Pouring concrete is pretty easy.............If you are just holding a camera. Matt's crew did a very good job. That happens when you know what you are doing and have the right tools.
Do you use “Tiger Hair” in your area? My concrete finisher (his uncle owns the plant) talked me into it for my RV pad and my side pad that I run my deuce and a halve on. It’s never cracked in the 20 years it’s been there.
Theres alot more to putting down concrete than people realize. You have to have a crew that knows what their doing. Like the guy walking along with the screed slightly removing a little of it off the top and adding it. He know s what he is doing for sure
8:38 = looks like a great place for drainage trough. one of the type covered by grates. Also. Thank you and the finishing crew for sharing there efforts. It is always fascinating to watch what and how they get it done. Looks like a great leader they have.
I love that excavator looks great. My 87 kobelco 903lc is almost as good but still like yours better. How do they keep the rebar off bottom? I've seen local guys use concrete bricks but I couldnt see anything really that held yours off the ground.
The shop floor where I work has a trail of racoon paw prints over a span of about 25 feet in one corner area. Some are faint, but others are very distinct. Slab was poured in 1988 and we figure it was a cool, late evening pour when that section was placed, and the crete crew left as soon as they slicked it off. After sundown the local racoons visited the jobsite to scrounge for whatever, and at least one of them walked diagonally across the slab leaving the evidence of that moment in time forever recorded in the wet concrete.
Gosh, whenever I had concrete poured there was always a “Situation “! Truck broke down on highway, worker getting chemical burn from kneeling in concrete, truck getting stuck, truck got lost, etc. How did yours go so “Perfect “? It sure does look pretty! Nice job guys!
Now I understand. You are allowed a new concrete hard standing so long as Mrs DP gets a new yellow jeep. Great videos to the three of you. Mr DP, Mrs DP and MBTS.
Great video 👍. Thanks for sharing. I don't always comment, but when I do, it's very important. I like to be relevant unlike 'onelonelyfarmer'. I thought the nice beautiful dog was gonna lift his leg. Hoss looks like a hard working boss. My favorite supervisor on this job was the homeowner. Eaglegards...
From the files of "Engineering stuff that you never wanted to know".. Did you know that the thermal coefficient of expansion of both concrete and steel is almost identical!... Which is amazing for two completely different materials. If that were NOT true, reinforced concrete would simply not exist, because the concrete would simply break off the rebar as the temperature changes!.. Think about that..No reinforced concrete anywhere in the World!
I did 20 feet from my garage, Wish I'd done 30. Probably going to pour another 10' We don't have income tax in SD, but they nail you on things like a paved driveway for proerty taxes. Since mine is well over 100' I'll not be paving it all
send um over to my house . my tiny 1 car garage floor slopes from the center to 6" to the wall. absolutely sucks walking on it or doing projects. One guy told me 5000 to fix it. dude musta been on crack
Always something good from you and this time FOR YOU! Strange thing is a DP video without you physically working the concrete - GOOD - nice to watch some 'good buddies' do the work. Speaking of concrete, KUDOS for a "RADIANT HEAT" floor in the shop. We need that here in the northeast! Consider this pour a Birthday Gift to yourself and enjoy how sweet it came out! Sonny (CT)
So Nice to have concrete instead of dirt right in front of your shop . now the shop won't be so dirty . Nice watching people pour your concrete and you get to watch and video . Great video . HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mike .
Not sure if they put air in the concrete for freeze thaw protection in your region of the country but In Canada they do and running a vibratory screed on exterior concrete is a big no no where we are because it forces the air bubbles up and out of the mix.
i hate those aluminum come a longs what a difference that makes you will be able to roll a jack out when you need to nice job thanks for the great videos
back in the 70's when I was a wall foreman we would give a redi-mix driver a $20 and he would grab a case of beer and a bag of ice on his second trip. We would all sit and drink it while we were finishing things up and cleaning our chutes and tools. Times have really changed since then and that's a good thing!
first mistake was , no expansion material from old to new concrete , along house and garage areas . when will you learn ... was it air entrained concrete , i don't see any sealer . watched till the end , still gave you a thumbs up , keep it up .
With the two open sides, it will be able to move that way. It would be different if it was enclosed on both sides by walls. I do agree he couldn't go wrong putting a sealer on.
When friends got together to help each other we always had a cook and enjoyed a meal afterwards with good conversations. It was always awesome and I remember each time
When you were flipping the bucket, was that a safety warning that was dinging? And if that was a warning ding, any way to disable that so if you are doing some smaller lifts you don’t have to listen to it the whole time lol Happy Birthday by the way!
They messed up with the rebar. Rebar should be raised about two inches above the ground and should not be left lying on top of the dirt. Rebar will serve a much better purpose if integrated into the middle of the concrete, not just left lying on the ground underneath.
Wha dose concrete cost per metre now a days your side of the pond ,two lengths of conveyor belt on your concrete when you track the machines in the shop with steel tracks stops the concrete getting damaged or chipped that’s what we did ,old jimmy Australia turned out nice these guys know there business
Not a pro by any means but have u heard of putting a rubber gasket between the old concrete and the new pour as it is suppose to relieve stress and stop the pressure and moisture between the new and old / Just saying Birthday boy ...Good videos tho
I have to say, out here in Oregon that pour wouldn't pass muster, out here you have to prop up the rebar every 24" so that it's suspended in the cement, also we have to tye the rebar together at every cross point.
@26:10, all I can here in my head is a TikTok with the sound "Come with me, and you'll see, a world of OSHA Violation"
Those guys running the concrete trucks don't get enough praise
Man they are good !!
Thank you!
Please grab an extra bag of concrete and put a side box with the kids hand prints in it. Maggie can't have all the fun. Happy B-Day DP!!!
Next time use two 45*s instead of 90*s if you have to snake it will slide thru much easier...
Pouring concrete is pretty easy.............If you are just holding a camera. Matt's crew did a very good job. That happens when you know what you are doing and have the right tools.
An experienced truck driver can make life easier for you.

