In 2019, SM collaborated with Capitol Records, USA, and assembled a group of seven of the best artists in KPOP to debut in the USA: SuperM. In fact, they even collaborated with Marvel after having been dubbed the Avengers of KPOP. Of course, Taemin was the first chosen and helped pick the other six members. Though not the eldest member, he is the senior member of the group due to the length of time he’s been in the industry. As such, he would have been leader, but he deferred that task to Baekhyun of the group EXO (who’s slightly older than Taemin). The main reason, Taemin has been the maknae of SHINee his entire career and didn’t feel he would be best suited to lead the others. However, he is the center of the group and they ALL (including Baekhyun) defer to his experience and take his advice to heart. He is very caring towards his dongsaengs (juniors) and was nicknamed Taemresa (inspired by Mother Teresa). Baekhyun is an incredible leader, by the way…don’t want anyone to misunderstand my intentions behind what I’ve said.

I just realized that all of SuperM are trained vocalists, but they're all also rappers. Lucas ofc raps for WayV, but Baekhyun raps with EXO-CBX, Ten & Taemin rap in thier solos, Kai raps in EXO & Mark & Taeyong rap in NCT.
SuperM was geared towards a Western market, so English is more prevalent in thier songs.
SuperM debuted 2019 both in the USA and South Korea..under SM ent and partner Capitol Records in the USA(label company of Katy Perry and Sam Smith).
Their 1st EP/mini album topped the billboard chart.
They had a concert in the USA and also promoted in the Ellen de Generes show, James Corden and the late late show.
Baekhyun(EXO) is the leader of SUPERM.

At the moment they are not active because Baekhyun and other member Taemin is in the military..to be discharged early next year. So we won't know until then whats their next project.

That's the pain of international EXO-Ls - SMEnt ignore the fact how popular EXO are outside Asia. But SuperM have dope songs and their albums are 🔥. I hope you'll react to 'Tiger Inside' and 'We do'. Also their acoustic session shows their melodic 'soft' side: Dangerous Woman, Better Days, Wish You Were Here... And their best b-sides are Drip and No Manners imo

