The first time I went to Culver's (maybe about 20 years ago), it was AMAZING - super buttery burger, the cheese curds were cooked perfectly, the vanilla shake was great. Every time since then, it's either been underwhelming or just disappointing. It may just be that the location near me sucks, because the first time I had it was at a different location while on a vacation.
I've been to a few different locations and it's always super mid, never understood the hype. It's way overpriced for what you get too, there are multiple local burger joints in my area that serve infinitely better burgers than Culver's for practically the same price.
short and sweet, love you Josh and Christian! - keep the formula 1 style rating board, it's fun and unique, imo conveys the message better than the letter tier system everyone uses (i dont hate it i just think distinguishing yourself was a cool move)
You could take literally any ground beef, any cheese, and any barbecue sauce, and make a bbq burger that's a thousand times better than any fast food joint will ever put on the menu. Put the maple pepper bacon sandwich on the regular year round menu, CFA! It’s way better than your normal chicken club.
I agree with what you’re saying but these are service businesses. They’re there to give food for money. It is an “I will give you how ever much money for that burger” so we should say thank you at the end but it’s like the cashier saying “can I get the money?” It’s needed in the process. Gonna have to be more specific 'cause I live in the upper Midwest and have had Culver's at multiple locations multiple times and they're all bad. Bland and overly greasy, stingy with condiments. Makes me not understand the hype. (I like the custard, though.)
If you have to travel to a specific region of the US just to get acceptable food from a chain, that means the chain isn't worth a damn. Any chain is only as strong as it's weakest link.
Culver's is honestly pretty good. Except the only thing that they were exceptional at was the pork tenderloin sandwich. And it used to be fucking fire. @@letstalkaboutthomasthetrai2476 I actually find A&W prices to be pretty near to other burger places. Wendy's certainly is close, Dairy Queen too. We do have Burger King but... I'd prefer A&W first, then DQ, then BK.
@@sgtawesomeThey should teach this in Q school.
Location has everything to do with it. Ours is the best fast food I've ever had
Culver’s is goated
@@alanahr5same, I live in northern Illinois and all the Culver’s around here amazing.
I genuinely love these videos
The Maple chicken sandwich is hands down one of the best fast food items I’ve had in a very long time. So damn good
seeing Jollibee at A tier, I am happy already mwahahaha💙💙
🇵🇭
Cringe philipino monke comment
You should do a video visiting all the rare fast food places. Like the 1st mc Donald’s, 1st chickfila, etc,
That's actually really, really good idea.
Nah bro is gonna spend like $50000 in flights or gas
The editing of these videos makes it feel like Josh talks faster than anyone in the world, and never stops.
The I love weiner hats are iconic
Josh should've ordered the Weinerschnitzel "tamales" 😆 ...unless that's only a California thing
Josh, my closest Shake Shack is 6 hours away. Please for the love of god make those Carolina BBQ Burgers on the channel!!
You could take literally any ground beef, any cheese, and any barbecue sauce, and make a bbq burger that's a thousand times better than any fast food joint will ever put on the menu. I'm not kidding, even a tiny bit. There's something about the process in that kind of restaurant that makes food worse. Just slap some meat in a pan and go for it.
@@blairhoughton7918 I think the process you're talking about is the fact their sh!t are frozen
@@wintrsorrow Even Wendy's and In-n-Out, which famously don't freeze anything. No match for home-made, even with frozen stuff.
@@blairhoughton7918have you ever had Shake Shack though? It doesn’t deserve to be labeled fast food, at least not compared to the rest of the places on this list. The quality is miles above
@@doingreallybad Still tastes like fast food having a good day.
I honestly would love to see a video that if Josh was going to make his own fast food franchise what menu would he pull together. Stick to the classic of burgers, nuggets, tacos, and everything we currently can find in the wild but with different techniques and quality, or would he try to break into the space with a food item that isn't typical of fast food? Please see this comment and make this video lol
He's literally begging to open a Jollibee.
Which means I never want to eat a fucking thing he makes.
