Same thing with Jack's. I don't know if they just got a messed up one or if Jack's has changed their methods, but my GF used to manage a Jack's, and it's all cooked fresh. Biscuits are made fresh every morning. Gravy is made, and then they fry sausage on the flat top and chop it up to put in the gravy. The eggs are cracked, whipped, and then cooked in a ring mold. Everything gets salt and pepper, which is, unfortunately, all they're allowed to use.
Former McDonald's employee here, you got an eggshell because the egg 'patty' on mcmuffins is actually two freshly cracked eggs put into a mold with a specialized tray on top that trickles water down onto the griddle and allows the eggs to steam giving them the signature rubbery texture by essentially steaming the whole eggs. The worst part of fast food breakfast is when you work nights and just want a burger on your way home but they won’t serve you one until three hours later.
i used to work at cfa for a little bit. the sausage is jimmy dean, biscuits are made fresh every morning, yellow and white eggs come from cartons. the reason the chicken is probably not crispy is because they douse tf out of the biscuits with butter, inside both sides and the tops. also the breakfast filets are marinated with a different marinade than the lunch/dinner filets so they are in fact different.
The BK near me has sort of a train station theme or something along the lines of that, haven’t went in a while but I don’t think they’ve changed it. The other fast food restaurants near me are just the same as you’d find anywhere else.
“I don’t think there’s ever been a time where I’ve eaten a (Dunkin’) doughnut and been glad that I did.” I don’t think I’ve EVER heard a more perfect description of Dunkin’ Donuts in my entire life. Absolutely perfect!

"Oh my God. It's my grandmother's toe" 😂 That had me dying, because I could hear it in Gordon's voice while Josh said it. Also! You didn't get the monster biscuit from Carl's Jr. It's my favorite breakfast item from all the fast food places we have in Oklahoma. It's got sausage, bacon, ham, egg, potato and cheese.
So I actually used to work at Chick-Fil-A and can say that I never crave the sandwiches anymore, BUT I always keep going back for the breakfast. The biscuits are made by hand every morning and minis and bowls are so good too!
I also used to work at CFA, funnily enough I always miss the fries. I feel like the chicken quality got worse over time, at least in my area. Sometimes while studying flashcards in my car I would go buy fries and a soda to snack on.
The biscuits depend heavily on who makes them. I don’t order a biscuit for my break food unless someone good makes them. Also did y’all ever pray before lunch rushes.

Not getting the chicken-minis for breakfast at Chick fil'A was a huge mistake. By far, without question, the best item on their menu. Not just their breakfast menu. The *entire* menu.
Their biscuits are always delicious; in my experience the variation is in the chicken (some too flat, not seasoned enough). Don’t know what these two were talking about.

not just dunkin, a lot of them are. My faves for breakfast are A&W & Harvey's they seem to put effort into tho their food, except the coffee its bad but no worse than most others
Availability is the key here I think - they’re EVERYWHERE and not a lot of other coffee shops or bakeries can squeeze any market share, especially here in New England. The only successful non-chain coffee/bakery are well established (opened in the 50s or whatever) or in small city centers where the DD trucks can’t go (or where DD can’t change the visuals of the interior/exterior too much so it doesn’t match their branding)
as a manager in a burger king i try to go the extra mile with flavor such as adding salt to the eggs and whenever we cook the bacon just add a spash of butter (IT IS COOKED IN A MICROWAVE) so customers have a pleasant experience

I have lived in Texas most of my life so i have been to more whataburgers than Id like to admit, so I will say most of their places dont have good breakfast. And their drive thru line during breakfast is not nearly as long as lunch time. My whataburger looks exactly like his and tastes so bad. I’m also not in Texas, so I’m wondering if it is just better ran in Texas. Will have to try it one day in the homeland.
Whataburger is mids. The things they do well, are decent, but nothing is exceptional. Their burgers taste like sonics with less maillard and shittier cheese, their fries have gotten better but still mids. I've had it in texas, and elsewhere, it's just not that good. The best thing they do is when they have chili in the fall, the frito chili pie and the chili cheese burger are outstanding.

