Mbale city revenue - Collection of street parking, advertising, loading, and offloading suspended

Mbale City Council authorities have taken immediate action to suspend the collection of street parking, promotion and advertising, and loading and offloading fees in the central business district of the Industrial City Division. This decision comes as a response to the failure of contracted companies to remit the collected revenue, causing a significant loss of close to UG SHs 200 million and adversely affecting service delivery in the city.
The Public Relations Officer of Mbale City, James Kutosi, emphasized that the directors of the contracted companies are responsible for the financial setback, as they have not remitted revenue fees for the past four months.
