@@PetiteDivaReacts there's another song that the Righteous Brothers sing that I know you would like it's called You've Lost That Love and Feeling look at that video
This song is a very close, and emotional song for me. I am a man's man, but...I cry every time I hear it. My mom passed away 3 years ago. She had me record this song (her all time favorite) over and over again on a cassette so she could hear it over and over again. Everytime I hear it, I think of her. I miss, and love you so very much mom. Live to Survive!
This song sung by Bobby Hatfield is simply the greatest performance by any Artist ever! ANYWHERE! He hits 22 dif notes with his fabulous vocals and if u ain't moved by this u just don't know good music! I'm a Rock n Roll fan but this leaves anything in the pantheon of Rock early Rn B Soul in its wake! Melbourne Australia,
The late great Bobby Hatfield! No one sang this song like he did. No auto tune just pure raw talent! I was 15 years old when I watched him sing this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. No auto tune just pure raw talent.....love you Bobby. RIP We miss you!!!❤❤❤
Brilliant man, brilliant voice. This and Youve Lost that Loving Feeling are two of the greatest vocal performances on film in the 20th century!! Hell, 21st century too! RIP dear Bobby, thank you for your life!
Hey! I was 11 yrs old in 65, and in the middle of "Beatle-mania" at the time; however, I also loved this more ballad-style pop music too... My much older sis hung at a bar off the Sunset Strip, and "the Brothers" (along with Little Richard!) frequently visited after performances nearby. Needless to say, she was all aflutter after every exposure to these stars! And she was partial to Bobby Hatfield, the Bros that sang THIS song solo. Thanx for the great reaction!
The Righteous Brothers did rhythm 'n' blues and rock 'n' roll before the ballad hits, with many videos available on TH-cam of their exciting performances on the great Shindig.
Sweet handsome talented Bobby Hatfield. Thank you Bobby for this timeless performance of your talent we boomers grew up with. You are an icon. May you RIP.
I'm glad I waited to hear your evaluation. From the title I mistakenly thought you were saying Bobby Hatfield was a terrible singer. In fact, he was very gifted. He did not have to rely on ploys such as fireworks, facial grimaces or running all over the stage, and twisting his body. He used his incredible voice and he delivered. Another thing, his dress was very neat...no torn jeans, no face paint, no rhinestones but a neat suit because his mama was in the audience and he had respect for what she taught him and respect for his audience to look his best.
60 years have passed since this event and after all this time TH-cam has loads of videos of this performance. That is testament to one of the greatest performances by a top class singer. I enjoyed his music when I was a teenager and still enjoying it as a 76 year old. Great songs deserve to be remembered .

That was righteous! The most excellent version of, "Unchained Melody," I have ever heard. Bill Medly (the other Righteous Brother) said he will always regret not working with Bobby Hatfield on this song.
Bill said so in the introduction for this video. You have to look, but it’s out there. He said while Bobby sings, he stands in c corner and kicks himself. Then Andy Williams (it was on his show) offers to show him the corner he uses when Tony Bennett sing ‘I left my heart in San Francisco ‘.
That was scripted comedy on The Andy Williams Show (Bobby Hatfield silently mouthed the words while Bill Medley talked). Bobby Hatfield did this song with his original group The Variations and said "I had that one in my pocket".

I was 12 in 65, in late sixties now. Tough times gave me a heart of stone. But when I hear Bobby Hatfield sing this. That rock inside me melts like ice. Thank God no one can see me. Tough decision here to hit the send button? But I'm thinking if one person sees this it will feel like an arm around my shoulder. Dam!
The song was written in 1955, but the Bobby Hatfield version is the best known and best performed version. I was a teenager when he recorded this. It was played at a lot of proms and other dances. It's a great way to charm a girl and became a romantic standard for people of my generation.
So nice that some of these young people like our "old" music. I grew up in the 1950s -1960s and there was SO MUCH great music from that time on radio and TV. All around the world people are reacting to this song. literally all around the world. When you add up all of the views. Literally millions of people have listened to this performance of this song? And I don't think I have seen one dislike. Very impressive.
