I agree that Freddie is the worst character in the franchise, but the reason Michael turns around and walks away from Freddie isn't because he's afraid of or was embarrassed by him, but because Freddie mentioned that Nora was in the garage.
There is a theory of Michael sees a double of himself who told him who to kill or somewhat hears voices which is why Freddy was spared But my honest opinion, when I was saw this, this director is a joke, Michael Myers (Nick Castle, Dick Warlock, Tyler Mane and Courtney H18) would've had Freddy on his knees
I didn't mind Dr Sartain. There are lots of people who obsess about killers to the point of lunacy. People try to understand or explain killers, which is what Sartain was doing. His whole character plot was meant to further explain that even after years of observation and therapy Michael is an unreasonable killing machine. I think in a way, Dr sartain is a jab at the other sequels and the Rob zombie movies for trying to explain or make us understand Michael. When Michael stomps his head in the movie is saying "bitch you don't KNOW me and you never will" which in my opinion makes me content with the inclusion of Sartain.
6:31 The problem with the cops and their clown music was that that music basically said "These guys are just here to be comic relief." Characters who have comedic moments are fine. Characters who are there just to be comedic and nothing else aren't. People like natural humour. Those guys were forced "Laugh at these two because they're apparently SO funny" types. Characters who are just there to be funny hardly ever work and are almost never funny.
The Dr. Sartain twist makes sense tho. It’s hinted at from the very beginning. It makes him different from Loomis and without it, Michael wouldn’t have ended up at Lauries house.

I honestly liked Tina and she's one of my favorite characters of the series. Tina was way nicer to Jamie than Rachel was. Rachel constantly groaned and moaned about having to do anything for Jamie in Halloween 4 and was only marginally nicer to Jamie in 5. Note Tina isn't even related to Jamie unlike Rachel (even if they are adoptive sisters.) and still showed more compassion for the girl. Tina was a stereotypical 80s party girl, although she seemed to have a lot of moments where you see her toggle between showing an insecure side hidden behind her outgoing facade. So when she spazzes out about "Never being sensible if I can help it." when confronted by Loomis, it's her internal struggles playing out in front of everyone. It's a showcase of a girl that uses her "I don't care, I just wanna party." mentality as an act to cover the fact that she's really insecure. And in the end, she died trying to save Jamie. Freddie was not so much a bad character to me. I do think the Martial Arts vs Michael Myers ending was extremely dumb, and was a poor choice on the writers parts. But the "I'm Michael Myers" scene, I feel, people misread. I think the scene was perfect as it showcased Myers' cleverness. We all know Mike would have normally murdered Freddie on sight. However Myers figures with a decoy running around it disarms people when he's discovered to be a fake. Also Freddie tells Myers, as mistaken for a PA, to go help Tyra Bank's character in the monitor room. And thus He takes that lead to go murder her, the other person that could see that there are two Myers walking about. That's just my take on it. I hope all of my banter at least gave another perspective on those characters.
No. Literally the only time Rachel complained about having to look after Jamie in 4 was when she wanted to go out with Brady but when Jamie heard that Rachel realised how selfish she was being. But to Tina fucking her boyfriend was more important than Jamie. She was annoying and not funny at all. Having her sacrifice herself to save Jamie was just an attempt by the writers to guilt people into liking her IMO. The way Tina died would have been more fitting for Rachel. It'd be in character for Rachel to die to save Jamie.
Totally agree about Tina. I get why people think she was annoying but also feel she was covering up some fear and vulnerability with her zaniness as well. She wanted one night away from Dr. Loomis's "boogeyman crap" and cops and threats and promised to return to Jamie in the morning -- I don't get why that makes her a repulsive character. She was different from Rachel and Laurie, and I found her energy refreshing. I actually wonder if that's part of the hate her character gets: I mean, people legitimately think Tina is annoying, but I know a big swath of them were pissed Rachel got axed so quickly -- and then Tina took her place in the story and maybe people hated that it wasn't Rachel. From a writing standpoint, it should have been Rachel, but it's not Tina's fault as a character that she became Jamie's next sister stand-in. I don't know, it doesn't even matter, lol. We all like what we like and dislike what we dislike.
Malcolm McDowell's Doctor Loomis was awesome in Halloween 2007, my favorite thing about his version of Dr. Loomis was the fact that he wanted to save Michael. But unfortunately he become a douchebag in Halloween 2 2009.

