I love all his films but this is his masterpiece
Of all his movies dusk till Dawn is always going to be number one. But hateful eight it sure as hell number two. I don't care what critics say I don't care what anybody says I love that damn movie. I watch that movie on average once a month minimum
Only tarantino could make a 3 hour movie all shot in a cabin and make it absolutely epic and amazing. Seriously like 90% of the movie was in 1 room.
It wasn't epic and it wasn't amazing. It was garbage.
And he used the same actor that also was set in a compound surrounded by snow all around
@@randomrfkovthey spend way too long double barricading a door, that is gonna be reopened anyway, multiple times… but still so entertaining to watch like it’s only natural.
@@riardomilos8014 they spend way too long on lots of things. That’s why it’s only some of us who can actually enjoy these type films
Its borrrrrring
This is my favorite Tarantino movie. Sad that this movie never got the love it deserved.
Erskine's boy!?
I agree 💯 but I’m curious if you still have that Lincoln letter..
I loved it.
I still watch it. Took my top movie over when I seen it. I will always have a copy of hateful 8.
Same by far the best
Tarantino has never made a bad movie. Hollywood needs more directors with his same passion. The cringy shit that Hollywood puts out nowadays makes me wanna puke.
Personally lowest 1 is Deathproof, but I agree with you 100%. No "bad" ones, Hollywood sucks, etc. Cant wait for his next movie
Facts.
I agree 100% tarantino scorsese, aronofsky and nolan are the only good directors left. The comic book crap has to stop already.
Hell ride got bad review's, I personally liked it. but then again Tarantino was just a producer for that movie if I'm not mistaken
@@BryMora11 the worst Tarrantino movie is worth 1000 other pieces of shit on Netflix combined
This movie is the greatest QT movie and one of the greatest movies ever made.
Extremely rewatchable. 3 hours go by in minutes when I watch it. Masterpiece.
It's one of my all time favourites, every actor produces stellar performances. Script is great, it's just a superb movie.
3 hours goes by in 180 minutes 🤓
I agree
Goes by way faster than you think for sure
Agreed, best QT movie.
Morricone was so talented, his leftover musics even won him an award.
What a legend!
Or the original music should've won but the Academy Awards are idiots and shunned him because it was in a horror movie.
Yes but also the fact that he never win one before is pretty stupid. The Accademy really sucks.

Tarantino is one of the last great filmmakers that havent got too old. All the actors he employs have that realness and talent with their dialogue. He has a great eye for acting and talent in general. What a great movie wow. First time I saw it, I was speechless. Just like pulp fiction. Tarantino is a pure genius.
Drew Goddard and Edgar Wright are two recent guys that I've been thoroughly impressed by so far, worth the check out
He's probably the most overrated filmmaker ever.
@Revolver I'm just a movie buff but can't think of many other filmmakers that write, direct, edit, produce, and sometimes star in their own projects for as long and as successfully as he has without having to sell out to a studio and make some embarrassing piece of crap, just to make the films they really want to. Tarantino is like the only 1, and he's done it for 30 years and never missed a beat. Some of his films were better than others but wouldn't call any of them flops. They will be studied and amazed over for years to come, I'm sure. Nothing overrated about that.
@@jandro8370 He basically copies other filmmakers. He pays homage to his favourite directors. He doesn't really come up with anything original and he's running out of ideas.
@redd definitely i keep an eye on them. Goddard's Cabin in the woods is very underrated. He wrote and directed and it was nice twist on that genre. The hot fuzz and Shaun of the dead are 2 excellent comedies as well from Wright. Another filmmaker I really watch for is Ari Aster. One of my favorite up and coming filmmakers today.
God Disney has become such a snake of a villain in the movie industry
Quinton needs to start making dc movies😂 take that Disney
@@rafaeljohnson7596 I would watch a superhero movie by Tarantino. I imagine it would be a lot like The Watchmen.
This movie is EXTREMELY underrated.