Some
Concrete work looks so easy, but we all know that is not the case. It is the knowledge and experience of the crew that makes it look so easy!
Yup well said
Them drivers make it way easier.. a good operator makes a laborers job easy
Happy Birthday “that a boy”😂
Those were good drivers, makes a huge difference for sure.
Thank you!
Theres alot more to putting down concrete than people realize. You have to have a crew that knows what their doing. Like the guy walking along with the screed slightly removing a little of it off the top and adding it. He know s what he is doing for sure
It's a sight for sore eyes to see professional concrete work a very good job
The only thing missing is when we got together to do something like this, we always cooked a chicken stew or something for us to enjoy
Hi Mike, nothing to do with your new drive, I can see Maggie, but where's your black dog and what's it's name ?
At this time did not have him yet thanks
8:38 = looks like a great place for drainage trough. one of the type covered by grates.
Also. Thank you and the finishing crew for sharing there efforts. It is always fascinating to watch what and how they get it done.
Looks like a great leader they have.
Where do you get all these wonderful toys..a fantastic job 👍.I really appreciate your talent in the trade.
Thanks
Do you have a 50%nylon 50% nylon brush? Tim Odell Concrete is an awesome channel...
I love that excavator looks great. My 87 kobelco 903lc is almost as good but still like yours better. How do they keep the rebar off bottom? I've seen local guys use concrete bricks but I couldnt see anything really that held yours off the ground.
Wait a minute.. Didn't I just see Captain fixing a tire on a concrete pad earlier this morning? How'd that happen? 8*)
Time travel
Yup

Working for knowledgeable clients in the trades will definitely keep you on your toes !
He said I pay based on quality and the guy started pulling out bills 😂
Happy birthday DP love the channel. Congratulations on the big 40
Thanks buddy
You just needed railroad irons set in your concrete bring your dozer
Thought about it

Nice touch hauling the finisher around in the bucket. Beautiful job !!
Happy Birthday !

The worst thing about new concrete is keeping trucks off of it until it cures .
Here I thought it was kids and pets, especially dogs. Daddy would have threaten to shoot us kids but I can't recollect him threatening the dogs.
Hey DP, I enjoy watching all the videos of yours that keep popping up before I found your channel a couple of years ago.
30:46 I was thinking to myself, ahh your one of them kind of customers!
Het ziet er geweldig uit top job 🤩👍👌✊💪 Groetjes uit Holland 🥰👋🏼🌷🌷

Dirt Perfect, Did you build it to hold up a Cat D7? I use that size dozer for driveway strength. I do not see owning a D7. This is my dreams.
Turned out great Mike.
You deserve a pat on the back for a job well done.
🤣😂🤣😂
I’m surprised MBTS wasn’t there to “assist” holding a rake or broom. 😉
Thanks and got called back to work
Shortage is always our fault. Even if you can stick your foot under the form boards 🤨🤨🤨
Lol 😆
You should of installed zipper drains in front of the garage doors. looking good what psi concrete you using?
Absolutely not don’t want that headache and 5k
So Nice to have concrete instead of dirt right in front of your shop . now the shop won't be so dirty . Nice watching people pour your concrete and you get to watch and video . Great video . HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mike .
Looks great there’s definitely a lot involved in concrete more than you would think for a slab in the driveway
You know DP Captain gave away that you put the concrete down 3 weeks ago putting new tires on the dump truck. LOL Looks good.
Just a passing thought, but the last time I saw you demo a new piece of equipment, you bought it. Btw, the concrete job looks good.
Lol true
Love watching concrete work, Great video, Always great content. Kind of miss MBTS.
Thanks
Thats alot of Concrete and Happy Birthday to another Michael best name ever , mines may 9th. So stay safe
Thanks
That power screeder is just neater than a skeeter’s tweeter!
I get ate up with hate comments when I pour concrete on our channel. Good work Dirt Perfect.

