Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?
10/10 Reason is because this is top notch movie effects before computer graphics.
for me, this is the best part of the jason movie.
RIP Ray Harryhausen
Back when there was no CGI, they had to put the work into making creatures come to life, especially when they didn't have the budget to make them look this good. Sure they had costumes and the creature from the black lagoon was definitely the most advanced looking creature they had ever created, that wasn't claymation. Because of this, it gave us king Kong, and eventually in time, Godzilla, and so much more
this blew peoples minds back in the 60s lol.
I'm giving you 10 🔟 ❤
No CGI! Lol. I don’t think there was CGI in the 50s. This is called time lapse photography. Kind of neat. Very time-consuming to produce.
How can you tell
@@tellitlikeitis8691 The first use of CGI in a live action film (rather than in the opening credits) was 1973 in Westworld. This film, Jason and the Argonauts, was made in 1963. The stop motion sequence in this film is done well. (Time lapse is when the frame rate is very slow, like in nature documentaries when they show a whole day or week or even season of vegetation growth in a few seconds on screen. Stop motion is when a large number of still shots with very slight differences are sequenced together to give the appearance of movement.)
@@mikefule330 So this is stop motion and not time lapse, got it thanks! So cool
Ray harryhausen.... Stop motion photography
Bernard Herrmann did the score? Roy Harryhausen the clay action?