SuperM was created by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records in Los Angeles, California. This group features 7 of the best of the best when it comes to dance, vocals, rap and performance in Kpop. The members of SuperM are some of the top artists from SM's most popular groups. Baekhyun who is one of the best vocalist in the industry and Kai who is one of the top 2 dancers in the industry are from EXO; Taemin is the other top dancer in the industry with one of the most well respected solo careers and he is a member of the legendary group SHINee (Taemin is considered the Michael Jackson of Korea); Taeyong is the leader of NCT and he is known for his dancing and rapping and Mark is the main rapper from NCT-127/NCT-U; and Ten is the main dancer and lead vocalist and Lucas is a rapper and visual of NCT-U/WayV.
SuperM debuted in the U.S. in October 2019, so that is why all of their main track songs are mostly in English, because, as their debut song, "Jopping" was meant to by their foyer into the U.S. music market, and all their other songs are supposed to build on that.
SuperM are considered the Avengers of Kpop because the group is so multi-talented, with some of the most influential idols in the industry, representing multiple nationalities and Kpop generations, who are poised to take over the world.
Mark is Korean-Canadian, so his native language is English. And WayV is the Chinese sub-unit of NCT, so not only does Ten and Lucas speak Korean and English, but they also speak Mandarin. Ten also speaks Thai because he is from Thailand and Lucas speaks Cantonese because he is from Hong Kong and a little Thai because his mom is Thai. And although, Baekhyun, Kai, Taemin and Taeyong are all native Korean, they also speak many other languages. For example, Taemin and his group SHINee are very popular in Japan, so he is fluent in Japanese as well.
Baekhyun is the leader and the oldest member who is currently 29. Mark is the youngest at 22. However, Taemin is the one with the most seniority in the group. Taemin is only 28 years old, but he debuted 4-10 years before any of the other members of SuperM. Taemin debuted as a member of SHINee in 2008 when he was 14 years old, so he is a super senior member of the group. In other words, as part of the hierarchy of respect, Taemin is the one everyone looks up to. Which, might be why Taemin was chosen to play such a major role within the group's storyline, and why we have seen him prominently featured in almost everything to do with SuperM.
The concept for SuperM is supposed to be like the Avengers, so I see it as each of the members are a different kind of superhero that make up the larger "Avengers" group. Just like how the Marvel Avenger members come together from all walks of life with all different abilities and powers, etc. to make up one big supergroup.
I think the concept of the group all stems from EXO's concept and storyline. As you may know, the members of EXO are all supposed to be aliens from Planet Exo, and each of the members has a superpower that is specific to them. From day one, EXO's story has been that they were sent to Earth on a mission to find and protect the Tree of Life from the Red Force, while also trying to fix all the things that are going wrong in the world, which are thought to be caused by the Red Force. As a member of EXO, Baekhyun has the power to control light and Kai has the power of teleportation, so those powers are nothing new for them -- you see Kai teleport at the beginning of "Jopping" and you see Baekhyun using his light power as the car speeds away, etc. However, the concept of superpowers is new for all the other SuperM members. (You will see the other member's special powers and abilities if you check out all of their teaser trailer videos which were originally released leading up to the release of "Jopping.")
Therefore, I think because Kai and Baekhyun are part of the group, SuperM's storyline is tied to EXOs storyline. I think SuperM are supposed to be coming together to fight the Red Force and to prevent or stop the Red Force from corrupting and taking over the world, etc.
And just like the Marvel Avengers members each have their own Superhero story, when they come together to form The Avengers they combine their story and concept and weave elements of each of the member's backstories into The Avengers storyline. I see SM Entertaiment doing the same thing with SuperM.
Also, just like how the Marvel Avengers come together to combine their strengths and powers to help fight Thanos, I see parallels with what SM is doing with SuperM's storyline. SuperM is taking members from each group and joining forces to take down the Red Force. And just like how the movies "Avengers Identity War" and "Avengers Endgame" eventually had each of the Marvel Avengers members recruiting their whole crew to help in the fight, I think SM is setting it up so that all of its groups' members will eventually be brought into the fight.
And although NCT and SHINee don't have a backstory that has anything to do with being Superheroes in the same way as EXO does, I find it interesting that, for example, NCT and WayV have songs called "Superhuman" and "Take Off" which both have sort of superhero type themes in their MVs, and one of Ten's solo songs is called "New Heroes". With what I know about SM, it wouldn't surprise me if this is something they have had in the works for a really long time and they probably have been creating ways to foreshadow things to come in SuperM that create connections between the members and their original groups. One thing SM has mastered since the creation of EXO, is how to tell a story and how to create a mystery that connects even the most minute of details together to build an epic adventure for fans.
SuperM's storyline is already connected to EXO's storyline, and I think SM may be working on expanding the story to its other groups, in the same way that "The Avengers" connects all the individual superheroes' stories when they come together to form The Avengers.
If the SuperM Avengers are coming together to help EXO stop the Red Force, I think the members who are part of SuperM are the liaisons who are helping to connect all the groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT and WayV -- together. For example, right after SuperM released "Jopping," WayV came out with their MV for "Moonwalk" and I think the story in their "Moonwalk" MV is a continuation of "Jopping's" storyline, and now I think WayV's "Turn Back Time" MV is also part of that story.
There are parts of several of WayV's MVs, such as "Moonwalk," where it looks as though Ten and Lucas are there to gather the members to bring them into the battle, and in "Turn Back Time" it looks like the WayV members are all beat up like they have been in a fight, which means they could have been in a battle with the Red Force, etc.
To help explain, I think EXO, as members of SuperM, are working with the other "Avengers" members to try and stop X-EXO -- X-EXO are EXO's alter ego clones. If you pay attention to what Kai and Baekhyun are wearing in "Jopping," their outfits are very similar to the all black outfits they are wearing in EXO's "Obsession " MV -- Kai even wears the same parachute backpack in both MVs -- which seems to indicate then that the version of Kai and Baekhyun in SuperM are the EXO members who are the good guys. Because in "Obsession" the members in all black are supposed to be EXO and the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy hair and makeup are the X-EXO members who have been created by the Red Force.
So on that note, I think people need to pay attention to all of the storylines with all of SM's groups, because I think at least all of SM's third and fourth generation groups' MVs and storylines are being designed to connect stories and plots. Each group has their own individual storyline and concept, but when you put them all together, there are threads of connection between the groups. And that includes EXO, Red Velvet, NCT/WayV, aespa and maybe even Taemin's solo work, and possibly even SHINee. Even though SHINee are second gen, the members actually are around the same age as the members of third generation groups, so they sort of bridge that gap between 2nd and 3rd gen.
And now I see connections being made with SHINee's most recent "Don't Call Me" and "Atlantis" MVs, as well as aespa's MVs and NCT-127's "Save" MV, and even SM's older groups, such as Super Junior's "House Party" MV, etc. It is becoming clear that SM is designing the SM Universe to include all of its groups and it is tying all of their storylines together.
For instance, if you have seen SHINee's "Don't Call Me" MV you might remember that we see the SHINee members at one point go through some sort of wormhole as they are teleported somewhere and we see them all standing together in all black outfits. This looks very similar to the scene in "Jopping" when the SuperM members are coming together at the beginning of the MV as they are teleported or travel through the wormhole. So, it looks like maybe SHINee are preparing to eventually join in the fight as well.
It's all part of SM's SM Culture Universe storyline.

