    It’s either a 79 or 80 model. Assuming the side cover is the correct one as well as the tank. If you check the engine cc on the cylinder, if it says 123cc then it’s the 79, if it’s got 124cc the you have the 80. 81 went water cooled.

    • @jcaptnnitro1
      @jcaptnnitro1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      81 was also “full floater” not dual shock like the 80 and 79

    Wet sanding the plastics is needed. Start with 400 And work up to 1000 then use a rubbing compound to finish it. Just saved the rear fenders on a 200x I just bought.

    The more clapped the more entertaining due to the end results that you give.
    Once had an older honda that turned out it was stolen over 20 years ago, contacted the folks and they just said keep it due to them not even remembering the bike, i wouldnt worry with a bike this old honestly. Its a downside yes but isnt that bad overall

  • @thenorthshore6472

    It's a 79 RM 125 N. That year had a rev limiter. The grey wire off the coil if I remember right. Most people unplugged or clipped that wire. It gave the bike much more top end. Those were great bikes. I ran mine hard and in over 10 years never had a single problem. Bought it new in 79 and should of never sold it!

    Wow I had one of those when I was a teenager way back in the seventies. It was a TM 125 but it looks exactly the same. I think the difference was the RM had a 1 ring racing piston and the TM did not.

    I’ve got an old 1974 Harley Davidson ss125 2 stroke. I’m looking to learn more about mechanics and was recommended to watch your channel. I’ve got a complete bike and the engine turns over, but it won’t catch. Carb is clean and my spark plug is new, I think the problem might be my petcock but I was just curious if anybody here had any ideas where I could get started in regards to diagnosing issues and troubleshooting. It’s a super simple engine one carb, one cylinder, kickstart, so there’s not many things to go wrong. Any help is appreciated thanks in advance.
