Super job. Keeping the stock gas tank and suspension is tough on a build like this but you pulled it off.

Been wanting to do this to a 1100 or 1200 for a while. Yours turned out awesome. Good inspiration :D

I friggin' LOVE it. I'm eager to grab a GL1200 myself. But I'm stuck working on a "CB900K0 Bol Bomber" and "KZ440LOL" right now, with nice fat tire style wire-spoke rims on the both of 'em. But the more I look at 41mm TRAC forks for my Bol the more I fall in love with the Nekkid GL1200 chassis - I wanna do a replica of the "DLF-1000" Endurance Racer, with of course the wire-spoke rims on it. The major question being what size of TIRE can fit on the rear? As for the HUB, there's a brilliant method on a GL1100 rear wheel aka CB900C done by one "6kprunner" wherein the rear hub was spooled down to a plug on a lathe, then welded into a drum hub that's been hollowed out side-to-side. Brilliant, hey? So you can have wire-spoke rims on ANYTHING now. And it would probably cost less than anything to do with adapting an alternative wheel and brake etc. My major question is what size of TIRE though, what sort of room is in the swing-arm. I've got EIGHT different rims suitable for the CB750K rear drum hub: 2.5 3.0 3.5 & 4.25 in the 18" diameter, 4.25 & 5.0 in 17" diameter, and 3.0 & 3.5 in 16" which of course is what's ON the GL1200 to start with, right? Either way, I've gotta get my hands on a 'Wing. And I'm looking for a GL1200 or GL1500 41mm TRAC fork for my CB900F aka "CB900K0 Bol Bomber" - I already have the same 296mm vented rotors, so it should be a straight across swap to the 12's fork, but the 15's fork has the 20mm axle so that's some more mods to deal with. Then again, I want to do something with a GL1500 front "HUB" at some point, with a wire-spoke conversion of that whole shrouded front brake for a fake 4LS drum like folks often do with the CBX550F "inboard disc" hub. So maybe that's the better way to tackle that 20mm axle? Ha-ha. There's also the GL1000 front hub with two of the CB750K0-'K6 style single front discs, which would suit the GL200's 15mm front axle. Either way, I'm gonna grab a Goldwing FORK pretty quick here and sooner or later I've gotta get my hands on a GL1200! I love the beefy chassis & low C-of-G muscle-bike looks, and it seems to ME at least, easier to add wire-spoke rims to a GL1200 than to beef up a chassis and big-bore motor on a '75-'77 GL1000 - Even more than that I love the challenge of stripping off all of that bodywork - And replacing it with a huge Endurance Racer bubble fairing. You have no idea what a blessing it is to have that welded tab on the steering stem, 'cause I've got to go to all sorts of trouble to put a bubble fairing on my CB900K0 the fairing winds up weighing a heck of a lot more than otherwise. Even though it's nice to have that easy method of adding a fairing, damn Craig Vetter all the same for what he did to the Gold Wing!

Sweet! I am in the process of transforming an 85 Aspencade. I was thinking about a red frame but couldn't envision it until your video. Great job! Did you do a blog on your build?