This is probably my favorite performance of all time. It is perfect. Bobby was what is called a countertenor. He had an unbelievable range spanning several octaves. Those high notes at the end were not falsetto. That was just the top of his range. Could you please react to " Pretty Woman"? I think it's by Roy Orbison. It always makes me feel happy and pretty. Hard to do since I'm 72.
Hey, I love how you had the extreme closeup of Bobby juxtaposed with your close up. Very original. Most reaction videos stick with the original of Bobby in half portrait. Kudos to you for mixing it up. Also, even "Ghosts" was before your time, but you nailed that. Cool. Lastly, I will be the rare male, probably only the ten million-five hundred thousandths and sixty first in the last year to say you are heart-stoppingly beautiful.

The group is the Righteous Brothers. If you want to know why the other brother isn't there you need to watch the whole video clip, 'Righteous Brothers Unchained Melody Andy Williams'. This performance is done on the Andy Williams Show, the explanation is before the song. I'm 68 years old so I was 13 when this performance was done and I watched it on TV. I've been blown away by it every time I heard it (hits were played 10 to 15 times a day, and this was a hit). There's about ten tons on just hit music from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Some of it is just fun (like, 'Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini'), but much of it is love songs and blues and so much more. Enjoy the adventure!
His duet partner was there for the introduction on this variety show. But this song was written for a single vocalist. So Bobby Hatfield and his singing partner Bill Medley I guess had previously flipped a coin to see who would get to record and perform this song. Then I presume God stepped in and said Bill you are a great singer but I need this song done perfectly. Its my gift to the world. Now watch how many millions of women's hearts melt and men's eyes get misty hearing one of my Angels sing of such a beautiful and pure love! (Add thunder claps here) Now play that song again and again! ;)
This GREAT rendition by Bobby Hadield is a cover of the original version in 1955. Three artists sang it, but Roy Hamilton's was big on the Black music charts. As a member of a band called Michael and the Jesters from Dinuba, CA, we had the privilege of being an opening for the Righteous Brothers.....Bill Medley and Bobby Hadfield.
We watched this live broadcast on TV, Bobby was 25 years old at the time of this broadcast. He was nervous preforming it because his parents were in the audience. Hjs Mom's first time hearing him performing
The version used in Ghost was the studio version. This is Bobby singing it live so beautifully and perfectly! The Righteous Brothers is a duo but they did solo's and this is Bobby doing one.
1965 is not old. When my mother was in her 90s and having memory problems, I asked her "Do you know how old you are?" She said "No." I said "You're 93." She responded "Oh, I'm beginning to get old." She was born in 1920
My wife and I got married in 1965 , we bought that record to play at our reception ! We danced to be music ! We are still married and we still have that record ! Last month news our 55 th anniversary , we danced to be music again !!!
A truely amazing voice. Fun fact, they tossed a coin to see who was going to sing it, he won, later on his mate admits he was glad he lost cause he didn't think he could've topped that performance
This was recorded on the Andy Williams show in 1965 I watch that show it was great now I m 71 years old This is the most cover song and played the most in the 20th century
So I later checked and it seems I was right. This music was used as a soundtrack for Ghost movie. My late mother loved that movie and I am somewhat glad that this was the first righteous brothers song that I reacted to. I hope you enjoy my reaction.
This song was originally written for the 1955 film “Unchained” - hence the name. There has been a lot of covers done throughout the years, but Bobby Hatfield owned it with his rendition.
all the reactions I have seen from the Younger Generation were amazing, and shocked at his voice without help from electronics, or auto tune, This song was number 1 twice, once in 1965 and also in 1990, you just heard greatness and don't realize it !
This was before Electronics could adjust your voice to sound how they need you to. This was REAL RAW Talent, I remember when this version came out my sisters would just keep repeat playing it for hours. Back when men would sing with emotion to women not speak a phrase at them. But it never gets old, Thanks for the memory's.
