Hey kAN, they are all cool designs, it's true! The Rocket took me a little working out, those angled piston arms used to glitch out like crazy; until I fixed them with that little sensor/arm combo!! Shame I had to cheat with a motor, but I couldn't guarantee a direction of travel any other way, or hide a complex directional gear, god bless Lord Pain's powerless pistons!! ; )
I've made an expirimental valve gear in scrap mechanic to easily change direction. It technically uses a motor, but only as a clock to activate the pistons. I also made a version of walschaerts valve gear, a real life one, but It is extremely weak.
Ive made steam locomotives way before kAN did. Realistic too. I uploaded them but no one cared. But then kAN came along and did it and everybody loves it and people tell me that i copy other people when i dont.
Don't worry dude, a lot of my stuff barely gets noticed too!! Just keep on doing what you're doing, build what you wanna build! There's only so many things you can build in Scrap Mechanic, people will inevitably build similar designs, Trains, Tanks, Monster Trucks, Motor Bikes, Helicopters.....it's not copying, just someone else's take on the same theme! :)
Don't worry about people copying creations. Honestly many of my ideas come from things I've seen. I don't really think it matters who did it first because everyone does something a little different and worth looking at :D
actually how I train goes around the corner is the wheels the wheels have this little metal part behind the wheel that is called the lip when the lip hitch the rail and any direction the rail is going the lip will smoothly ride along the rail there's no fancy staring there's no big wheel smaller wheel it's all the same
Thanks for the reply, I do not disagree with there being a lip, however, due to a fixed axel system and the fact that the wheels cannot travel at different speeds on each side, cornering is achieved with both the lip, to prevent the wheel coming off the track and a bevelled shape wheel as I describe in the video... www.popularmechanics.com/science/a25581/science-behind-train-tracks-wheels/
Admittedly I exaggerate the size of the bevel for demonstration purposes, but the principle is still correct. As the train corners one side rides the inner of the bevel making the wheel effectively larger and the other side rides the outer part, effectively making it a smaller wheel touching the track, thus helping with the cornering. The lip is there to guide and prevent the train sliding completely off the track.
The one thing I am learning is that a lot of people like trains, but train people like the correct terminology, I apologize for the error, but at least I am learning!! 😁
I got one last thing, so your calling them "locomotion(s)" btw its called a locomotive, (ik this may seem rude, a second comment, it's just for trying to help) but over all it looks good.
uno losto fisho, you are right on that, the first to notice too! I had realised, but once uploaded, I wasn't gonna take it back down to change it, thought I got away with it........I guess not! 😉
Yes you are quite right, my bad, sorry about that, but it's not the end of the world when someone makes a mistake! Nice to see that you toned down and edited your comment though, I appreciate that!
Yeah, the first thing you said was wrong, it doesn't turn because of the bevels moving distance, but because them holding the wheels in the corner of the track.
Maybe I wasn't 100% clear in the video, but I do state that 'The Rocket' was invented and designed by George Stephenson, however it was constructed with the help of his son Robert and his friend and colleague Henry Booth, so all three worked together on getting it ready for the Rainhill Trials in 1829. Sorry for any confusion there! ; )
The actual facts over 'The Rocket' are rather sketchy at best, with different sources contradicting each other, it would seem that the concept was invented by George Stephenson, Henry booth suggested the use of a multi tubular boiler that he had designed and Robert Stephenson was heavily involved in the construction and engineering also, so a collaboration of all 3 men in my opinion! Robert himself has been quoted as saying "It was, in conjunction with Mr. Booth that my father constructed the Rocket"
Also wasnt the first passenger train. In terms of steam, the stockton and Darkington Railways Locomotion No1 hauled a passenger train on the opening day, 1825. Later on passenger trains were horse drawn until steam fully took over in 1833.

nice trains. sadly i dont have the patience to make things pretty.. i just build for the tech challenge... i would love to see this system i made used in a train.. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1139392009 you can reduce the power for a smoother ride.. this setup is just a torgue test for a mountain train route. it can pull over 2k ultraheavy blocks on a lvl track . full adjustable speed both front and reverse. and funny enough its actually fwd too :)
Did I quote him to have built it or to have been a part of inventing it? The Rocket was built at the George Stephenson and Son factory, based on inventions of George and technical design of Robert, also incorporating Henry Boothe's engine concept! So technically a cooperative work of great minds and the many hands of some hard working men!!
You are right, my bad! However; It's very easy to say the wrong thing while recording and miss it in the edit, I did notice it myself after I uploaded it and it's also been pointed out previously by others, but well done for spotting my mistake!! Short of deleting the video from TH-cam, editing it and re-upping, there is nothing I can do now, only apologize, so I am sorry if my incorrect use of the English language has offended you! ;)
Man these are all awesome little steam engines!

