Putting the brake light switch is really tough, it's a tight space and it takes a lot of patience to remove the dash.

Gracias Angie por tu tutorial. Me ha sido de gran utilidad. Mi Prius es del 2004 y se lo he puesto. La mayor dificultad ha sido conectar el cable ya que si no le pones el alargador va muy justo y con el poco sitio que hay se hace muy complicado.

How did you know taht you have to replace Stop light switch?

It is even much easier in lexus ct200h .... took me 15 mins to install and it works

Was it just plug and play? I've got the same car as you in London UK. Planning to source a generic cruise control switch from Ebay to do an install on my CT200H, Just nervous about removing the airbag system.

@@mohammedahmed786786 yes, it was just plug and play but i bought original "used" part produced by lexus/toyota (i checked with my VIN number to buy a proper one as there are a few similar looking versions available) + as I heard people had some problems with chinese replacements. If you are careful you can just remove airbag without unplugging it and install that cruise control. I decided to remove airbag and unplug all airbag wires so i also had to disconnect the main battery first - that located on the back right side of the car (after that there is a special procedure to start the system after connecting the battery again).

3:12 many online sellers don't have stop light switch in installation kit. Do you know part number of the new stop light swith?

Bravo.!!! Great piece of DIY..!!! Brave as hell to play with the switches and the wiring ;) So how did u manage to fix the cover where the cruise control is at? Did u drill a hole? Would love to see the test ride though..!!

Hi where did u get this kit from because I ordered 1 for my amazon for my 2007 Prius which doesn't have cruise control as standard..
All I got was the cruise stick and 2 screws I am missing the brake switch adapter plug 🔌 2pin and 4 pin plug adapter..
Could you help me with this am in the UK thanks

Yes! The brake light switch has to have 4 connectors. I advise you to also buy the cable supplement, it is just right to reconnect ...

using cruise drastically lowers MPG on a hybrid, so does the heater and AC. Run all those and lose the advantage of having a hybrid!! putting cruise on a hybrid is a catch 22!