I believe it to be for the same reason Bladerunner 2049 was not a box office hit. It’s a slower, drawn out storyline. Regardless of it’s complexity and overall magnificence, most people are interested in a action “Marvel style movie.” I saw The Verdict with Paul Newman last night and am honestly surprised at how different movies were back then.. in a really good way.
What’s this rating system you speak of?
No it actully sucks
its because of how modern audiences have short attention spans. we live in the age of social media and instant gratitude. look at movie trailers today. its like a machine gun flash bang edit with each clip being no longer than 3 seconds. im not even that old but I feel like im having a heart attack by the time the trailers are done. Same reason trailers literally give the entire plot away. its not only a shame but its quite frightening to think of the trajectory this is heading. in 20 years entire movies will be like these trailers, well they almost already are. they cant even hold a camera on someone as they deliver lines. have to cut back and forth 30 times between actors. well paced and beautiful films are gone
No, just underrated.
i had no idea the guitar was a real museum piece, i remember last time i watched it, daisy's reaction to the guitar being broken seemed too real, and shocking. It all makes sense now! great video thank you!
I had no idea jjl wasn't American! Love that músic times over líne.
I love that Quentin kept her reaction in the movie, even when she's clearly looking right at him like "are you gonna cut?? Stop him! "
I'm torn on what I would do.. Even if I knew it was an museum piece, if Kurt smashing it was improvised then by the time he started to swing we would be ruining the entire take by trying to stop him and it still would be too late.. Might as well just roll and deal with the consequences later..
.
@@mullaoslo Very selfish imo.
Mung.
Shmegma
@@undeaddave9671 how can it be selfish to be unable to stop someone from a improvised moment? im not saying id knowingly smash it, but if it happens might as well get the footage so it wasnt for nothing
Jennifer Leigh made this movie great. Really surprising performance.
I love this movie, and the extended Netflix version. Watching it on a cold snowy winter day is just perfect.
I love watching snowy movies on a cold snowy day
Extended Cut was absolutely mind melting. I was literally never not engaged and entertained in the entire stretch of this movie. It's one of those movies that doesn't "exhaust" you or make you feel fatigued when watching. It's a vibe for sure.
Deleted scenes? Alternate ending? I dont live in the usa.
@@davidperez5089 The Netflix extended version just has extra deleted scenes and is broken up into four episodes with open & closing credits.
'The Hateful Eight' is really a GEM of a movie. I've watched it multiple times and my appreciation is deepened with each viewing. I love your vision, Quentin. I can't wait for the next release.
Allow us to share your gleanings
I went to the theater 3 times to see it in 70MM and two more times in regular because the projector wasn't working. It holds a special place in my heart top five QT movies.
I really want Tarantino’s last movie to be a mafia film. I would love to see his interpretation on the genre
Very good idea I'd love that
hell yeah
reservoir dogs probably counts
I have been saying that for years now. But not just any Mafia film, a straight up Black and White 1930s prohibition, tommy guns kinda gangster flick
It would be like John Wick.. utter trash with loads of shooting.
Glad I got to see this movie opening night in its original 70 millimeter format in a mostly empty theater, it was a cinematic experience I’ll never forget
The greatest movie I've ever watched. I've seen this movie so many times that I can recite the dialogues line by line along with the characters. All of them.
Man I'm so glad im not alone here. I've watched it so many times i can recite every word and gunshot.
Again and again I've heard this movie be underrated and that "its too long and not rewatchable" and i never understood that criticism.
For me its the most rewatchable QT movie and also the best imo. Might even say one of the greatest movies ever made.
@@nit2092 but can you prove it Cabron ?????
yeah its one of those films I watch over and over, the way I would listen to a favorite song. Its got that rare quality that it makes me feel at home when its rolling. I just moved back to a snowy region and the first big fall will be my stay at home day with another viewing.
I watched this movie like 8 times. The dialogue is so rich and fun. The ending is bitter sweet, unexpected, and still felt like a happy ending
You should watch more movies then instead of this one just over and over. It's agood movie, but not THAT good.