Dr Sartain repeated the mistake in what was an absurdly boneheaded decision.
She wasn't too bad in the theatrical version of the film. The extended cut was so bad, it turned her into a shrieking bitch. At least in the theatrical version, it cut out a majority of it, though Scout Taylor-Compton in general tends to shriek when she uses a higher pitch. So maybe it wasn't intentional on her part to sound like a freaking harpy.
If it were me, in the sequel there would be a reveal where Cameron comes out of nowhere and saves Allyson and company, later revealing his grandfather is none other Dr. Loomis, making the reason why he messed with Lonnie back in '78 is not just cause he heard his name, but cause he's Loomis' son and was pissed that he didn't heed his warnings about ol' Mikey.

I agree about the rape scene in the Halloween remake. As soon as it got to that scene I pulled the DVD from my player and haven't watched that movie since. It was unnecessary. I remember kind of liking the remake in theaters but when I bought the DVD suddenly there is this graphic rape scene. It was disgusting and I gave it to my Dad to sell at a flea market he was taking stuff to.

I saw Halloween '18 in the cinema and as soon as Sartain popped up into shot after killing Hawkins wearing Michael's mask, the whole cinema pissed themselves laughing. And not,' Oh my god this is funny' kind of laughing, but 'Fuck, this is some stupid shit' kind of laughing. Almost took everyone out of the movie completely. Just awful. Edit: That rape scene in Rob Zombie's first Halloween film is horrible and unnecessary and disgusting. Just, why? Just about every character in RZ’s Halloween movies deserves to be on here except for Sheriff Brackett, because he’s the only genuine person in those 2 movies and Brad Dourif is fantastic in the role
Before I make my list I'm just gonna say that Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 was by far the worst in the franchise!

The unicorn bullshit and hallucinations is what makes H2 so terrible. The first was fairly solid but I believe the second one is what gives Zombie' s franchise a bad rep overall.
I'm convinced Zombie got high while he was writing his Halloween II, the stuff in the film was what he saw while he was high and when he came down from it he wrote what he saw into the script. Of course his wife in black and white robes might just be a fetish.

I agree about the rape scene in the Halloween remake. As soon as it got to that scene I pulled the DVD from my player and haven't watched that movie since. It was unnecessary. I remember kind of liking the remake in theaters but when I bought the DVD suddenly there is this graphic rape scene. It was disgusting and I gave it to my Dad to sell at a flea market he was taking stuff to.
Every character in both Rob Zombies movies except Annie and her dad are the worst. And busta rhymes character.

Yea he ruined Loomis no doubt in H2. I don't even like talking about it. The rage builds up everytime I think about that roadkill of a movie. To this day I haven't watched it since when I bought it on DVD back in 09 at Wal-Mart because I never went to see it in theaters. I almost broke my laptop too lol. I just sat there dumbfounded & when Michael talked that was the shitty cherry on top. I wanted run outside screaming why why why & keep running & running lol.

Rob Zombie's Halloween was the best ever
I saw Halloween '18 in the cinema and as soon as Sartain popped up into shot after killing Hawkins wearing Michael's mask, the whole cinema pissed themselves laughing. And not,' Oh my god this is funny' kind of laughing, but 'Fuck, this is some stupid shit' kind of laughing. Almost took everyone out of the movie completely. Just awful.
Edit: That rape scene in Rob Zombie's first Halloween film is horrible and unnecessary and disgusting. Just, why? As you guys said, there was no reason for it, it added nothing to the film, and was just an excuse to be gross and 'shocking'. Turns my stomach, dudes.
