What do you use such light line for trout. If you hook a fish of a life time (10 pound+) you are basically stuffed. Isn’t it wiser to use heavier line say 8-10 pound, then you have confidence that you will land it.
I have to say, I have knocked up catching fish that have had their mouths torn and otherwise damaged. The only thing I can put it down to is lures with barbed treble hooks. Geez, they make a mess of the poor fish's mouths. Can't we become a little better with this?
