I got 25 out of 30 correct I somehow failed at Hanzo’s ability name thinking it’s Leap but as soon as the answer came I knew it. Then failed at the last question. I thought I knew all passives but the last question really meant to throw you off. I guessed Wreaking Ball’s Adaptive Shields. I thought of Zarya a lot but didn’t know it was the passive so I get 0/3 and

Makes me wonder if he also has the upcoming hero icons in his mind as well - trying to curb some of those out or possible reworks for current. His mindset isn't the present game, but the future of it.
To be fair, I was also thinking that these abilities probably go through multiple names during hero development, and they have said they usually refer to them with silly nicknames during playtesting and design, so I wasn't surprised that, counter-intuitively, it would be harder for a dev than a player to get correct.

Nah, if you play a game even for a bit getting ability names is really easy. Us as players call them different things because it’s faster and easier to make callouts with in game.

I was SO certain that the last one was bait for Zarya's bubble, that the only other thing that I could remember that looked something like that, was adaptive shields for Ball. I was so confident in that answer I didn't even consider that it could still be another ability of Zarya's. But honestly even if I did, I didn't even realize that Zarya's energy is actually a passive, the only icon for passive abilities I've seen (besides newly released heroes) is the one that's a head outline with a lightning bolt in it. This was a really fun video. Great job KarQ!

Can’t wait for the inevitable wave of comments by people who think that just because a game director can’t match a name to a picture as well as people who play the game 6 hours a day automatically means he’s out of touch. Each ability probably went through like 3 different names and icons during testing. Hell, I know for fact that even if I was working on Sigma every day before release, I’d still just call his E “the big rock.”
Aaron is too busy putting out fires and writing apologies. Is understandable. But as a former game dev I know how sad is that devs in charge of things don't play the game u_u. Jeff did play though.

28, only missed Zarya's passive, but I KNEW it didn't look quite like projected barrier, like, it just felt off. But I completely forgot about her passive. Still, pretty good. Guess I'm too familiar with these icons lol
When I saw the last one, I guessed it would be a passive, but went with Mauga passive since it looked like it was damage providing shield health, which only applies to Doom and Mauga, but Doom can't trigger passive with bullets like the icon shows. Fun quiz, wish you gave the viewer more time to see the icon before immediately showing how the guests guessed tho Edit: I didn't even realize this video is 6 months old, Mauga wasn't even in the game yet lmao

I find it funny that some of these people have 10x more hours on the game than me and I still got just about all of them (except the last one I didn’t even know energy counted as a passive).