A beautiful song by B.J. Thomas called "I'm So Lonesome I could cry." A song was written by Hank Wiliams. This song hit the top of the charts and stayed there for a long time. Another very popular song was "Pretty Woman" sung by the great Roy Orbison.
yes ,it was Ghost.....now , to hear him and the other righteous bro, listen to "you've lost that lovin feeling".i was 15 when i first heard this and now, 55 yrs later its still the best...
They are a group, but they flipped a coin to see which one would sing this song. The other "Brother" played piano. Usually they both sing on their songs. It was in Ghost (pottery spinning scene mainly), but they rerecorded it for the movie.
That was a joke which has become a rumor (and even an error in Wikipedia). There are interviews which clarify that it was Bobby Hatfield's choice without a flip. He sang it with his original group The Variations and said "I had that one in my pocket".
There were 2 of them. This is Bobby Hatfield and his singing partner was Bill Medley (who is still singing). They flipped a coin to see who got to do this song because they both loved it. Bobby won! It was in Ghost. Another of their songs (You've lost that Loving feeling) was the song Tom Cruise sang to the girl in the movie Top Gun. Interestingly these guys got their name from a young black marine who was in the audience at a show in California. After they finished a song the guy yelled out :that was righteous brothers". They kept it. Good luck with your channel.
My understanding was that they were singing at a black night club and when they took the stage they were immediately booed. They pushed on and by the time they were finished the crowd wouldn't let them leave. Then some one yelled " that was really righteous, brother". That is how the duo got the name to their group , The Rightist Brothers. They were a They were a duet with their own band. The song, unchained melody was song as a solo.
Yes there are two Righteous Brothers they are not brother brothers but they sometimes sing Duets together and sometimes sing solo parts because both their voices are very strong and can do both and when they're together they are singing blend so well
Ever since film, tape, video and what ever come's next. Future Generation's will continue to rediscover, what was their before them. And I can imagine the surprise and smile on their face's.
The Righteous Bros were comprised of 2 singers: Bill Medley (Baritone), and Bobby Hatfield (Soprano). This song was used in the movie Ghost, with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. Without the electronics available today, both these singers are extremely talented, because they had to rely on their voices. Bobby Hatfield's version is unmatched: his range, control, and ease of delivery-without gyrating all over the stage, allowing you to concentrate on the song.
The song was written between 1954 and 1955. In 1955 there were 4 versions by 4 separate artist. When the Righteous Brothers got this it's been theirs, well more Bobby Hatfield's; his version is the standard that many are compared to. Both Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley had songs in US Films, Bobby's unchained Medley appeared in Ghost with Demi Moore Whoopi Goldberg, and Patrick Swayze and Bill Medley's sang Time of my life with Jennifer Warnes, Starring Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey and Cynthia Rhodes ( hell of a soundtrack ) On this live performance his Mother ( possibly dad ) is in the audience. At the end he bites his lip as he knows he nailed this song. There are thousands of covers of this song, sung by Elvis, Robson and Jerome many, many others many come close, but none beat Bobby's rendition. Basic history: from Wikipedia: They began performing together in 1962 in the Los Angeles area as part of a five-member group called the Paramours . In 1964 music producer Phil Spector came across the Righteous Brothers when they performed in a show at the Cow Palace in Daly City, CA. where one of Spector's acts, The Ronettes, was also appearing. The rest is history. "Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. North wrote the music as a theme for the little-known prison film Unchained (January 1955), hence the song title. Todd Duncan sang the vocals for the film soundtrack. It has since become a standard and one of the most recorded songs of the 20th century, most notably by the Righteous Brothers. According to the song's publishing administrator, over 1,500 recordings of "Unchained Melody" have been made by more than 670 artists, in multiple languages. Of the hundreds of recordings made, the Righteous Brothers'( Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley ) version in July 1965, with a solo by Bobby Hatfield, became the jukebox standard after its release. Hatfield changed the melody in the final verse and many subsequent covers of the song are based on his version. The Righteous Brothers recording achieved a second round of great popularity when it was featured in the film Ghost in 1990. In 2004, it was Number 27 on AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs survey of top tunes in American cinema.
