In the last two weeks, I've made two of your bags--the laptop computer bag and this one. I love them both and used them immediately. I took the computer bag on a flight the same week I made it and it fit nicely under the seat in front of me. It holds a lot. This Dahlia bag is deceiving because it doesn't look like it holds as much as it does. It's roomy without being overly large. Thank you for your careful instructions and beautiful designs, plus the inspiration to make them our own. You are a great teacher!
I just finished this bag and couldn’t be more happy with it! I added an inside pocket using your same instructions as the outside zipper pocket. I also added a ribbon as a zipper pull on each zipper to make it easier to zip and unzip them. Thank you so much for your great instructions and for sharing your design!

I'd typically use jeans size needle, or microtex needle size 90/14, with 2.8mm stitch length, but this may vary depending on the machine, I suggest you make a bit of testing beforehand.Thank you, happy sewing!!
I'm working up the courage to try making this with faux leather and canvas fabric...much thicker! Any suggestions before I dive in? Thank you for your awesome videos! ♥
Great combination! Since they're much thicker fabric you can leave out the fusible woven interfacing, canvas is pretty easy to work with, while the faux leather shouldn't be much of a problem (especially if you have the same Juki as mine, which sews like butter). If your faux leather is quite thick, you may need to use heavier duty thread (and of course leather needle). I've read around that walking foot and teflon foot works great for leathery material. Of course the best way to know if by testing with a piece of scrap. Hope this helps...Good luck with your project...:)❤️, and anytime!
Hi Yoan. You show that the width of this bag at the top is 12.5". What is the width at the bottom of the bag? Also, do you have any similar totes that would be a little bigger than this one? Thanks!
hi Brenda, the width at the bottom is 5". The only bigger bag than this that i can think of is the multipurpose diaper bag project th-cam.com/video/KoORVD4tdWU/w-d-xo.html , more complex in construction, but fun to make. Thank you.