To understand the story and concept behind "Jopping" better, if you haven't already, you should watch the behind the scenes/making of video called "SuperM: The Story of Jopping." It's an official video on SuperM's TH-cam channel. It's one of the best behind the scenes Kpop shooting videos I have watched and it really helps to explain the concept and story behind the song and the group. It's well worth the 30-plus minute video. Please check it out, even if you don't react to it. :D
If you follow EXO's concept and storyline even a little, you know that SM doesn't do anything halfway. When they come up with a concept for a group they go all in and even the most minute of details are used to tell that story. SuperM is specifically designed to try to help SM grab even more of the U.S. market. That is why their debut and all of their promotions were focused in the U.S. If you notice, SuperM starts with S and ends with M -- SM.
The stadium/coliseum scenes were all filmed in Korea on a soundstage. But all the outdoor scenes were filmed in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. So the desert and that cityscape were in Dubai -- it was all filmed live on location. And all those vehicles you see in the MV are real vehicles. Kai rode in the helicopter and Ten and Lucas filmed on that tank, etc. The scenes where you saw them driving the vehicles were in Dubai. They were drove by stuntmen, but they were all real working vehicles.
Just wait until you see them perform live at their debut concert at Capitol Records in California, you will be even more blown away.

They debuted by the end of 2019 and they were quite active during COVID keeping us company. It doesn’t’t mean though that their original groups were not active. Could you please, please, PLEASE react to SHINee? 🥹♥️💎 Known as The Princes of KPOP, they debuted in 2008 and have 14 years of discography to discover (and all five members are spectacular soloists). Created as a contemporary, experimental group, they are responsible for introducing and setting new trends with music (Deep House, EDM, live vocals, etc), dance (difficult choreography whilst singing live, dance practice videos, etc), fashion (too many to name, but possibly the most famous was the colored skinny jeans trend 😂), culture (breaking gender norms-empowering women, having all-female backing dancers, supporting LGBTQIA+, etc.), and more.
I mentioned all five are soloists, but you should also know that SHINee are all five main vocalists, main dancers, main rappers, and main visuals. They have some of the most distinct voices in KPOP, yet they blend into the most harmonious sound. They’re truly remarkable and are known as the Idols’ Idols…if you ask, many idols and trainees will credit SHINee or one of the members as the reason they pursued their career and look up to them as who they aspire to become.
Taemin of SuperM (Michael Jackson dance vibes, driving the motorbike, dancing in front of the Dubai cityscape, with smooth as buttah vocals (he’s the other main vocalist with Baekhyun)) is the maknae of SHINee and debuted with them at the very young age of fourteen. He is truly a phenomenon.
I 10000000% guarantee you will not regret checking them out-both as a group and as five spectacular soloists.

Yes pink hair is Baek (Bake), tall helicopter man is Kai, both Exo...Taemin from Shinee, a group older than Exo, from 2007, he is the silver hair, a kpop legend in his own right (as a soloist), and the last 4 are the Nct youngsters. Unless you are familiar with specific groups other than Exo (and you are a baby still with Exo) you shouldn't delve into a mixed group bro. Sm experimented 3 years back combining these groups, it has nothing to do with a subunit for Exo or their military rotation. If Baekhyun and Taemin weren't currently in the military, SuperM would have put out more music, and that's simultaneously with music from their respective original groups. "Talk lightly"? Look, we all know likes and subscribers get you further on...but kpop is very much out there, once you go in that hole, everyone will be clamoring for reactions. You can't please everyone, and yet you still need to keep your mind sane...it can be total insanity to listen to the comments, DON'T let them run your life! If you don't pace yourself and do your channel, your way, you WILL be overwhelmed, and can get great anxiety along with depression. I've seen too many new reactors to Kpop lose their mind and quit...and stayed off social media for weeks. You need to take care of your own mental health. Just realize AB that Kpop has been gaining speed since 2006 onward, and it's a whole different can of worms you've opened. Don't let it make you lose your joy, or it will end up swallowing your peace of mind.