I still watch this movie every now and then, I will follow it word for word
First time I watched this film, I didn’t enjoy it all. The second time, I absolutely loved it, and by the third watch, it became one of my favourite movies ever. It’s so richly layered, even now I pick up on new things on each rewatch.
The tension builds really slowly throughout the film but the characters keep you interested. Chris Mannix was my favourite character by the end, but I also loved how badass Marquis Warren was.
It helps that the cinematography is gorgeous, and the score is perfect.
Same, it's just too much movie for many people to "get" with a single viewing
Same. Didn’t like It the first time but when I watched it again a month after I absolutely loved it
I'm a lifelong Tarantino fan and was incredibly lucky to be working at RED Digital when The Hateful Eight was filmed at their studio in Hollywood. Tarantino brought in massive air conditioning trucks, parked on the street all around the outside of the the studio, to keep the set extremely cold. I got to walk around the massive cabin they built inside the largest sound stage at the studio. I got to witness Madsen, Dern, Roth, Goggins, Russell, and Tatum casually standing around, in costume, just chatting it up. When filming completed, I was able to buy a ton of memorabilia from the set, including a huge pair of snowshoes. I consider myself insanely lucky.
Hateful eight was so good I didn't want it to end
papa kolo blesses the bored nerds again
It’s the best movies ever. It’s perfect. Perfect script, acting , all of that.
7:45 an incredibly "tame" reaction from the Museum. If that were me, I would lock Quentin in a Room, with the remains of the Guitar and some "superglue" and would tell him that he can only see sunlight if he manages to put it back together.
Totally agree. I haven't had as much respect for Tarantino as I once had since I heard how he let a vintage Martin be destroyed. 😡
@@DesertRat332 shouldn't you be blaming Kurt? Lol
@@thecatthatgotawaykurt thought it was a prop guitar they were smashing. you really can’t blame Kurt
@@DesertRat332 Actually it is pretty funny. Shit situation, but honestly it is what it is.
His work on movies are unbelievable. I so hope he keeps making more
I believe he has only 1 more left that he started writing
Yeah, he's stated he's only making one more.
I hope he changes his mind.
I was hoping he'd make a Vietnam war movie. I think the dialogue would be great due to endless material for him 😅
This movie has always been top 4 westerns of all time, and that clip about the guitar ...🤯
This is actually my favorite movie my Tarantino. It got me through a very tough time in my life, I absolutely loved this movie .
I've watch this movie so many times and never got bored.
This is the movie the I've watched the most times in my life, I literally stopped counting.
Only time will do it justice
Seen this movie at least 10 times, and never got bored.
Kurt Russell casually smashing a priceless guitar cements this film as one of the Greats.
I was addicted to this movie for 2 to 3 months
I watch this every winter after it snows out for the 1st time
That Samuel Jackson line about the coffee mixed in there made me laugh out loud😂😂😂
I love that movie
The end of this video was just perfect. Quentin is an absolute master of his craft.
i had no idea Morricone scored the Thing.. how the hell didn't I know that? makes so much sense to me now... I'm truly gobsmacked that I didn't know this..
Yeah I assumed Carpenter scored it himself
I get the idea that Christoph Waltz was who Quentin really wanted for the Mobray character. Why do I say that? Because Tim Roth speaks just like Waltz would in that role.
Christoph Waltz doesnt have an english accent, also Mobray changes his accent as soon as his act drops, he slips from a posh accent into a very gritty cockney like accent
Might not be the right accent, but damn does Mobray fell like he is written onto Christoph. I 200% agree!
I did notice some similarities to his mannerisms and cadence. Makes a lot more sense now.