Yes, you are correct it was the Soundtrack for the movie Ghost with Patrick Swassey and Demi Moore, nice movie but sad. You are right when you say that older music is better then what they produce nowadays.
Arguably the greatest male vocalist of all time... Also probably the greatest ever live solo performance... Bobby Hatfield looked great, sang like an angel, and was so cool it was ridiculous... The only other naturally gifted vocalist as good as this was Karen Carpenter. She was the female version of Bobby... Perfection 👌
The Righteous Brothers were actually 2 guys. But only The late great Bobby Hatfield sang this song. RIP Bobby. And yes, this song was used in the movie Ghost.
I sang this to my wife at our wedding in 1983. She, however she said I murdered it. I'm guessing it's not a song for a baritone, she told me I was of better sticking to my drumming. I thought it was an appropriate song as I was in the Royal Marine Commandos, I had returned from the war for the Falkland Islands when I proposed, and now was shipping out to Sierra Leone two days later, so much for my attempt at being romantic. On the upside she liked me in my Dress Uniform, and having my comrades forming the sword tunnel helped. I must have done something write because we're still together. With 4 children and 7 grandchildren, we got busy on baby's when I was home. I served my Queen and Country for 34 years as a Royal Marine Commandos and Specialist Forces, and then 2 years in hospital, and she stuck by me even though I'm wheelchair bound now. We do actually have a song by Queen called "Your Me Best Friend", a very apt song as she has been my best friend since we were 16.
You have to check out the best vocalist from down under John Farnham singing the Beatles song "Help" live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. His vocals are crazy and he's an entertainer, the way he interacts with the crowd is awesome. John Farnham is an Aussie icon.
Two people in the Righteous Brothers. Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. Some of the songs they did were solos. In this case, Unchained Melody was done by Bobby Hatfield. They did one solo each per album. In the case of Unchained Melody, both singers wanted to do the song and it was settled by a coin toss which Bobby Hatfield won. Although Phil Spector is listed as the producer, Unchained Melody was the "B" side of the original record and Bill Medley always maintained that he produced the song as Spector only wanted to produce the "A" side as that was the one designated at the "hit" song for the record. Medley had produced the Righteous Brothers prior to Spector being involved, so it is not out of the question that Bill Medley produced Unchained Melody.
Bill Medley produced the song and played the piano on the recording. He said if he knew it was going to be a hit he would have hired a piano player. They did it in one take..
The Righteous Brothers were a duo - Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. For this particular number, Phil Spector talked Bill to sit out and have Bobby do a solo.
THE RIGHTEOUS BROS WERE BOBBY HATFIELD (DECEASED) AND BILL MEDLY (UNRELATED) BILL HAD THE DEEP VOICE WHILE BOBBY HAD A GREATER VOCAL RANGE THE DECISION FOR BOBBY HATFIELD TO SING THIS SONG SOLO WAS THE BEST DECISION I HAVE HEARD MANY VERSIUONS OF THIS SONG BUT BOBBY DID IT BEST - HE OWNS THIS SONG - NO QUESTION HIS VOICE HERE WAS SOFT, SWEET, SENSUAL, PASSIONATE AND HEART GRABBING. AND HE HAD MOVIE STAR LOOKS - NO WONDER SO MANY GIRLS WENT 'GAGA' OVER HIM. THIS SONG APPEARED IN THE FAMOUS FILM "GHOST" STARRING PATRICK SWAZYE AND DEMI MOORE - IT WAS THE PERFECT SONG CHOICE FOR THAT FILM. TAKE CARE > EMILIO > ADELAIDE CITY > AUSTRALIA (COVID FREE)
The Righteous Brothers are a duo consisting of Bobby Hatfield (featured here) and Bill Medley. They typically did one solo each per album and this one became a huge hit peaking at #4 in the US in 1965. I honestly don't know why people doing their first reactions to the Righteous Brothers choose the solo rather than their bigger hits together. To hear their beautiful harmonies together (Medley has a deep baritone voice to contrast with Hatfield's high tenor voice), try You've Lost That Loving Feeling. It was not only peaked at #1 in many countries, including the US, but it became THE most played song on American radio and television in the 20th century. It was also featured in the movie Top Gun and the TV show Cheers. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/uOnYY9Mw2Fg/w-d-xo.html
For a deeper perspective of the lyrics, the song was originally written for a movie called "the prisoner". The husband is serving a long sentence and wrote this in a letter to his young wife who was having an affair with one of the prison guards and looking to leave the country with him. Makes the song so much more emotional in its meaning. With that context in mind listen to the song again, while he may be chains his love for her is not, hence unchained melody.

