then you can use it and it really could stop the screen like the summons do

Ahhh the beauty of button based reaction commands in video games back then vs now...they aren't as common or used as much in video games anymore which us a shame because HOLY shit is it fun and it makes things more dramatic and intense for the player

@@apocalypticfuryflame you can try to take battery out and play just with charger... Or buy a new one... I somehow lost the plastic cover for battery and when I was looking for it, I also bought new 3000 mAh battery... Boy that can last long... (About 40 hours of game time)

I wish they would re-release *Dissidia* and *Duodecim* together on the PS4 / PS5. The PSP’s controls are based on the usual controller so porting it and then translating it to the console controls wouldn’t be that hard. I would totally buy it!

I always enjoyed playing as jecht personally, the awesome brutality of some of his attacks are really fun, even though his EX burst is one of the weakest in the game, I still really enjoyed it, but I know in the original dissidia he did have the absolute weakest EX burst in the game but it was taken by another one in 012

Opera omnia player here I wish your wish came true but the new burst weapons are good note it only has one use save it when it is the right time also the music changes as well you have free 6 turns by yourself

Because they're QTEs that pause the screen. Can't have that when there are 4 other people on the field battling.
i heard there are EX skills and EX bursts.
Coz NT is primarily a multiplayer game, and that EX Bursts are quick time event minigames that would have the screen paused. Why the hell would you have such a thing in a fast-paced MP game?
+Kahntrast Another reason why 3v3 was a mistake. They should have kept that for the Arcade version, on Console it's just messy, clumsy and just not fun to play.
Ilona You could have not received any Dissidia game from now on. They just made NT to gain a little more profit since Arcade is officially the Golden Goose of this game series.
