When I fought Chaos during my teen years, I had a hard time beating his 3 phases. The sense of accomplishment I felt when I finally beat him was great.
Me too! I was playing as Tidus, and all his dodges didn't really help me. That got me to maining Onion Knight for the original Dissidia, cause I first beat Chaos with OK. For 012, Yuna all the way. BURN EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!
I remember the chills I got facing off against Chaos playing as my favourite villains ; Sephiroth, Ultimecia and Kuja. It felt like such a real threat. The villains who had always been tough to beat in my childhood were now under my control as we tried to overcome this new threat. It felt so intense.
This is a bit of a late reply but I absolutely agree with you. I remember getting the chills having to listen to these songs on top of the battle. I legit couldn't beat him in the first 10 tries bcz I was getting distracted by how good the music was. Still took me about 30 tries tho 😂
In both iterations of dissidia Chaos was the one boss I struggled most with, he got way tougher in 012 but then again I was using my phone sooooo....yeah phone plus rpg mode actually made playing easier but yeah Chaos plus the music was a great challenge no less.
Chaos is such a cool boss fight from the music the difficulty for casual players and the fact you can fight him with anyone of gf characters so there was always something cool and different and learning his patterns too. I love this game
The Messenger fits PERFECTLY with the glorious battle cutscene in Dissidia NT. I did it a lot of times. Start the music right after Materia finishes speaking and it ends perfectly at the Shinryu explosion
how this is not in the Theatrhythm Final Bar Line Soundtrack, is just beyond me. It's one of my favorite final boss songs in any Final Fantasy Game. They have the full version of Advent Children One Winged Angel in the game, so length is no excuse.
I was so disappointed this wasn’t in there. I’m also betting on licensing being the issue. It’s probably why Eyes on Me had to be a DLC. I’m still hoping we’ll see it in the future, they have the possibility to just keep adding to Final Bar Line over time in an exciting way. I wanna see some of the Endwalker themes in there someday too lol
Man, even if strangers of paradise was a non canon, maybe, game, it gave light as to why chaos was remembering everything. How he ruled with the woman we know as cosmos. She is just a copy, and jack was merely being dragged into this.
Honestly the final boss SHOULD be unlike anything you've faced before. Think you're a hot shot? Think you understand the game mechanics? Ha!! Here's a literal god that is going to give you so many game overs before you finally taste that sweet feeling of triumph, because you had to learn and grow even up until the very end of the game. Love this game, this fight, and this incredible soundtrack that pushes you to fight on!

My greatest fight ever was beating Feral Chaos as WoL when FC still had over half his HP remaining and winning with 5 seconds left in a Regnum Dei that had me dead-on-board.
Just whipped out this game after years. Had to buy a new PSP battery, but I'm so looking forward to playing it all again. The first Dissidia Chaos fight is still my number 1 fight of any game. The pressure of winning 3 times in a row against a super hard boss, the music building every round, and the huge payoff when you finally beat him! Dissidia is an amazing game.
I had all three chaos tracks downloaded on my Apple Music and they were recently deleted. I am very upset about it but at least I can still hear it on TH-cam
I remember seeing Chaos for the first time in that cutscene where he kills Cosmos, I was 100% sure that I wouldn't get to fight him for some reason. And then I saw his pawn in the last floor, and saw his name pop up, witnessed his fight intro, I was in complete awe, definitely one of my most favourite boss fights
The emulation is better than the physical. It's like having an HD remaster. But still, if they put an official HD collection for the PSP games on PS4, I'd pay full price just for net play. XD
and also a Materia Boss. to really set in stone the back-and-forth nature of the Cycles. it made sense that Cosmos was a non-combatant since she existed to hold the world together. but Materia and Spiritus are mixtures of Cosmos and Chaos, so they should both be Final Bosses for their teams.

I like to think that the first part of the song is an initial feeling of despair going against an insurmountable foe. Second part is the realization that one can fight back thus rallying the inner strength to push through. Third part, the foe shows his ultimate hand showing no quarter thus the struggle for victory takes place.
