    Anymore I don't know if I'd want to hold onto a property in Florida, I'd sell it as quickly as possible. The insurance there is too expensive.

      Tax Sale Secrets hey good morning. I do have a question. If i buy a tax lien for $1000 at 16% am I getting a monthly check for $160? Or am I getting a $160 check at the end, either when the owner makes good on their lien or i take over the asset? Thank you. Im just getting started and your info is helpful.

      Hello, thanks for checking us out. And sorry for just addressing your question, for some reason it put it in the spam section. But the answer is - you only get paid when the property owner pays back the total amount plus interest to the county. Think of it kind of like a loan you are giving the county and property owner. The owner has a period of time to pay you back called the redemption period. They can pay you back anytime during the redemption period. So they may pay you back after 3 months, 6 months, 1 years or even longer than that. So if there is a 2 year redemption period you may need to wait 2 years until you get back your money. If they don't pay you back then you can foreclosure and become the new property owner. So with tax liens you wont be getting a monthly check. Hopefully that helps. Thanks, Stephen
