Just what I needed
Ring announced a peep hole product recently. I like though that this has a screen with where as the ring you don't get that you just use your phone. Also the sensing to turn the screen on/off is nice. As for record the screen to save, that's similar to the wyze cam which i actually don't mind because then I can quickly trim out parts of the video I don't need. The app actually looks very similar.
I suppose with the ring one, if there battery goes out you can still use it like a normal peephole, but the screen is just way easier to see right away.
@Steve Does Great video review. At 8:15 on video, have you tried going it to the gui of the camera to see if your able to make contrast & WDR settings changes? I know it's possible on the Laview doorbell.
Do u have gopro plus with ur gph7? If yes, does the doorbell storage save to the gph7 cloud?
Subbed for the honesty about the superfluous nonsense makers put on the phone apps associated with these products that nobody gives a F about . Why do people try to sell you what they would want and not what you want?

The only other peephole doorbell I’ve used is Rings and I really like it. I just added a link to it in the video description.

Steve DOES That makes me uneasy because there are lots of reported problems with Ring door bells. Was hoping you were going to be my go yo guy in this regard. Live in apt. Need peephole type only.

The Peephole Door cam actually requires a hole, even though one does not have to be added. It uses the existing peephole. I am looking to get a hurricane impact door. I live in South Florida which is a major hurricane zone. I was advised that peepholes cannot be added to hurricane impact doors. However, I would like to be able to know who is outside my door before I open it (it could be The Big Bad Wolf!)

I worry of getting false alarm like I do from my ring doorbell when there are white trucks or garbage trucks. Do you get false alarms from ppl across you coming and going?
The rang is only about 10 feet so i typically only get notified when someone walks by.

Hey I bought the same camera but I am unable to connect my iPhone to it, says device not supported. Any idea how to fix this?
I how I am not too late. You can use different app from same company. Mine did not work with Laview One but it did work with Laview Connect. Hope this helps
This is exactly the same product as the EZVIZ DP1 smart door viewer. The only difference is the camera housing is round. Everything else is identical. Is LaView a part of EZVIZ?

Yes you can. When you go to settings it says that connection to Alexa is in beta.

You’re right, I can’t find it either. I’m expecting Amazon to have an Event in October we’re they announce all their new products. Maybe there will be an updated version. I sure hope so because it’s one of their best products.

Bought a brand new, never lived-in house with one of these installed. But I am unable to add it to my account as it says it is already connected to someone else's account. I have tried everything customer service has said to try, even directing me to install some other weird app to unlink it...why can't the company just unlink it from the account that it's linked to?? So it's basically JUNK!
You have to reset it.. read the manual see how to reset
I am looking for something I can just put inside the existing peaphole, I guess I will have to make it with a raspberry pi.
