Have you considered carrying a sling? For sure, you’ll need to cut down on what you carry. The code of bell x-pod & aer city sling v2 in x-pac are the 2 slings I own. These help in carrying cameras & other edc stuff.
I have carried slings/messenger bags in the past. You can check out the video I made about the NutSac MagSatch a while ago if you are interested. I run a similar setup nowadays with the Billingham Small Hadley Pro when I don't feel like carrying a backpack. The setup shown in this video is however not all that heavy or massive. Its only a 16L backpack after all. :)
Great video and nice backpack. By the way, do you live in Baden-Baden? I think I recognized the theatre, no? Love that town and go there often, it's wonderful!
Good to see more content from you! I like that you've been including more scenery footage because I haven't been able to get out and explore since 2020. I really like your new leather backpack and I hope to see more from you.
Great video really enjoyed it. An Able Carry follow up would be amazing. I know what you mean with the one bag for all situations thing. I tried for a long time too find it. I've settled on the Fjallraven Bergtagen 30. It's definitely towards the hiking/outdoor end but it's retro styling for me makes it work in most scenarios. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, I appreciate it! I honestly never heard of the Bergtagen 30 before I read your comment but I just took a quick look at it and I can see what you mean. I could surely make that work as a One-Bag-for-all solution, though it would be a tad to big for my EDC needs. Looks great though, I am already debating getting it for longer dayhikes when the 20L Rucker is to small but I don't want to break out the Fjällräven Friluft 35. Also, I just like the look of it. Fjällräven really know what they are doing in the design department. I hope they don't drop it like so many other great bags they made over the years.
The backpack calims to fit a 14'' laptop in the bag, although I've heard from some reviews that it can actually just barely fully fit in a 13'' MacBook. So, to answer your question, probably not.
Thanks! I sure do. Wouldn't be a great look if I was suffering out and about because I didn't bring some basic meds but 3 flashlights and a multitool :D
Great video! Gave me some ideas for my EDC. I have also tried to use one bag (Goruck 21L Slick) for everything but it has not worked out. For bags, have you done a follow up to your Goruck Rucker? Have you considered Cravar FC as a work bag? It doesn't meet my bag selection criteria but it looks unique. In your personal EDC, have you thought of other small pocket knives? I am currently trying out the ZT 0022. It is legal to carry it here in Switzerland so it may also be legal in Germany.
Hi Jonathan, first of all: Thanks! Glad to year the video gave you some inspiration for your setup. As for bags: I haven't done a follow-up on the Rucker yet, but might make one if people are interested. Its a great backpack for everything but at the same time somewhat limited by its design. It is however by far the most comfortable backpack I have ever owned. The Cravar FC looks nice, I use something similar for work when I meet clients or go to court (without the shoulder strap though, full briefcase). The ZT0022 looks nice, but sadly we are very restricted in germany when it comes to one hand opening knives with a locking mechanism. That's why I stick to slipjoint knives most of the time. I have a collection of over 20 knives however of all different pricepoints. Most of them legal to carry in germany. Maybe I should just make a collection video!? Anyway, thanks for watching! Take care
@@TobisTings I totally missed the ban one hand opening knives in Germany. We were visiting the Black Forest and I had my ZT 0900 with me. I thought it was more on blade length only. Knife collection video looks interesting. I am curious if you are still using your Robert J Lessard custom knife and if you had ordered a smaller like like the Cadet. I am in the process of choosing what to include without the blade.
I really want a good backpack that doesn't look so "tech bro"-y but still has decent ergonomics. The ones aimed at women seem to all have terribly thin shoulder straps and/or they're made of very cheap looking nylon or "vegan leather" which won't last. The Chesterfield backpacks aren't as feminine as I'd ideally like, but they seem like a good compromise between material quality, capacity, ergonomics, and design/style.
Thanks for yet another interesting and well produced video. I don’t know if you agree but I’m kind of noticing a trend in edc videos towards more scaled down, less tactical/prepping “expecting the worse” kind of gear, and more personal curated and well though out carry and I like it! Keep up the great work on this channel!
Thanks! I agree with you observation and its certainly true for my own setup. Maybe its just that more people outside of the outdoor/survival community also start sharing their EDC videos, or people just got more ideas for stuff they could carry and actually use more often. Personally, while I like a good "go bag" style setup and video, I nowadays get more value out of the more down to earth setups with items that might come in handy more often and not just in an emergency situation.
I love the aesthetics and editing of this video so much. Also obsessed with watching what’s in my bag videos 👜
Me too. Tickled me to open and then subscribed because I want to get his video’s looks.

Yes. Agree.
Wie sieht es mit der qualität von dem Chesterfield bag aus ? Nachwievor zufrieden ? wollte mir eventuell auch einen holen.
Nice! Would be nice to know your point of view in replacing a laptop with an ipad.

Can your 16 inch MacBook Pro fit into this backpack?
Always enjoy your EDC bag videos
Thanks, I appreciate that! These are still my favorite videos to make :)
What stand do you attach your sm7 to?
GREAT vid, nice to see and what nifty little devices you have my friend, Thanks and see you in the next one 😉

Excellent video again, you actually carry your meds👍. Stay safe.

Great edc, I'm gonna work hard enough to complete mine!😄
Great video! For me the perfect Backpack is a "Deuter giga"
Thanks! Never tried the Giga, but Deuter makes great gear. That is just a fact.
Great video! Congratulations on your move. I would like to see a follow up video to the Able Carry bag!

As always , a very enjoyable video and some great content 👌, stay safe my friend
Thanks Darren, much appreciated!
Love your videos, Tobis!!! :)
How many kilos do you carry in your EDC?
Hard to say (never weighed my packs). They get fairly heavy though. I would guess somewhere in the neighbourhood of 8-10kg.