I hope Chick-Fil-A watches this video and keeps the Pepper Maple Bacon sandwich on the menu permanently 🥺❤️🐄
7:45 calling it professionnalisme just because they were the only ones recognising Joshua is hillarious to me
Your videos are always so helpful, thank you!
About the saucy nugs you rated from Wendy’s, I feel like those are a bad batch because whenever I get them at my Wendy’s down the street they’re always warm and delicious and the buffalo always has a garlic taste to it
7:06 Disagree with what you said about Wendy’s saucy nuggets. Reorder to be hot and try the spicy bbq. Wingstop is to pricey for us poor people and these nuggets do the trick.
I work at Sonic, and I can confirm that the groovy fries have replaced our old fries.
As a team trainer at an Arby's those loaded fries make me wanna cry 😭 its not supposed to have a chicken patty it's supposed to be nuggets and it looks like they didn't put enough ranch or bacon 😭😭
People say that you have to try Whataburger in Texas. I think the opposite is true of Culvers. Don’t go to a Texas Culvers 😅. Go to the Midwestern ones.
I love your videos, Joshua Weissman! You have a very creative approach, and I really enjoy all your cooking videos. A chef of 20 years with some experience in the culinary world. This videos great and I will continue to check out your channels daily. Truely inspiring :) Have a beautiful one! - Healthrecipeideasforyou
Man, I miss the old single recipe videos. I feel like those videos were the best of Joshua Weissman
The door knocking noises at 6:39 giving mild heart attacks to everyone with headphones.
The KFC Apple Pie Poppers are great! The fact that you called that pastry "biscuit dough" with your level of culinary knowledge is diabolical work
I agree CFA’s maple pepper bacon sandwich was AMAZING. I’m so sad that it disappeared off their menu shortly after this video was released. Now they have the return of their honey pepper pimento chicken sandwich… which I used to love, but now it seems quite mid in comparison to what came right before it. Put the maple pepper bacon sandwich on the regular year round menu, CFA! It’s way better than your normal chicken club.
The A&W french onion burger does exist, cause my sister had one and my friend has had them not too long ago. It might just be a regional item.
The most shocking thing out of all of these Drive-thru experiences, is the lack of 'Please' and how real the american 'Can I get?' is
WHY YA BEING A HATER
@@EasyWinkingnot hating, just an observation as somebody that says please and thank you frequently
agreed 💯
I agree with what you’re saying but these are service businesses. They’re there to give food for money. It is an “I will give you how ever much money for that burger” so we should say thank you at the end but it’s like the cashier saying “can I get the money?” It’s needed in the process. You say what you want. You give them what you owe. Say thank you
@@joshlien2118 It's just common courtesy brah :) please and thank you's should be the polite minimum
Just like when a conversation finishes you don't just walk off, you say goodbye lol
I really hate that Burger King killed the mozzarella sticks just to make them thinner and more expensive 😭
Bro eats burger king
@Bean_2923 Yeah, is there a problem with that?
@@Toadetteguy524 yeah it’s lame that’s my problem
@Bean_2923 ok, but we all have our own differences.
Obviously extremely awesome video. Seriously. Bravo weissman. I love the vibe between the two reviewers. They kill it. If it was me I’d probably give like every item an A but they are critical without sounding punkish about it. Bravo!
2:12 Texas doesn’t love you 😂
Go back to California you hipster 🖕
Yeah, they don’t😂😂
For real, does seasonal stuff and dorsnt do the Buffalo ranch chicken strip sandwich. Because he knew he'd have to give it a good review
Austin here and What-A-Burger is overrated... Just saying
@airsoftpyro Okay but are you actually Texan or a wannabe transplant living in Austin
This turned from a cooking channel to a fast food chain roasting channel
"I love Texas but their pride and joy for Whataburger I still don't understand with this place delivering yet another flop."
I love you Josh. Been a follower for ages now. You done yee'd your last haw though. You know places can have good and bad days and good and bad locations. You insult the W again and yer right to say 'ya'll'' is being revoked.