Guess Tim Roth is a mimic
Yeah bc christoph doesn’t mind turning down roles. He turned down Django in the beginning. QT wouldn’t take no for an answer
6:16 That's awesome that the studio was kept at 35 degrees to keep up the realism.
i absolutely love quentin, the world would simply just not be the same without him
I feel like Quentin should have smashed one of the lenses and sent it to the Martin Guitar Museum with a note saying "sorry, we are even"
yeah you know they were PISSED especially since he himself didnt even pay for said damages it was just insurance lol
I was born in 63 watched alot of movies. This guy makes good movies
I have a really hard time deciding which of his films is my favorite. Just when I think i have one, he comes out with another masterpiece. They only get better and better.
FINALLY, the incredible culmination of Quentin films I've been waiting for! Another great Kino vid 👍
One of the best theatrical experience I've had, saw the very last showing of the Hateful 8 at the Dome. By then, the reel seems have developed plenty of "character" and that definitely added to the experience vs. the latest digital projection ultra 12K whatever.
Every time I remember The fact that ennio morricone did the genius compositions for the thing and hateful eight… it makes me wanna scream joyfully.
This is my favorite movie by far from him… idk why but I can watch it every night.
A friend went to Martin and saw the guitar in Pieces in the bosses office. They're still super annoyed about it.
I BET! It's a priceless artifact!!
oddly its probably worth much more now
This is one of my favourite movies Two people that hate each other with a passion know, they’re the only two they can trust.
Cool video. Love The Hateful Eight and Tarantino. Didn't know that he had announced a Star Trek project. As a huge Tarantino fan, and someone who's never been into Star Trek, I REALLY hope this isn't his 10th and final film
The ultimate geek, time for reality my friend.
This movie will age beautifully. They were all great.
if Quentin actually said he only referenced 2 movies in the Hateful Eight, he was missing something...that many of the scenes come almost directly from "The Great Silence" directed by Sergio Corbucci. The bounty hunters and sheriff all together in a stage during a snowstorm is almost completely taken from this movie shot by shot! there's now way he couldn't be referencing it in the Hateful Eight since he clearly loves spaghetti westerns and loves Corbucci!! somebody needs to get their facts straight!
My favorite movie of all time. I’ve watched it over 30 times
OK. 🙄
Upon first watch, this was easily my favorite Tarantino film. That being said, I think I has some of the worst rewatchability of any of his films, because the suspense and lack of knowing who’s who the first time is so crucial. I still absolutely love it, and I think it’s the greatest example of Tarantino’s ability to make dialogue truly and utterly intoxicating to hear
This man is film-maker royalty
Hateful Eight, especially the extended edition we can see on Netflix, is INCREDIBLE. I am not surprised this is your most viewed of the Quentin Tarantino series you've done.
And what a saga, Disney is really that afraid of competition. Theyre still doing the same tricks these days. This monopolistic behavior from Disney is going to lead to divestment if they keep it up.
I watched H8 three times. Only DVD unfortunately. But the setting and the characters made me want to get the Hell outta that cabin. The tension and paranoia feels absolutely real. Has a very strong horror vibe. Good 💩 Maynard
After the first one and a half hours of the movie, I didn't think the film would get this interesting. This is a masterpiece.
Disney really did Tarantino dirty with that move.
Corporate greed.
I can’t stop watching this movie it’s a masterpiece
How can making 160 million dollars be considered a failure???
Unlike other film geek channels, i feel like Kolo Kini actually comes from the film industry and is currently live in LA.
i would rather see hateful eight 3 times in a row than watch those other movies, that is how good i think hateful eight is
I am such a WUSS!!!
Quentin’s “geniusness” is unparalleled…
As a Senior over the age of 70, I ALWAYS have to rewatch his movies multiple times in order to get the “gist” of his creativity & humor!!!
I grew up in the world of The Ten Commandments, Cat Ballou, Operation Petticoat, The Fly (original), The Alamo (John Wayne), The Pink Panther, The Manchurian Candidate, etc…
At least there’s some hope for me, right???
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
quentin is the literal example of it paying to study and be badass at something
This movie is by far the best thing he’s ever done. I will never understand TH-cam film critics. Ever
This video better have a ridiculous voice-over voice in there somewhere
EDIT: I’m not disappointed.
