For me it is definitely the safety here, especially as a woman heading out at night. Most people are well travelled but they really do not know how good we have it here till they actually live overseas for awhile.

This is true, but don’t be complacent about this. 11 years here but I had one very serious incident with a Singaporean person. It was however dealt with in Singapore style, quickly and efficiently.

We had a Live-Tree at Seraya Road. The day it was sawn down. We were all crying. We were just a bunch of us crying. Given the me now. I would make a protest. Might even use force to oppose.

I’m Singaporean and having lived overseas for many years, I would have to say all of the points are spot on. Medical appointment is one of the many things I’ve taken for granted here.
Imagine my shock when I realised that Clinics overseas are exclusively by appointments only. If you urgently need to see a doctor, you need to head straight to the emergency… God knows how much that would cost!

I work in Singapore for 10 years and the best place to live clean , food is great, transport are easy access and cheap and on time, you can party till early in the morning which I did and safe to walk , all roads have plants/ flowers and safe , people are more respectful to one another and if you break the law you go to jail no question ask . I miss Singapore just about everything .

I definitely miss the diverse environment and entertainment I used to be a expat kid in SG and literally there was SOOOO MUCH to do from a boat right to a fun day on Sentosa and a hike in the jungle. Really miss it. Also I miss the International Environment and having so many cultures to learn from . SG is just amazing ❤️

The trees on both sides on ECP are called Rain Trees. The tree can grow up to 30m in height with an umbrella shaped crown, very spreading (20-30m across). The leaves of the Rain Tree folded up in the evenings and that was why the Malays called it Pukul Lima, which means 5 o'clock because 5pm used to be closer to the sunset.

I agree with you Georgia, Changi airport I believe is the best airport in the world, you can easily spend 24 hours exploring the airport, the thing I appreciate about Singapore is just how easily it was to get a doctor’s appointment as a visitor was, the last time I was in Singapore in 2018 I had a stomach bug & I managed to get an appointment within 2 hours & I loved how the clinic gave me the prescription medication straightly after seeing the doctor & that I didn’t have to visit the chemist to get the medicine like they do here in Australia. I think Singapore will open its International borders on July 1, 2022.

The Bum Gun is still a massive step down from a proper japanese-style washlet / built-in bidet - both in SG and back home in the UK I've got one of those installed - they can be a bit expensive but TOTALLY worth it. It was actually one of my pre-conditions on my LOI that the landlord would approve me installing one of these - haha!

I absolutely agree with how efficient Singapore systems are, how good the transport infrastructure is. We can never be able to get our ATM card in the spot in the bank. We've gotta wait for a week ( in Australia) to be sent it to us.
I cannot walk in to any day clinics if I was sick. I had to make appointment, if not I will have to queue up at the night clinics. Its a pain.
The trains in Perth made my eyes roll. Safety has always been an issue for me at night ( Australia). The Aussie laws were as good as non existence.

Food, flowers and trees, transport, safety, facilities etc,Surprise you love the Hainanese Curry Rice, its not a commonly eaten dish compared to other more popular ones. But indeed it is gooey slurry goodness, delicious, great comfort food. First video I come across which mention or dare to mention the bum gun. Was wondering what on earth you were referring to. Yes its more and more available in toilets. Its derived from the muslim practice of washing not wiping. Nice video. Btw I just cant get over those beautiful blue eyes of yours..... fascinating.

Hi @Georgia Caney One point about healthcare system here in Singapore is that we locals mostly consume public healthcare which is highly subsidised by the government.
Similar to NHS, there is considerable waiting time to be referred from polyclinic doctor or GP to a specialist appointment in hospital.
It ranges from 2 weeks to 1 month of waiting time.

same here, recently been loving the bum gun/bidet spray. strangely that lately toilet paper been giving me skin irritation which led to using a bidet spray. not only its clean, it healed my skin, as the irritation makes my skin tear. ive tried changing toilet paper brands but it doesnt work. so I started using bidet spray and cetaphil gentle wash every time I uses the toilet. abit tmi, but can't help but I really agree that bidet spray was the best invention. ps: any recommendation on toilet paper to use though? changed the current toilet paper to another brand its a lot worse

I have no idea when the pandemic will die down but I hope it does so in a year or a year and a half's time, enabling countries to ease their border restrictions and allowing us to travel again! I guess the bright side of the pandemic is that it gives us a sizeable amount of time to save up for our future overseas vacations and minimizes human activities, giving Mother Earth her much needed opportunity to heal and restore herself to her former glory.

Geez you’re so right about sexual harassment in London, and also the UK in general. I live near where Sarah Everand was murdered it was shocking but sadly not surprising. I got harassed in the street the other day and made me feel so uncomfortable. The other thing is I always have to make sure I try and run with someone else or try not to run in the dark. Travel date Dec 1st 2021 🤞

I got harassed too! Not sexual but racism when I was living in London. Even as a man, it wasn't that really safe as an Asian.

You can decrease the pressure by turning down the tap, that’s how we do it.