@lucienswift447 a good sausage egg and cheese breakfast biscuit is one of life's simple pleasures, also the reason I can never be vegan,Muslim or jewish.
@@dirtygrunt I think the difference is in TN they cook them in smaller batches all day instead of one big batch before shift. Biscuits are already somewhat dry -- ANY time in a heat lamp will kill them. BO was the "safe space" even in the bad parts of town in Charlotte.
It seems like maybe outside of NC Bojangles doesn't have old ladies making biscuits? Most McD, Hardee's, Bojangles all have people making fresh biscuits, and those didn't look like what's served here.
@@rentedroom Amen brother, NC Bojangles biscuits made by experienced women are legit. Flat, hard, dry Bojangles biscuits are the problem muddying the waters.
Bojangles biscuit quality is completely determined by the skill of the biscuit maker at any given restaurant. When I worked at one a long time ago, we had a couple of grandmas who came in at 5am to make the biscuits, and they were some of the best biscuits I’ve had. Meanwhile the local Hardee’s biscuits were dense and dry. That’s the thing about bojangles. Some of the food is made more or less from scratch, so having good cooks will make it miles better than other fast food, but a bad cook might make something worse than the flash frozen stuff other places sell.
This is the comment I was looking for. The fact that the biscuits were what they hated the most is so frustrating. When done right, bojangles breakfast is UNMATCHED
McDonald's has two kinds of eggs, which employees refer to as "round egg" and "folded egg". Folded egg is poured from a carton of pre-mixed "egg mixture". Round egg is an actual egg, cracked and steam cooked on the griddle. You can substitute folded for round egg for free and it's always the right decision.
Hardee’s breakfast really is that good, I trust the ranking. Growing up I had the biscuits and gravy every week after Sunday school and it always slapped
As someone who only likes very specific things at McDonald's that aren't their burgers, the McGriddles are absolutely amazing. I might just have a sweet tooth, but I don't think they're that sweet

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is actually just a marketing slogan that was developed by cereal companies in the 1950s. Breakfast is literally the first meal you eat after you've been fasting (such as when you've been sleeping), so if you don't eat your first meal until noon, your lunch is actually when you break your fast or "breakfast." TLDR: An early morning meal being important is actually just an advertising scam. In fact, some studies show intermittent fasting can be healthier for some people. All that being said, this was one of my favorite of your comparison videos because I love ALL fast food breakfast foods (no matter when I eat them)!!!
11:07 As a person actively working at a fast food joint which sells breakfast burritos, the reason WE don't close 'em is because we use the same base ingredients on all our burritos. This allows us to prepare several ahead with just the base ingredients, and by not closing them we can pull them out and add ingredients to them. When I asked why we don't close them after we've done this, I was told "we just don't." Not sure if it's the same at Del Taco, but it is an explanation.
not closing a burrito also significantly reduces the chance that the tortilla is torn when wrapped by people who really dont know how to wrap a burrito. Since it leaves a lot of extra "wiggle" room and the ingredients dont get compacted as much.
As someone that works at Mcdonalds, the steak bagel is the best item on the breakfast menu for someone that has to eat it every morning. The steak is actually fine despite how it looks, the breakfast sauce and cheese are great, and its super filling. Its hit or miss with the bagel itself, but if they toast it right its very good. 7-8/10

This is exactly why I go to Whataburger.
i used to work at cfa for a little bit. the sausage is jimmy dean, biscuits are made fresh every morning, yellow and white eggs come from cartons. the reason the chicken is probably not crispy is because they douse tf out of the biscuits with butter, inside both sides and the tops. also the breakfast filets are marinated with a different marinade than the lunch/dinner filets so they are in fact different.

I love Andy's passion for food. Dude's kinda a beast in the food biz
"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is actually just a marketing slogan that was developed by cereal companies in the 1950s.
Breakfast is literally the first meal you eat after you've been fasting (such as when you've been sleeping), so if you don't eat your first meal until noon, your lunch is actually when you break your fast or "breakfast."
TLDR: An early morning meal being important is actually just an advertising scam. In fact, some studies show intermittent fasting can be healthier for some people.
All that being said, this was one of my favorite of your comparison videos because I love ALL fast food breakfast foods (no matter when I eat them)!!!
Yeah and we're told syrup and cereal is good for us too 😆
Woke up to this video. Made me hungry pretty fast which is funny because I’m bit the biggest fan of breakfast food.
When I asked why we don't close them after we've done this, I was told "we just don't."
Not sure if it's the same at Del Taco, but it is an explanation.
not closing a burrito also significantly reduces the chance that the tortilla is torn when wrapped by people who really dont know how to wrap a burrito. Since it leaves a lot of extra "wiggle" room and the ingredients dont get compacted as much.
I thought it was to be able to add sauces easier on the road with one hand. Lol