It would be nice if he knew that his music still moves people and enjoy it over 50 years later.
Love your makeup. Very beautiful and sophisticated.
Incredible song and reaction! Your skin is like a porcelain doll. Just beautiful!
Thank you so much
1965 is not old. When my mother was in her 90s and having memory problems, I asked her "Do you know how old you are?" She said "No." I said "You're 93." She responded "Oh, I'm beginning to get old." She was born in 1920
Thanks for making me feel so old . I'm 72 yrs. Young now.I was 16 then.
I was 2 years old in 1965, so yes, it was the Dark Ages 😉🤣. Great video! 👍
This was recorded on the Andy Williams show in 1965 I watch that show it was great now I m 71 years old This is the most cover song and played the most in the 20th century
Yes it was featured in the movie Ghost in the 90's Great song sung by the late Mr. Bobby Hatfield. Beautiful ❤️💙 song.
So I later checked and it seems I was right. This music was used as a soundtrack for Ghost movie. My late mother loved that movie and I am somewhat glad that this was the first righteous brothers song that I reacted to. I hope you enjoy my reaction.
No you actually said there was only one person so you were wrong about that!
This song was originally written for the 1955 film “Unchained” - hence the name. There has been a lot of covers done throughout the years, but Bobby Hatfield owned it with his rendition.
@@muhest Yes I knew about that, your absolutely correct, ty.
I Simply just Love that Song it just makes me Cry!!!!
aww thats sweet 😇😇😇
Thanks for making me feel old.
all the reactions I have seen from the Younger Generation were amazing, and shocked at his voice without help from electronics, or auto tune, This song was number 1 twice, once in 1965 and also in 1990, you just heard greatness and don't realize it !
Live !No auto tune or voice over .60s and 70s simple the best .
Best version so far
This was before Electronics could adjust your voice to sound how they need you to. This was REAL RAW Talent, I remember when this version came out my sisters would just
keep repeat playing it for hours. Back when men would sing with emotion to women not speak a phrase at them. But it never gets old, Thanks for the memory's.
They were actually called, "The Righteous Brothers," in our day. I never heard the "the" left off. They were a duet, but this was done solo.
Bobby Hatfield, the man with a killer voice.
The songs of the past are so beautiful
I feel God's love in those songs.
Beautiful reaction
Thank you
I love the way you have screen larger for the Artists! I Just subscribed
A beautiful song by B.J. Thomas called "I'm So Lonesome I could cry." A song was written by Hank Wiliams. This song hit the top of the charts and stayed there for a long time. Another very popular song was "Pretty Woman" sung by the great Roy Orbison.
Righteous brothers are 2 people but they sung separately in some songs. They had so much talent back then,no auto tune.
I was young and handsome in 1965. Now 2020 in just handsome.
yes ,it was Ghost.....now , to hear him and the other righteous bro, listen to "you've lost that lovin feeling".i was 15 when i first heard this and now, 55 yrs later its still the best...
Shows were still segregated then and it was at a Black night club when someone shouted, "That was righteous brother".
Blue Eyed Soul at it's finest!!!
This was a solo song and the brothers actually flipped a coin to see which one would actually sing it. I do believe the right brother did perform it.