- a fellow Texan
Born and raised Texan, here. He’s not wrong. The whataburger of our youth is no more. The locations around corpus are the only ones that seem to still have it together.
This was exactly what I needed, thanks!
I Love Joshua Weissman Videos 🧡
21:07 - They added the right amount, not the white amount😂 Fuiyoh!
White people actuality make the best food in the world (Italian, French, mediterranean, etc.). Troll harder.
i hope any austrian people dont find this video 0:51
Too late

I like how there's a legit music production side to these videos lol
1. i love the mozzarella fries from bk they made me a bk fan 2. i feel so vindicated that u finally liked something from cfa they never fail me, best fast food imo!!
If you want good Culver’s you have to get it in the upper Midwest where it came from. Anywhere else is sub-par.
Naw. The one in the Nashville area is absolutely fire. Packed to capacity every single day.
But they changed it and now it's dry and thick and chewy. I want the old tender thin beautiful one back. Their root beer is unusual but delicious, also.
@@Nicole-dz7szI'm from Wisconsin the state Culver's was founded in. Ours has always been amazing and it's owned by a local
Buy the cameraman food too bro
As a midwesterner, Culver’s will always be S tier in my heart
Same I am convinced the culvers they have is just a mega trash one.
@@Deminese2I think they just ordered a trash item this time.
@@blairhoughton7918 nah they hated the butterburger before which is a travesty.
@@Deminese2I want to see them try the Curderburger 🤣
@@Deminese2 I can't remember getting a burger, but I'm sure I've had one some time. I switch between the pork loin (hoping it won't be tough again and being disappointed every time) and the walleye, which is always the bomb. So the burger may indeed be meh if it's just vanished from my memory like that.
Come to Europe and do the same video for specialty items per country.
McKroket ftw ❤
That jack n the box sandwich has been available for years on the menu for their late nite menu but is available for all hours just with an Up charge. At least 6+ years in the Midwest
Ya know TH-cam isn’t fulfilling anymore nothing is. Everything changes but these videos and many alike are the new era of long form fast paced tik Tok like content. It’s hard to enjoy a video when in 30 seconds it’s briefly gone through 4 things.
What happened to but better? 😢
This is that, but worse.
It’s because it would become too repetitive for him and it will eventually get boring for him
gotta disagree on the saucy nuggets. i think you went to a bad location.
I'm also baffled by his take on the nugs. He complained they didn't taste like garlic, but then he should have ordered the garlic parm nugs instead of the buffalo
Really appreciate the insights in this video.
“We really are unbiased” and just happen to rate the items almost exactly the same?? I would have enjoyed the video more if you tasted these separately and then compared your findings.
Sad that your channel has turned into something Tiktok-like instead of you actually cooking and showing recipes like in the past.
It’s almost like he has a job to do and to survive you have to move with trends or something.
I am german and confused. Why is there a place called "wiener schnitzel" that sells burritos? Why not..well.. Schnitzel?
Because America's don't eat schnitzel. Apparently, just crappy burgers and burritos 😂
The Cow in Edmond oder Oklahoma City! Die sind super! "Freddies" ist fantastisch!

But it's S-tier mid..
The fact the phrase 'Viral fast food' is a thing is honestly making me feel old 😂Interesting selection to see, though - in the UK we have halloumi fries at burger king instead of mozzarella, so I'll give those a try for sure!
I personally love the Carl's Jr. "Diablo" burger! It's one of the few burgers I don't have to modify or remove its ingredients and it's got the right level of spiciness with the Pepper Jack cheese, Jalapeños and Jalapeño Poppers! 🔥 I need to find my way to a CosMcs in California, though; hadn't heard of them until this video dropped.
This was super helpful, thanks!
Checkers Mozz Stix are those all the time and them being thinner is the best. Good marinara sauce too surprisingly
Very well done, appreciate this video!
Thank you for this video, very enlightening!

you rating burger king that highly was a big surprise. Actually makes me tempted to go and try them mozz fries.
The burger king in my area tends to actually be pretty good with their quality. So i imagine it'd be better over here.
