You always deliver more than you promise! Excellent vid, guys :) I really like the movie. So many actors and actresses who perform splendidly, the costumes, the sets, the story itself... and yet, it's not one of those I'd instantly think about grabbing from my DVD/BR shelves to watch with friends when they come over for a movie night. It's one of those that needs some kind of mood and mindset to be picked and watched. Probably best enjoyed when nobody else is around so it's possible to immerse completely into the depicted world. Heck, I might watch it right away :D Thank you once again.

I like Leo, the look of the film, the ideas, and I love Marty... but I can't get into the movie. Tried it once. Just couldn't keep my attention. I'll probably give it another go one day when I round out his filmography though.

I don’t like how he makes The Movie seem like it was a bomb the movie clearly broke even and this is back when DVDs was at its highest and with the Oscar nominations and wins it did very well.

I like Jim Carrey in his more dramatic roles, but he would've been a poor choice for Howard Hughes.
You never know. He has proven himself to be a good actor in serious movies. He really transforms himself to the character.

I think Carrey as Howard would actually have been a better choice. More eccentric. Love Leo but I remember not liking his performance in this one as much as others. I think Carrey would have added a lot of fun along with a real chaotic nature to a film about the man.

I really like the film ‘Ray’ but Leo got robbed that year imo. The Aviator is a much better film than ‘Ray’. Holds up quite nice even to this day.
I still believe it was a far superior performance than foxx and 2nd best in Dicaprio's Career behind Wolf of Wall street
@@drprathamprakash1408 agreed. I remember rooting for Leo that year but i knew the hype around Ray was mostly because jamie foxx was hot at that time with movies and music. He was everywhere. I get it. But i watched Ray recently and to me, it looks like an early 2000 film and doesnt hold up as well as The Aviator. I dont really see Leo in that film, i see Howard Hughs. Nuff said💯

It doesn't feel like a Scorsese film there really isn't a good antagonist like his other films.
