Set Your Child Up for Success!

📢 Parents, listen to this important message from Mr. Dunn! The Summer Slide and the COVID Slide are REAL and we can do a few simple things to help our kids get caught up and set them up for success! Here are a few things you can do to help your child:

📕 CHILD READS TO YOU
Just 15-30 minutes a day does wonders! The book should be on their reading level & something they enjoy. Throughout the book, stop and ask them questions to see if they understand what they've read.
📖 YOU READ TO CHILD
Use any book you like! It's so important for kids to hear what good reading sounds like. Use inflection with your voice to make the story come alive. Use any book you like! Ask questions throughout the book to see if your child understands what's going on in the story and ask them to make predictions about what will happen next!
🧮 SIMPLE MATH FACTS

Count sets of objects forward and backward to 20.
1️⃣ 1st
Practice counting objects by 2s, 5s, and 10s and counting groups of coins to find the value.
2️⃣ 2nd
Practice counting money and telling time on a traditional clock.
3️⃣ 3rd
Practice solving problems with addition and subtraction within 1,000. Practice reading time to the nearest minute using a traditional clock.