Yes there are two Righteous Brothers they are not brother brothers but they sometimes sing Duets together and sometimes sing solo parts because both their voices are very strong and can do both and when they're together they are singing blend so well
There were two members: Bill Medley and the one who sang it Bobby Hatfield. They flipped a coin to see who would sing it and Bobby won.
you are so beautiful thank you for helping to keep bobbies spirits alive
Brilliant video! Have you heard that Chadwick boseman pass away. He was the best superhero in the avengers endgame marvel movie! Rip Chadwick boseman.
i can remember my older sisters playing this record i was 6 years old when this was released. where did all those years go!!! Great record though.
It really is a nice song.
There are two in the group. They do solos as well. This was a solo. The other guy was playing the piano.
Ever since film, tape, video and what ever come's next. Future Generation's will continue to rediscover, what was their before them. And I can imagine the surprise and smile on their face's.
R.I.P. BOBBY HATFIELD YOU ARE MISSED AND LOVED...
Bobby was a counter tenor. Sopranos are women.
The song was written between 1954 and 1955. In 1955 there were 4 versions by 4 separate artist.
When the Righteous Brothers got this it's been theirs, well more Bobby Hatfield's; his version is the standard that many are compared to.
Both Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley had songs in US Films, Bobby's unchained Medley appeared in Ghost with Demi Moore Whoopi Goldberg, and Patrick Swayze and Bill Medley's sang Time of my life with Jennifer Warnes, Starring Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey and Cynthia Rhodes ( hell of a soundtrack )
On this live performance his Mother ( possibly dad ) is in the audience.
At the end he bites his lip as he knows he nailed this song.
There are thousands of covers of this song, sung by Elvis, Robson and Jerome many, many others many come close, but none beat Bobby's rendition.
Basic history: from Wikipedia:
They began performing together in 1962 in the Los Angeles area as part of a five-member group called the Paramours .
Thanks for the summary.from germany
There are 2 but for this song they decided it should be a solo. This version of the song was used in the movie Ghost.
Yes, you are correct it was the Soundtrack for the movie Ghost with Patrick Swassey and Demi Moore, nice movie but sad. You are right when you say that older music is better then what they produce nowadays.
After this was released there were over 500 artists recorded this song
She looks flawless like made in a factory so beautiful
Arguably the greatest male vocalist of all time... Also probably the greatest ever live solo performance... Bobby Hatfield looked great, sang like an angel, and was so cool it was ridiculous... The only other naturally gifted vocalist as good as this was Karen Carpenter. She was the female version of Bobby... Perfection 👌
The Righteous Brothers were actually 2 guys. But only The late great Bobby Hatfield sang this song. RIP Bobby. And yes, this song was used in the movie Ghost.
The movie this was in was "Ghost" With Demi Moore and Patrick Swayzee during the pottery scene.
Performed by Todd Duncan not Bobby.
LOL @ "way way back in time" I was 7 but good reaction darlin
Beautiful
Amazing 😍👋
The Righteous Brothers were a duo - Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. For this particular number, Phil Spector talked Bill to sit out and have Bobby do a solo.
THE RIGHTEOUS BROS WERE BOBBY HATFIELD (DECEASED) AND BILL MEDLY (UNRELATED)
BILL HAD THE DEEP VOICE WHILE BOBBY HAD A GREATER VOCAL RANGE
THE DECISION FOR BOBBY HATFIELD TO SING THIS SONG SOLO WAS THE BEST DECISION
I HAVE HEARD MANY VERSIUONS OF THIS SONG BUT BOBBY DID IT BEST - HE OWNS THIS SONG - NO QUESTION
HIS VOICE HERE WAS SOFT, SWEET, SENSUAL, PASSIONATE AND HEART GRABBING.

'"A Blue-eyed soul brother"
One of the best artists from the golden 60s!
Thank you so much for letting me know. I will check out that video.
I like this better. The duo is great but THIS. This is a piece of heaven
I believe if you check further, the old movie from 1955 was called Unchained not The Prisoner.
All of them are better than songs produced now.
I agree.
