Loved waking up at my grandmas house when i was a kid because shes the only one whod get up before me. Shed have a cup of tea made for me and warm porridge and then wed go for a long walk together and drop in and visit her other early bird friends. All before anyone else woke up.
Oh, my grandfather was the "other" early bird in our house. I was pre-school, and he'd get me outta bed, dress me, and we'd walk the neighborhood and see who else was up, etc. He was so much fun. I'm old now and still miss him.
You should NEVER FEEL SHY for yourself for your needs coming out interniscally regarding just simple human needs all humans experience simultaneously. To me the person makes you stay in that position doing nothing to change it or even worst when they might also take joy from doing so is people you go away from as FAST AS POSSIBLE... Every single second with them overall creates and results nothing. These people cannot be called friends or relatives. I was perfectly comfortable staying over for the whole weekend lmao, my parents and i traveled alot and they would bring a nanny to take me to kids things while they did adult stuff so i never built up that separation anxiety. The music was for us. The music was not playing in the quiet, theoretically empty house. As a matter of fact, you become more cognizant of not making noise than if in a library. You don't want to upset your friend's nap, nor do you want to receive the blame if the waking culprit is birds singing, a garbage truck, a train horn, or his own dog getting excited should you play with it. But yeah, good music.
My friends entire family used to sleep until 3 pm & I was an early, early bird. I used to try to cough so loud to try to wake her up 😂 I'd be SO hungry and thirsty cuz I was too embarrassed to go into their fridge.

Exactly!! I brought both and somethings to actually color with. (Because, who could remember which friend had the cool sparkly crayons or whatever else?) I’d also bring an extra outfit. So when I woke up early, I had time to figure out which outfit I wanted to wear and how to fix my hair to go with it.
I mean kids are kids, unless they set an alarm sometimes they can't help it. The parents should either wake their kid up or check on the friend to see if they are hungry. That's what i do if my son sleeps in with a friend over.

That said, hospitality is taught by the parents so it’s their job to come and check in and make that child feel at home and wake their own kid. I thought I was smart once and helped myself to the corn flakes since I was hungry. I was a chunky girl and this family were all health nuts. I poured the cereal and skim milk and saw the sugar bowl thing next to the coffee maker. I put four heaping spoonfuls in my cereal. Took my one and only bite to discover that was salt next to their coffee maker.

So they were really not ones to let their kids have table sugar. Fruits were okay but yeah so not sure why they had that in a sugar dish. My (now husband) didn't have a clock in his bedroom (WHO DOESN'T HAVE A CLOCK IN THEIR BEDROOM FFS 😂) back then and his parents would also still be asleep. So I'd be VERY awake, the shades down and having no idea if it was 8 or 2 AM. Mind you, this was waaay before the smartphone era.

I tell everyone he goes to bed with the chickens and wakes up with the rooster. Anyway he promptly found a " HOLE IN THE WALL" diner and had breakfast. On the third day I woke up when he was walking in. After he told me I said "you little rat skunk!!!" needless to say he had LOTS of company on his next visit to the "Hole in the wall diner", which by the way was nice and the food was good.!!!🤗

This was always me, I'm the early riser, can't sleep past 9a unless I'm sick or recovering from a night of debauchery. 😂😂, but I'd wake them up on "accident " only for them to tell me to get something to eat out the kitchen & close their eyes again before they finished the sentence. Good times lol.
Man does this resonate with me. For years I put them before what Im used to. I had a friend that would crave company. They lived 3 ours away, so I would drive there to visit. . I would wake at 6am and they would sleep in until noon. I couldnt work the fancy tv to watch and didnt feel right to eat anything till they woke up.. So I would take a walk outside on her property for an hour to pass the time. Breakfast was usually at 3pm. I stopped visiting. We obviously were not on the same page in our lives. I couldnt live like that

if my bestie sleeps over and wakes up before me she literally just goes out to the kitchen and makes herself breakfast while having a full on conversation with my parents😭

This was always me, I'm the early riser, can't sleep past 9a unless I'm sick or recovering from a night of debauchery. 😂😂, but I'd wake them up on "accident " only for them to tell me to get something to eat out the kitchen & close their eyes again before they finished the sentence. Good times lol.

Man does this resonate with me. For years I put them before what Im used to. I had a friend that would crave company. They lived 3 ours away, so I would drive there to visit. . I would wake at 6am and they would sleep in until noon. I couldnt work the fancy tv to watch and didnt feel right to eat anything till they woke up.. So I would take a walk outside on her property for an hour to pass the time. Breakfast was usually at 3pm. I stopped visiting. We obviously were not on the same page in our lives. I couldnt live like that
I just started reading all the books in their room 😅 luckily my friends liked to read so there was always something new!
Nah that’s where you just throw little things or make a little noise to wake them up a bit. Then they see you awake and surprisingly now they’re up 😂😂😂