JJL with ...what, an Italian accent? Yeah kind of wtf
I’ve watched the extended cut a billion times. What was weird though is that the first time I watch this film I didn’t necessarily like it or at least I thought it was one of his weakest films. But for some reason I decided to go back and watch it again maybe a year later, and I was absolutely blown away at how good it was. It must’ve just been the mood, I was in the first time or maybe I was just trying to soak it all in but the second time I learned to really appreciate what was happening. Since then I’ve gone on to watch it once every six months or so, which I rarely do with movies. Only a couple other examples of a film I do that with and that’s the thing and 13 assassins.
Of his many great films, I put H8 at the top. Amazing, timeless film in all respects.
I love watching this movie during a snowday, drinking and smoking in a comfy blanket.
Tarantino for me can come off as a jerk lots of times true or not . Some people can just come off that way at times but the man is a artist in his kraft , a genius in many ways of movie making . Any time he has a new movie coming out it gets your attention to want to know about it .
I love that he doesn’t back away from the weirdo comment. His quirks are what make both him, and all his films great. Truly a man with vision and passion.
I bet the 2 mystery men were Sam Jackson and Kurt Russell, two longtime friends and collaborators, who would never betray him.
Def SLJ.
This channel is going to blow up. Well done my man.
I love this movie, watched many times.
This movie was really great. And then when they broke it up into episodes, it somehow made it even better.
I don’t know if I’d say this is my favourite movie of his, and it certainly isn’t his best, however it is the one that I revisit most often. It’s like a good hang out movie.
Despite recognizing Morricone's "Despair," I never made the connection between MacReady and Ruth until this video. Now I feel STOOOOPID
Most rewatchable movie ever.
GOD DAM IT!! I wish I was half the man he is, with the drive and passion he had for what he loves. We need more and more people just like him on this earth
one of my favorite movies of all times - truely a masterpiece
Damn I promise I didn't see your post before I said the same thing lol 😅
I was fortunate to see all the Leone films in the theater on initial release in Arizona. For "The Hateful Eight", Mrs. Cuss and I saw the extended 70mm version at the Cine Capri in Scottsdale, and the audience loved it. They handed out little booklets with the show.
I'm a huge fan of Tarantino but I had to watch this movie a couple of times before I really enjoyed it. Now I love this movie and it should've gotten more love.
Heightful 8 is my favorite Quentin movie, and up there in my top 10 overall favorite movies.
This is the Tarantino movie I rewatch the most
i can't help it but this is my favorite tarantino movie :D.. i love the way it is shot on camera with that widescreen..
breaking that guitar crushed my soul. as someone who will cringe in terror if i drop my 5 year old acoustic i couldn’t even imagine a 150 year old guitar
It sounded so Lovely too.
Definitely one of my favorite films of his. I never understood why this movie wasn't received well at first.
Quentin Tarantino is my hero. As a man with Down’s syndrome he has created some great movies.
The Hateful 8 is my favorite cowboy movie all-time
5:36 I'm sure no one needs this reference to be explained, but Sam Jackson was referencing a line from his previous Tarantino film, "Jackie Brown", where he played an arms dealer, and said something similar about the AK-47.
This was a damn good movie. Seriously underrated. I watching is quite a few times a year.
Probably my favorite movie of his so far. The extended version was a gift to Tarantino fans
I went to the advanced screening of the hateful 8 at the arclight where they had the cast wardrobe on display. Even had a real intermission mid way through the film. Loved everybit of the experience.
This is the _first_ Tarantino movie I’ve ever seen.
I don’t have access to Django, Pulp Fiction, or Inglorious Bastards. Idk why so much of his catalogue is on these obscure steaming services and not on the big players like Netflix and Hulu.
Piracy exists brother
One of best filmmakers of our generation
the hateful 8 is my absolute favorite movie. i love QT movies, theyre the only movies i have hope for anymore
I've watched this movie 14 times... I'll watch it anyday again.
One of the best channels here on YT today.
