      Rideshare Silver not sure if things have changed since this video, but drivers are paid $5 for no shows, the wait pay begins the moment the timer starts. The app tells you this every time.

    Awesome video !!! It looks like once I turn on the app and I get a ping or ride request I only have 1 minute to accept the job. But it takes me more than a minute to figure out where I have to go to pickup the customer, how long it will take to get there, how long it will take to get to the destination, the total time needed and the total miles driven. Is there a quick way to grasp all that info in less than a minute? I'm just trying to figure out how much total time and distance the ride is going to take so I can see if I have enough time or if it's worth my time. Thanks !!!

    Be careful when using the scheduled rides. Once you go on line you can receive a request for a ride even though you have a scheduled ride a few minutes away. Now if you chose to refuse the new request it goes as a ding on your record as having refused a ride. I was told that if you accept the new ride Lyft would then get someone else to pick up your scheduled passenger.

    • @ridesharesilver
      @ridesharesilver  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know exactly what you're talking about and I too find it incredibly frustrating as I usually have planned my day around the scheduled ride. But, if I do get a call other than my scheduled one, I just take it and grumble a bit, or ignore it if my acceptance rate can take a little hit.

    • @ridesharesilver

      I don't know what harmonized sales tax number means either. That might be something required in your state. My suggestion would be to go into your local Lyft Hub for help. Here is a video about signing up to be a driver but it doesn't have anything about harmonized sales tax. th-cam.com/video/Jg2D49SQtXA/w-d-xo.html
      Sorry I couldn't be of more help. But, it is important when you apply to drive that you use a promo code in order to qualify for Lyft's sign-up bonus. CHERRYCITY is mine or PINKBALLOONS.
      I just looked up HST and here is some info on how to get one.
      How do I get a HST number?
      You can do this in one of three ways:
      Over the web via Business Registration Online (BRO). ...
      Over the phone by calling the Canada Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-5525.
      By downloading RC1-Request for a Business Number, filling out the form and mailing it to the Canada Revenue Agency.

    Thank you for the video. I have a question about destinations. Do you know the riders destination before you accept the ride or the pick up?

    • @ridesharesilver
      @ridesharesilver  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Michelle Joplin you don't know your passenger's destination before you pick them up. However if it is a pre-scheduled ride, they showed the pick-up location and destination before you decide to take the ride. Also in some cities you can set a destination and choose to pick up passengers who are going along the route of your destination. This is usually if you are heading home and you set your destination to your home address and see if anybody it's a ride in your direction. Hope that was helpful and I'm glad you found my video of value.

    Actually....taxes, gas, vehicle maintenance, clothing, food, vehicle insurance, washing and cleaning of the vehicle, Go Pro camera for protection, phone and phone services, replacing of the vehicle when mileage gets to high, adds up up to 0 left over. Now as a business you can show a loss for up to 7 years as far as the IRS is concerned and than you better be showing a profit or they will be knocking at your door.

    Does all your earnings go to gas and maintenance?

    • @ridesharesilver
      @ridesharesilver  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, I would say 25% or so. But taxes are a thing. So you have to plan for that. The good thing is that you can write off your mileage at 54.5 per mile which adds up quickly. For me, it's a part time thing. The best part is I drive when I want to. As little or as much as I want (legally). Gives me enough extra cash to make me happy, but there are drivers who are full time but to make a good living, plan to drive 60 hours a week (depending on where you live).

    • @flyguyry1
      @flyguyry1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      but how do you know which miles are for your rides and which are for personal use when you write them off for taxes?

    • @ridesharesilver
      @ridesharesilver  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Sarge There are some free apps you can download that track your miles while you are driving. Stride Tax is one. At the end of the year the Lyft app will tell you how many miles you've driven while the app is on but it doesn't cover the total miles you've been driving to find passengers. So I would definitely suggest getting an app that you can turn on when you're driving.
