Thanks!!
Phandelver and Below is my second campaign that I've DM'd and I had to adjust most of this hideout on the fly to prevent my players from getting absolutely destroyed. I think the amount of enemies in the cave is ludicrous unless you have experienced players or maybe a full party of 6. I have 4 PCs and oh man did they almost wipe so many times.
My players agreed to kill Klarg on Yeemik's orders but they double crossed him and then agreed to kill Yeemik for Klarg. Once they completed that task, I had Klarg meet them on the rope bridge where they had to fight him for their final showdown. (you can't trust the word of a bugbear after all)
The fight wasn't going particularly well for my players so as they were trying to finish off Klarg, our Warlock knocked him into the bridge, collapsing it and the goblins standing atop it and caused fall damage to several of them. It was a fun and epic moment for the group that added a bit of unexpected damage to their enemies and helped them overcome Klarg and his crew.
You’re right it can be overwhelming for such early levels. I know I TpK’d a party once right here.
Sometimes the dice just won’t help.
I’m glad you got a good ‘bridge’ memory out of it. That’s what dnd gives us- these Do You Remember When things.
awasome video really clear and helpfull!
The first comment on the series. Thanks so much
Look forward to working through this series. I have ran Lost Mines, but not the new book as of yet
It’s a great little adventure
Where did you get those maps for terrain areas?
It’s this box. The Long Road Review #dnd

What an awesomesauce video
Thank you
My PCs already went through the original LMoP. I plan to run this as a sequel but for new PCs who are 5th level and are from or somehow personally connected to Phandalin. The leaders of Phandalin request the PCs return to assist with Goblin problems plaguing the town again.
Yeah that can work and they can continue
I’m a new to d&d and planning on being a dm for my group (also all new). do the maps that you are using on the table come with set? or did you get them somewhere else. if you got them somewhere else, how do you print them on such larger sheets?
The modules don’t come with battle maps. D&D’s Tactical Maps are paper and come in one set with various scenes. But most maps are dry erase marker safe. I favour a company called Loke BattleMats. Search their stuff.
Your first purchase could well be through Amazon, where there’s a three map set which are blank of scenery but are themed in a sort of Grass/Tundra/ dungeon shade.
Of course you don’t need maps at all but come on, buy buy buy, is the usual hobbyists mindset.
How did you get those maps I want some so bad
