Awal....honored to have gotten accepted by them. In honesty, use them for distribution. If they are willing to promote your content, do it. You won’t have to pay a fee in order to have your songs submitted like the rest. You still own your masters, and etc. They take 15% of royalties, and promote songs they feel are resonant. If you’re already sustained, that’s fine. But there’s nothing wrong with an extra push, especially when it could save your promotional budget overall 🙏
@mr. sock Bro I understand where you're coming from but you can't frame yourself in that mindset or you're bound to loose. You've got to work hard on your craft even it it's with free beats for a start, if you perfect your skills and never give up, eventually someone will notice. That being said, send me links to your work and if I like what I hear I'll send you free beats and help you produce your tracks. We are all connected and looking to invest in the future, but you've got to show that you're willing to put in the time and work. Just like Sean puts time and effort into making this informative vids. It's more than just a ponzi scheme.
They just wanna make out of artists again, if you got big engagement, doing successful tours, getting music sales, got a lawyer and a good brand then wtf you need them for you already did everything any label could do for you
@@MariocarrilloOfficial I've used virtually all of the online distribution companies and AWAL isn't great at all. For me, with the rate that I release music, and being that I have a pre-existing audience (14 albums on all platforms) Distrokid makes the most sense. I could pay my yearly membership with a small portion of what I make monthly from my catalog so it's basically free, plus I keep 100% without having to kickback anything to the distributor. I hope that makes sense lol

Awal is a digital distributor like any other. However, their backline analytics are second to none and they have quicker and better royalty collection payouts.
Do ya'll think SoundCloud is even relevant at this point? All my streams come from Spotify Apple and TH-cam, with minimal movement on SC - imo it's just a crowded platform filling with garbage, there's definitely people streaming there, but it's just hard to be "discovered" on the platform.
@@indiig. I disagree, I know people doing 500k monthly listeners on Spotify that dont' even have a soundcloud and they're killing it. It's just one metric.
They've just changed their business model & become a music distributor, which is similar to AWAL, so it'll be interesting to see what this changes.. 👀👀👀
A record label could sign you just by seeing a video of you freestyleing for 2mins but awal? Lol y'all go sign Drake and lil pump they got all the requirements lol

That sounds great! Thanks for the advice man you've definitely changed my opinion.
*Bottom line is: God helps only those who help themselves.*

Unbiblical.. lol
It's a saying to illustrate. Nobody pretends it's a literal quote from the scriptures. Don't miss the point bro. I wish you a good day though.

Yo this comment is a year old. How was your experience with AWAL? Do you think someone like tunecore or distro kid is better?

Preciate it 💪
love the intro brody!
If you got all the things awal requires, do you need awal?
This is sort of my question as well? Awal is essentially a distributor, no? So a lot of these things are pretty much a given as an indie artist imo
Awal is a digital distributor like any other. However, their backline analytics are second to none and they have quicker and better royalty collection payouts.
LABRA979 well that’s good to know. I like to get the difference between these type of channels because there seem to be a few .
Once you have all these things, you don't really need a label at all since your already semi famous.
@labra you sound like you work for them
oOoOO with the fire new intro I love it bro. Thank u so much for these videos

It's still very relevant, but it's almost exclusively meant for Hip Hop and electronic music.
@@indiig. I disagree, I know people doing 500k monthly listeners on Spotify that dont' even have a soundcloud and they're killing it. It's just one metric.
@@indiig. plus you gotta think if someone uses Spotify or Apple Music, they're not going to use SoundCloud to listen to your music.
I had forgot about soundcloud

Youll need them to get funds from them