Daniel from central Mississippi
Happy b day.
Look like had good truck driver. Nice work.

@@DirtPerfect Mrs SOT dropped the ball. She should have let me know. lol

5 inch and 3/8 inch rear. The 5 inch may be overkill and stick out of the concrete. Lol God bless
i hate those aluminum come a longs what a difference that makes you will be able to roll a jack out when you need to nice job thanks for the great videos
The cobbler kids shoes are always in need of work? Just like the contractor house is always is last to be worked on.
1st HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE! what has happened to MBTS, haven't seen him in your videos in awhile?
Thanks and back to work for a bit
Beautiful job. Thanks for the video ❤
That's something I would love to do here. But I just can't seem to be able to accept the cost.
back in the 70's when I was a wall foreman we would give a redi-mix driver a $20 and he would grab a case of beer and a bag of ice on his second trip. Great job Maggie is just a sweetheart you need more of Her and be nice to Maggie.
Any extra concrete for Mrs Dirt Perfect's fire pit foundation?
How many electricians does it take to screw in a light bulb?
If nothing else, the "warning beeper" for the quick attach on that Hyundai is a whole lot less aggravating than the screaming buzzer on most machines!
Yes it is
Mike great video, looks like a great crew. Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Thanks
Looks like you enjoyed being the customer for once.😅😅
😁
first mistake was , no expansion material from old to new concrete , along house and garage areas . when will you learn ... was it air entrained concrete , i don't see any sealer . watched till the end , still gave you a thumbs up , keep it up .
Think it be fine with no expansion. With it open ended on 2 sides.
With the two open sides, it will be able to move that way. It would be different if it was enclosed on both sides by walls. I do agree he couldn't go wrong putting a sealer on.
@ 23::48 Zach the millennial farmer doesn't pick those animals though 😁
lol got it
When friends got together to help each other we always had a cook and enjoyed a meal afterwards with good conversations. It was always awesome and I remember each time
Its always satisfying to watch Craftsman do their thing
Rule of thumb, always make those who work for you feel good and confident.
It make them work better and your life much easier.
They did a real good job too :)
Tighten up the screed blade! Looks great
When you were flipping the bucket, was that a safety warning that was dinging? And if that was a warning ding, any way to disable that so if you are doing some smaller lifts you don’t have to listen to it the whole time lol Happy Birthday by the way!
Yes
Call that guy doing the concrete is concrete perfect

Look closer and try again 🤷♂️
just call Jeff from Muddy feet he can pump it for you
Hi did grandma's project all done now and is she happy with it done.
Still working on it but getting close
I counted at least 6 at'a boys in this video. Where did you mount the Cap'n birthday gift for you Mike? We want to see it in action.
Lol haven’t yet
Wha dose concrete cost per metre now a days your side of the pond ,two lengths of conveyor belt on your concrete when you track the machines in the shop with steel tracks stops the concrete getting damaged or chipped that’s what we did ,old jimmy Australia turned out nice these guys know there business
135 a yard

Odel concrete TH-cam will show you the way
Happy Born Day Mike!🎂🍾
Got to love them Helpful Home Owners. You know that cost extra, right ?
😝😂
Bunkerbranding makes stickers and decals.
Not a pro by any means but have u heard of putting a rubber gasket between the old concrete and the new pour as it is suppose to relieve stress and stop the pressure and moisture between the new and old / Just saying Birthday boy ...Good videos tho
Yes just a big fan of if
@DirtPerfect, Happy Birthday Young Man

Concrete looks great!!!
What magnetic mounts do you use for your GoPro?
Thanks cheep ones off Amazon
You could go with excavator tooth pattern in the concrete
Happy Birthday Brother. Lt. Dan is draining the piggy bank..... lol
Thanks
As you said Mike, that pad is going to keep a ton of dirt out of the shop and house. Looks great, kudos to those guys for a job well done.
Hey man I just bought my first Jd 490 excavator Jw how to read the vin to see the year of it
Not for sure
Happy-B-day 🎂🎉
And a niiiiit slab 😁
I have to say, out here in Oregon that pour wouldn't pass muster, out here you have to prop up the rebar every 24" so that it's suspended in the cement, also we have to tye the rebar together at every cross point.
Well last I checked not there thanks
Just my opinion but probably should have put a piece of expansion along edge of garage to separate the two
Thanks but disagree
Watch it!
Poles are watching...
Nice job DP
Thanks
cant wait for the new podcast to nigth
Those guys did a good job
Loved the Mellinial Farmer reference! LOL
Any one else see him trying to fit a blade to the 120