There is a way to guarantee direction of travel that is much smaller. Hopefully I can make it work though XD
kAN Gaming hi KAN
Love you kan
i fined it very intresting the way that a train uses steam to power its pistons and those intresting wheels to turn
3:27 Looks Like a Heavily Modified Shay Locomotive
The Rocket looked Awesome
+ItzFriendly Thanks, I'm glad you like it, I tried to get it as authentic looking as possible!!!
Don't forget Richard Trevithick and his NO.1 coalbrookdale
I can't get scrap mechanic but I still watch this anyway :}
I was just watching King Of The Railway now! Coincidence? I think not!
hthe funny thing is that i just watched kan make a train befor watching this i subed to both you and kan

3:25 thank you
+paweljur No problem dude, that is one cool steam train you made!!
It actually kinda looks accurate
is not called trailer, is called tender
+gennaro gerrard Nice knowledge, I should have known that! 😉
I always knew that
I knew that too too
well eventually there are individuals without that knowledge :P
Trailers are cargo Tender are diffrent then Trailers

rEtRo_sPexX i try to tell people but they just tell me to f off
Don't worry about people copying creations. Honestly many of my ideas come from things I've seen. I don't really think it matters who did it first because everyone does something a little different and worth looking at :D
+kAN Gaming Amen to that!! 😆
kAN Gaming i tried asking you if i could help you make a steam engine kAN. But you just deleted my comment
They have lipped wheels that grind on the track making them turn.
www.popularmechanics.com/science/amp25581/science-behind-train-tracks-wheels/
Spexxy ok, well at least I said part of it.
actually how I train goes around the corner is the wheels the wheels have this little metal part behind the wheel that is called the lip when the lip hitch the rail and any direction the rail is going the lip will smoothly ride along the rail there's no fancy staring there's no big wheel smaller wheel it's all the same

IT'S NOT CALLED CHIMENY IT'S CALLE FUNNEL
The one thing I am learning is that a lot of people like trains, but train people like the correct terminology, I apologize for the error, but at least I am learning!! 😁
Some people call it a smoke stack
The correct terminology depends on where you live (Think railway vs railroad). Don't feel intimidated if you get some terminology wrong, you do you!
The CPMR chimney iz the thing on houses
I got one last thing, so your calling them "locomotion(s)" btw its called a locomotive, (ik this may seem rude, a second comment, it's just for trying to help) but over all it looks good.

Spexxy yeah i kinda overreacted sorry my bad. And about not knowing it dont worry everyone makes mistakes 😉😃

www.popularmechanics.com/science/amp25581/science-behind-train-tracks-wheels/
can you make the Richard Trevithick's locomotive?
can you set the rocket on the steam workshop???
+The eyes of a kid It should be on there already!
okay!
i have download it now! and it is a great engine!
Pegs? Thats what I use when building my engines.
The rocket was built by Robert not George

what to klik to find the trains
It's called the "Walschaerts Valve Gear"
Thank you!
Put some coaches or cars for the rocket and some couplings on it for freinds
The “ trailer” IS CALLED A TENDER
Rocket was designed ONLY by Robert
Also wasnt the first passenger train. In terms of steam, the stockton and Darkington Railways Locomotion No1 hauled a passenger train on the opening day, 1825. Later on passenger trains were horse drawn until steam fully took over in 1833.

But without being there at the time, who will ever truly know how much of a part each man actually took?
Its called a shey locomotive the one that uses gears
+Blue Foxy You are right, it slipped my mind while I was recording, I'd watched kAN do a video on one too! My bad!! 🤓
shay** btw
Hey DO multi track drifting
3RD LIKE TOO
the second train is based off a shay
STEPHEN FROM THOMAS THE TANK ENGINE!!!!!!!
omg fucking kid's am I right
They don't know reality- the truly famous reality- just what's on thomas the train.
My name is stephen
i think it needs a valve gear
nice trains. sadly i dont have the patience to make things pretty.. i just build for the tech challenge...

The best train is Thomas is in the game and you can find it
George Stephenson didn't build rocket Robert Stephenson did

they are called train cars
That's funny i am building one when i send this if anyone wants to know Go Rail SD60E
theres a rocket but NO daylight HMPH!
Gucci gang
Idk what rocket sience but i know stephenson rocket sience
Ahem
It it George Ste-fen-son
Not George stee-ven-son
WTF IS A STEAM LOCOMOTION? its a steam locomotive!
You are right, my bad!
However; It's very easy to say the wrong thing while recording and miss it in the edit, I did notice it myself after I uploaded it and it's also been pointed out previously by others, but well done for spotting my mistake!!

YOU HAVE TO SACRIFICE THE DISIGN TO MAKE IT WORK OR I UNSUBSCRIBE
