I try to respond to everyone, but sometimes the messages get lost in here and when I finally discover them I answer....

You're doing a great job in demonstrating! Just a note: in order to keep strawberries in the fridge for longer than 3 days just cut the top off and core it. Throw those out and DO NOT WASH THEM UNTIL YOU'RE READY TO USE THEM. Place a paper towel on the bottom of the plastic container they came in to keep the juice from spilling on the bottom of your fridge; place cut strawberries in the container and return to the fruit bin in the fridge. The preservative that the farmers put on them keeps them from getting the 'fuzzies' on them too soon. This method I use will keep them for 2 -3 weeks.

    is the corn syrup necessary?

The corn syrup thickens it..it is not necessary . I make several berry sauces with just sugar, berries, very little water, mash and cook on stovetop to boil, then 1o minute and into jars!!

Did you put any oil at the bottom of your pan or no?

I just cut up 29.70 oz of strawberry how much measurements of sugar and karo syrup

depends on how sweet the berries are and how sweet you want them....my husband hates a lot of sugar, as he says , he likes to taste the berries and not sugar, so I would add maybe 1 cup sugar to 29 oz of berries....some people like them sweeter... The karo thickens so, maybe a tablespoon....taste it once it begins to cook and adjust from there...

@@crazyjeancooking Thank you for your response, greatly appreciated! It turned out pretty sweet😀 I had a bowl of vanilla ice cream with some strawberries jam! It’s so good !:) So Thanks a bunch you helped me out.

@@jlowman318 thanks for the feedback...I do the same with raspberries or blueberries and my husband loves both on ice cream !!! I sterilize glass mason jars and pour the hot fruit mixture into them, put the lid on , wait for it to seal, then I can put them in my cupboards for a good year.....nice to have in the middle of the winter!! OR , you can take some of your strawberry jam and freeze it in a plastic container .....

    • @crazyjeancooking

I needed a little corn syrup to thicken the berries ( instead of corn starch)..
